Great camp ran by very nice people in a beautiful area. It’s really hard meeting other Deaf families in the community that can communicate with my daughter. This was the highlight of my daughter’s summer- she made friends here that will hopefully be lifelong.

I don't know what year I went, but possible 1986-1990 one of those years I remember the staff member in charge of the camp named "bo" she called herself bo as a nick name. I hated this camp treating me like a slave. counselers forced me get in shower nude with no clothes with the other campers. I was not finished washing my hair and counsler made me get out of the shower with shampoo in my hair. I was trying to rinse shampoo she wont let me. The kids were rude at the table hitting the table and my shoulder across the table asking for food. and it was so annoying hitting banging on the table trying to get other attention across the table. The bathroom is outside of the cabins which is terrible place to be. I had to use the bathroom in the dark ALONE up a hill and its not private. the stalls do not close it is a curtain instead of stalls it is stupid. I tried to ask someone to walk with me but counselor don't want to get up to walk with me. Same with camping with a tent got wet. I had to leave the tent to use the bathroom in the DARK SCARY DARK AT NIGHT had to go to the bathroom. This is a terrible place to be. The burgers were really bad!! hard black and burnt burgers and hotdogs burned. why do peole love this camp it SUCKS!!!!!!!! the campers on the raft keep splashing water on me I did not like water splashing on me. counselor forved me to carry a heavy back back UP THE STEEP HILL back to the bus not letting me rest to drink water.. I don't know what the camp is like now , but it was a bad experience for me in the 1980s I am using bob's account I am tiffany..I went with my friend to this camp she was in another group her name is kim smith. i'm not telling you my last name or kim's marriage name too bad.

Aspen Camp was truly magical, transforming the lives of many people beyond comprehension and recognition!! I first went when I was 8 years old, before several of the facilities were renovated or built, actually.. The last time I went there was as a staff there, when I was 19 years old. Aspen Camp provides a safe place for children to grow, learn, and discover. It also provides a safe place for young adults to grow, learn, and discover. I can vouch for both since I went there as a camper six times and as a staff twice. I'd always recommend Aspen Camp to parents of a young deaf child looking for a summer camp or to young adults looking for a summer job. This place is the place to be, truly magical and inspiring.. Camply Yours, Jesse

It really gets 4 stars because the facilities is a bit outdated. It reminds you of a 70's campground. However, I know they're working on getting the funds to revamp everything. It gets 5 stars though because of the amazing memories I have here. I truly found who I was and comfort in being a deaf person at Aspen Camp. My stepfather worked there for many years before he joined my family. I attended for 8 straight years until I was too old to be a camper. By then I was busy in high school and working full time in the summer. But never have I forgotten the beauty of this place. It's full of lush landscaping, mountains, wild animals, and inspirational energy to help you find what you're looking for. The programs ACDHH offers are designed to match many people's ages, preferences, and goals. Summer camp for youth are the best. Nothing beats being around your peers without limitations. Here you just have fun being you. :) Nothing is better than that. I am forever grateful to this camp and will be a lifelong supporter and donor. I'm lucky that my mother is now the Executive Director because now I can visit any time I want. How wonderful is that!?
