Costco appears to prioritize their policies over family and health values. My wife and I have always used her membership to do our grocery shopping at Costco. Sometimes we go with our first daughter, sometimes just the two of us. It’s almost like a family activity, so I never felt the need to get a membership for myself.
Last week, my wife had a c-section and we welcomed our second daughter. For the first time in a long while, and probably the only time for a long time to come, I went by myself using her membership. When I went to pay, a staff member named Laura denied my payment, stating that “memberships are not transferable”. Despite explaining my personal circumstances (my wife recovering from a c-section and the fact that I never go alone), over five people denied me the opportunity to continue with my groceries. This was done in a rather rude and uncomfortable manner.
I left, and today we returned to complete our grocery shopping. I came with my wife, who is still recovering from her c-section, and our seven-day-old baby. I hope Laura never gets promoted to a managerial position, as being a manager means managing people and adapting to circumstances. However, her manager seemed as heartless and mean as she was, so she might fit right in.

I went into membership services today to get a new physical card since I misplaced mine. The customer service representative, Shandiss, responded rudely to my request and asked, "is there a reason you need a physical card?" Lady, why else would I be there?! I tried shopping just yesterday and my phone died as I was walking in. Couldn't get inside. Couldn't buy anything. She informed me that Costco is moving away from physical cards. I don't care how much money costco saves me, I'll stop shopping here if they take away physical membership cards. I absolutely hate being reliant on technology. I told my gym the same thing. On that note, she could have just done her job and got me a replacement card like I asked WITHOUT the snide comments. I pay my membership fees. I don't know what's happened in the last year, but I have poor service pretty much every time I come to this location. The front end needs an attitude check. Seems like age discrimination to me.

Tires - the people working were very nice but the service is extremely slow and not great communication. Definitely don’t go as a drop-in. I needed my tires replaced as I had a slow leak. Ordered the tires online and couldn’t wait a week for the next appointment. It took 2 days when I was the first drop in appt both days. Called 9 times to check if the tires were finished, then when they did complete the job, nobody called.

It's a Costco, even more ubiquitous than reviewing a Walmart.
