Fantastic family environment with fun activities. I like the location. Close to good fishing and site seeing. Tubing was fun. Close to Pegosa, Crede, and South Fork.

At the invitation of friends almost a year ago, we decided to join them in Fun Valley while they were staying in their motor home the first of August...beat the Texas heat and see parts of Colorado we had never seen. I called and booked an air-conditioned trailer..just in case. Upon verification of our trailer closer to our reserved date (per phone conversation) was told that our trailer was one of their new units that excited us. During the week, we found Fun Valley provided great places to fish, play putt putt and provided good entertainment.....KEEP READING!!We arrived at Fun Valley and checked into our trailer. As evening progressed, we got cold and decided to turn on the heat and our wall thermostat was not operating and broken. I left a message on the after hours emergency number and received a call from the office the following morning after we had a very uncomfortable night.I received a call the following morning, explained the situation and maintenance staff (in timely manner) replaced the wall unit that they acknowledged was inoperable....great guys. The next day, the same maintenance people came and worked on our vent-a-hood (had to order a new part...never used) as well as radio that didn't work. We did not explain the stove being hard to lite but never able to use the entire week.I did speak to our next door neighbor after night without heat to see if they had heat and was told they had heat but no hot water. While maintenance was at our place I asked them to go next door and fix their hot water issue and they showed them a switch to flip to activate hot water heater. My reason writing this review is to complain about the office management and their response to my informing them of not heat as well asking them for some compensation in return for our night freezing in our trailer.I spoke to someone in office who called me about heater not working and their words were, "Well, how are we to know if it doesn't work if no one complains about it? No one else has complained."I dropped by the office and asked the manager about some compensation for our one night of freezing and she said she would discuss matter with upper management and let me know decision when we checked out. I agreed and said thanks as this, for me, was the right thing to do with what we were paying for the trailer....five nights at $171 PER NIGHT with tax for five nightsUpon check out, I spoke to the same manager and was told because they had responded to our request to fix/replace the heater thermostat in a timely manner along with other things not working, that we were no due any compensation. Needless to say, I was shocked at the lack of customer service that, I felt ,we should have been afforded. Wouldn't you think at rates charged that we would find upon arrival, the "new" trailer having been checked out and heater working?!Fun Valley has very good facilities for a family to visit but our experience with a rental trailer was NOT good! My suggestion for anyone renting one of their units is to request a staff person to go with them at check in and make sure air (if unit has A/C), heat and hot water are working. This should keep you from speaking to office management and getting the same tart and lame excuse we received!!Nearby activities: Close to town and outside interests

You've got to experience this classic experience of Americana. You will enter into a world like I have never seen with good clean fun and friendly campers as far as you can see. The kids ride their bikes all around and fish a bunch. I am more of a primitive camper, but coming here with an RV is a whole new fun experience.Nearby activities: Revolution Rail was fun

So I must say I have mixed feelings about this location, I see what it could be and what it still can be in the future. But as of right now this is just a rundown retirement home for Texans that want to get out of the heat. A nickel and dime you for everything well no they 1$ and 5$ is more accurate as everything has a price, which is understandable to some degree but is absurd for some of these costs. $10 for a single game on their somewhat adequate putt putt course. Or $10 for 30 minutes on paddle boats that don't even work. Charging you at the yin Yang for small amenities, double or triple the price for some knock-off toys and candy. The first day we were there we spent over $300 on just some minor attractions that were in the place. Mind you there were eight of us, after how much we paid for campsite, wish I am not privy to you my parents to care of that. And before food that was offered there. We didn't have much if you brought her room but I can only imagine if you don't have enough food you're going to get ringed for every set you have.As well it's just so crowded. I know this is meant to be a family campground but it just seems like you're packing everybody in. And most of it is again tailoring to rich individuals mostly it seemed from Texas with massive RVs, just making this their permanent camping spot for the summer. I would take my review with a grain of salt though, I do prefer a lot more spaced out camping and being more nature like if you see a campsite 300 ft away and another family with their fire that's fine, being able to be surrounded by a little nest of trees, next to a nice creek or the lovely birds and floor and fauna all around that's amazing. But you have it where you step out of your tent and two feet over is your neighbor's lot where they are also trying to have fun family experience. It's not good. And again apparently from what I was told there was so much more that happened at this place and as well a lot of it was free. Apparently there has been a bunch of change of hands from the original owners and now the current ones are just trying to turn this into a cash cow. They used to have dancing and karaoke and a bunch of other small events but they've all been thrown to the wayside because it's just too much maintenance. I can't say for sure but it was just an off-putting experience for me. I still had a great time with my family and we'll have memories but it will be of the time with my family and not of this place.

