My truck broke down in the middle of the major snowstorm yesterday. After my company got me the room, Lauren came out herself in that weather and picked me up on the side of exit 218. I could have waited 6 to 8 hours for a pickup in a truck with no heat if it was not for Lauren. Words cannot express how grateful I was.

A charming historic hotel tucked up in the mountains. Great accommodations for those looking to escape the city, catch a nearby hike, overnight stay for weekend skiers, also had plenty if beds for my larger family

Amazing accommodations and amazing service. This is our second time here and both times have been great. We live in Denver and love coming up here. The service is top rate and all of our questions are answered immediately. Highly recommended staying here if you're just passing through or need a break from the big city. Silver Plume and the Windsor always have a special place in our hearts.

I cannot believe we found such a great place to stay! The house is historic and full of character! I loved the shared bathroom, it was an amazing experience! Food was great. The conversations with neighbors and the owner was beyond amazing! The dogs there were a blessing! I couldn't get enough of them! Room 6 was simply perfect! We love how she kept the place decorated with antiques and vintage things. We felt so comfortable that we went everywhere in our jammies throughout the house! (You can't do that at a chain hotel) the views are to die for! Lauren is a gem! Wealth of knowledge and a breath of fresh air! She is so sweet and down to earth! Her boys are so sweet and so respectful as well! I loved every creak, every quirk, and it reminded me of our own 150 year old home! We felt right at home! You can't ask for anything better! (Unless of course you are expecting a 5 star hotel that is a bling and no character.) I can't say enough good things about this place! If you want to feel like you are home... This is the place! We loved sitting on the porch and talking to all the neighbors that stopped by for a chat, and looked forward to hanging out with Lauren every chance we got! This was perfect!!Rooms: Cozy, quaint, clean and comfortableNearby activities: Hiking, walking, views, so much to do!!!Safety: We left our door open and unlocked most of the time we were there!Walkability: So many things to see and do!Food & drinks: She is an amazing cook! Food was great!

I cannot believe we found such a hidden gem! If you want to feel like you are at home, or want something other than a stuffy, no character same old same old hotel, this is the perfect place! It has history, charm, character, love, an amazing owner, and real breakfast food! The rooms are beautifully done to look cozy and comfortable. The house decor pays respect for the historic house. No where else can you sit out on the porch with hot tea or coffee and get to chat with passing neighbors for hours. No where else you can get the welcome hug from the house sheriff (Lauren's dogs). This isn't a fancy 5 star hotel, this is an experience, this is a magical place to stay that is unlike any other. It makes your heart sing and calms your soul. If you want modern and fancy, this is not for you. But if you want comfort, cozy and a sense of belonging in a gorgeous setting, don't pass this beautiful place up!

Fantastic stay! The owner allowed us to stay 2 hours past checkout time, so that we could enjoy the nearby Georgetown Loop Railroad. Great breakfast! Beautiful inside and out.

The amount of 4 to 5 star reviews of this “hotel” is alarming to me. Upon arrival we were greeted by two mangy stray dogs. We brought our dog with us and immediately didn’t feel comfortable letting him out of the car. You could tell the building was falling apart just by glancing at it from the outside. Inside the front door there was a sticky note written by the owner that said “any discomfort you feel during your stay is part of the historical experience…we will charge your card.” Not a great sign. The rickety stairs leading up to the room had a 20 degree tilt. The rooms were dark and dingy with a strong mothball smell. No one was there to check us in and this place had the eeriest energy. You could feel the tilt of the building just standing in the rooms. Charging $100 a night is Highway robbery to be frank. When we emailed to express our concerns we never received a response. My assumption is that many people show up, see the conditions, and understandably high tail it out of there - with good reason.

Way overpriced, better off staying in Georgetown, CO which is just down the hill.

I cancelled and was supposed to be charged only 1 night as a cancellation fee. I was charged for all 3 nights. Still awaiting my refund...

Talk about an amazing place!!! We absolutely loved it. The beds are so very comfortable (I secretly wanted to take the bed, sheets and pillows home lol)Lauren is a gracious host, and I could have stayed and talked to her for days. I feel blessed to have been a guest in her home. That is how she treated my hubby and I, like valued guests. As far as the house... from the moment my feet crossed the threshold, I was in awe. It is truly a time capsule but not dirty, dusty and old. No way, this place was clean and fresh and so "old timey awesome".The crooked floors are totally cool and original wallpaper 4 layers thick from time after time (since 1880) of being redecorated. We stayed in room 4 and while it was supposed to be a full size bed, it seemed much bigger, actually really large and my husband and I slept GREAT!The breakfast was grab and go breakfast burritos this particular morning, but a hot, home cooked breakfast was offered. Lauren makes homemade muffins, but we left really early as I was on a time crunch. And I couldn't wait for them. So bummed i missed out because I bet they are awesome too, like everything else here. Such care put unto everything. She also makes cookies, (which I did try because she makes accommodations for folks like us, and they were sooooo good)Even though we were up at the crack of dawn, she came down before we were leaving to see if we needed anything and to see if we wanted anything, and a Next time we are ANYWHERE in the area we will stop and be blessed again by staying here.THIS IS MORE OF AN EXPERIENCE THAN A HOTEL and it's amazing! You won't be sorry!

Definitely had a great experience at this hotel AirBNB. Lauren was really awesome with the rooms to the breakfast and coffee this morning. The room I stayed in was very clean and I definitely got a great nights sleep after a day of skiing. I highly recommend the Historic Windsor.
