I sent my Asolo 520 hiking boots that had a delaminated sole to Rocky Mountain Resole for repair in Jan 2024. The upper leather was in great shape. RMR put on a new Vibram Bifida sole. They did a great job and I am happy that I can get a few more years out of the boots. The cost was very reasonable. However, it did take a long time. RMR must be very busy resoling boots. Many of today's hiking boots have polyurethane midsoles which disintegrate by hydrolysis. RMR was very responsive to my text messages asking about status. I will definitely use them again. If you are in a hurry, it may be better to buy a spare pair of boots while you have the old pair repaired.

I highly recommend these folks. They do very good work and provide excellent service. Nice resole of a pair of leather three pin ski boots with Vibram soles. They were communicative and went out of their way to find soles for my boots during all the COVID shortages a few years back. I’ll be taking my winter boots and ice climbing boots there after this season and I’ll hit them up when I need my AT boots done.

Sent my Asolo boots in Sept. 2023. Just had PayPal refund my money today , Feb 2024. Every time I called about my boots I got excuses that were non specific to my boots, so they weren't even aware where they were.. My boots are gone now. This place is horribly unorganized. I don't see how they stay in business. I'm sure he sold my boots.

Cory did a good job repairing my Asolo 3-pin boots. Not a bad price either. But it did take a really long time, and communication was not optimal.

Their resoling process involves sanding down the leather, I assume so the glue will hold. One boot has way more damaged leather than the other, looks ugly. Would not recommend this company to work on $300 boots.

Do not send boots to Rocky Mountain Resole. They never returned my boots. They owe me $110.

It’s been 8 weeks and I haven’t received my boots back. I was told 6-8 week turnaround. He doesn’t return your calls. He doesn’t provide you with any updates or verification. I should have read the reviews before mailing my boots in. The website is broke and he lies about getting it fixed. I get the feeling this place is a scam or a really really poorly run business. I will be contacting Scarpa to have them take this company off of their list.Maybe I will actually hear back from him after this review.

Not a serious business. They might be open, they might not. Hours and business doesn’t matter. Just another disappointment.

I quickly learned that my disintegrating soles on my Asolo boots is a very known thing that Asolo doesn't want to help you with. So I searched around the country for folks who do sole repair. I found local folks who didn't want to do it, and I found one or two places across the country that are very well known for replacing these soles. Among those was Tim, who owns & Runs Rocky Mountain Resole. He personally answered my questions, and assured me I'd be pleased with the job. He wasn't wrong. I'm very happy to have my Asolos back (see attached before & after pics). The process takes a little time, because they're doing things right, and as a result, they're a little busy. But with a little patience, you'll get your favorite boots back in like-new condition. And this is money well spent. With this repair, I didn't have to go out and spend two to four times as much on new boots. If you send them a note, tell them I sent you.

I had two good pairs of boots with lots of wear left in them but with detached soles due to the manufacturers's use of non-time-tested material. Cory's response to my telephone inquiry established my confidence that a repair might well be worthwhile. The results confirm my decision. Nice work!

Outstanding! Sent a pair of Meindl hunting boots (approximately 12 years old) came back and you can tell it was an after market instillation but great work!

I was given as estimate of 4 weeks to get my climbing shoes repaired, which seemed long but I was ok with it as long as it was done in that timeframe. In reality, it took over 6 weeks to get them back, which I think is unacceptable. Furthermore, the shoes I had repaired are the La Sportiva Genius, which have soles featuring "No Edge" technology. I expected to have a similar sole replaced onto my shoes, but disappointingly, that was not the case.