We completed our 34th year at Funvalley. What more can I say! Families that go here experience a unique vacation and come back year after year. We have had four generations. Have fun here.

If you want to try this place and get a cabin or room, don't expect a Hilton hotel! This place is to get away from the city and live a few days as a real camping experience. They have a lot of stuff to do on site, so there no reason to stay in your room for more than maybe 30 minutes for a siesta. This place has everything you need so you don't have to leave at all. Hope you enjoy as much as we do.Rooms: A real cabin with running waterSafety: Security is out and about non-stop. Everyone watches out for everyone. Never seen anything go south hereWalkability: Lots of trails and you can walk or bike to the amenitiesFood & drinks: Restaurants, store

Fun Valley is an absolute delight that offers a nostalgic trip back in time. With its lack of cell service within the park, beautiful surroundings, family-friendly activities, and the chance to disconnect from the world, it is a haven for anyone seeking a memorable and truly enjoyable experience. Pack your bikes, leave your worries behind, and embrace the magic of Fun Valley. It's a journey you won't soon forget.

Honestly never going back. We came down for a 2 night getaway. We got in late our first night due to traffic. They said they would leave a pack for us at the front which they did. We drove to our spot and we didn’t fit. The campers on both sides of us were both over into our spot. So we had to go find security which took an hour. They put us in a temporary spot which I told them we’re not moving again since we’re only here for another night. Customer service is awful, the next day I told the front desk about not being able to fit in our spot and she just shrugged her shoulders. They have everyone squished into this site like sardines and don’t even care. Security is rude. Staff is rude. It’s just not a pleasant time at all. Frankly I would love a refund. Cause we spent more time off the campgrounds. They nickel and dime for everything. It costs to play mini golf, it costs to use the paddle boats, it costs t tube. There’s a cost for everything in addition ti the fee you pay to stay.

Love, love, love the location, the river access and activities! Some sites are way too tight (our daughter and son-in-law's) Soooo, check the mail and ask questions before reserving. This was our second visit and we would definitely return. Very much enjoyed the Friday Night Bike parade. ?

Traveling with nieces and decided to go to a family campground. The location is stunning with so many trees and trails BUT it's a congested parking lot. They have bike rentals, tubing that will bruise you because there are so many rocks, a cute grocery store, wash house, arcade, fishing, train ride, and dining hall. My biggest complaint is the bathrooms, in the women's there are 5 shower stalls and 4 bathroom stalls for a campground with hundreds of RV spots. Ridiculous. The highlight of the trip was renting a golf cart and driving through the park and enjoying the views.Wifi sucks so you will be forced to unplug.Don't foresee visiting again.

We just drove thru looking at their grounds and facilities. The place looks very good. But you better like people and neighbors because they have almost 500 campsites here. Too crowded for my taste!

Has a lot of things for families, but way too crowded. Campers are so close that I couldn't have my awning out at all since I had a slide-out.

This place is an absolute joke. The customer service is horrible. The camp ground it like a bunch of sardines packed into one spot. I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been going back and forth with management about getting a refund. We booked a creek side space but couldn’t fit in it cause the people on both sides of it were over flowing into our spot. Security is not friendly at all. Their Maintaince guy drives around like a bat out of hell with kids playing everywhere. I DO NOT recommend.
