I can't believe how bad this place is!! I went to ER for a shoulder dislocation and asked what meds they were giving me. Surprised to find on my insurance bill that they gave me a med they did not inform me of. Followup visit with ortho PA who was rude, erroneously documented I was living in a tent implying I was a homeless bum when I had been backpacking the CO Trail prior to my fall and was only sleeping in a tent. Ortho doc followup visit, doc was very rude. Next followup visit, new ortho doc rude also.. Final ortho doc said he would order more PT and pain meds but did not do so, even after I made several phone calls!! Switched my care to Frisco with a very good ortho doc!! Several locals in Salida informed me of how bad this hospital is.

Went into the ER this morning for a broken arm/wrist. Such a great experience from start to finish with everyone in the ED.

Honestly the worst healthcare I’ve ever seen, I started going there three months ago only to go back to Valley Wide . Cant even fill prescriptions correctly and I mean in three months she hasn’t filled one script correctly of medication I need daily ( thyroid meds) but has tried to put me on three different antidepressants in that time????? Seriously though I’m at a loss of words for how incompetent this office is…. Personally I’d avoid Dr.Vanna Irving at all costs unless you want the last ten years of your healthcare to just go down the drain … I have been on thyroid medication for 10years never had a dr not fill it but wanna push antipsychotics like they are candy ….. Seriously not sure how she keeps her job…. If I could give negative stars I would

The doctors in the ER named Lee I believe doesn't deserve to be a doctor my son has been in there 2 nights in a row he has bad croup and unfortunately my son being 10 months I understand there's nothing you can do but when the children hostipal even tells me to hang up and call 911 emediatly I expect you to do something about my child being the way he is I will not be bringing my child back there I also wanna edit this to say doctor lee could have given my baby a breathing treatment to help with his breather I went to children's hospital and they are disappointed in your work as well YOU NEED PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THERE DOING!!! And not lazy people

Worse hospital I’ve ever been to, careless staff, long waits. Only go here if it’s an emergency other than that straight bananas in there.

Heart of the Rockies regional medical center is not a good place to go because of all the problems that they give you they will not tell you everything about family members and not helping me find out how much it is going to cast me to go to the hospital on a non emergency price refusing to help me with a question that I had to ask them

This place overcharges for everything. Ask for a price before you do anything. They just quoted me $6,000 for tonsil surgery, 2 days before surgery after insurance. This is a 2-3k surgery max after insurance. The ENT is a great doctor. The hospitals private ownership has caused a monopoly in the county. I cannot recommend this hospital. Take your surgeries elsewhere. They are too expensive! I never leave one star reviews.

Im new to Salida. I went to the ER today (7/24/2023) because I thought my left eardrum had ruptured & I was still feeling pain after falling & hitting my right upper rib cage 6 days ago. I've been dizzy & delirious for a few days & I regret going this ER because I don't even remember what I signed after seeing the doctor. I feel like they took advantage of my confused state. The doctor was an older man partially balding with white hair & he was heavy wasted. I can't even remember his name but he basically just came in & impatiently barked some questions at me, & If I didn't answer them the way he wanted me to, he would repeat the question again condescendingly as if I was stupid. The end result was him telling me to go buy some clariton because I had an "upper respiratory infection that was causing my left ear to close up." He didn't even bother to look at my ribs & he specifically stated "they could be broken, cracked, or bruised, we're not going to do anything about it right now, but come back in if it gets worse."Then he left and the skinny old nurse with her grey hair up in a pony tale came back & told me the doctor said I didn't have an ear infection so I didn't need any antibiotics.....Ok, well that's weird because he did say I have an upper respiratory infection that was causing my ear to hurt & close up so.....?She then handed me a paper to sign & told me it was "to acknowledge that I had recieved instructions" & in my dizzy & slightly delirious state, I blindly signed while it saying "yeah, I acknowledge that I was lectured & made to feel like I wasted everyone's time."After that, she whisked out the door with the signed paper bidding me farewell & when I called after her to ask which way to go to the waiting room she said "down that hall & to the left...there's a little sign?" with a condescending tone. So in my dizzy state I left the hospital. I took my "instruction" papers & handed them to the lady at the ER front desk & said I didn't want them because all the doctor did was poke at me & tell me to go get Claritin & then I said "Im sorry I came here" & wobbled out the door.It is now 12:11 midnight (7/25/2023) & my right ear is beginning to hurt & feel like it's closing up just like my left. My rib unfortunately still hurts, especially when I try to cough up all the congested phlegm I've accumulated over the week. -But at least I'm following the doctor's "directions" by taking deep breaths while I lay here right?I can't help but wonder now... what exactly did I sign before I left?

I want to share with the community how lucky we are to have Dr Brandon Bentz, ENT, at Heart of the Rocky, Regional Medical Center. He is clearly top notch! I have had 2 appointments with him. He has been clear in his communications and is very friendly and easy to talk to.He answers my questions in lay terms I can understand! He diagnosed and worked with me for recovery on a problem I have had for two years. I highly recommend him for anybody with ENT related problems. I also want to give a hats off to all of the reception/scheduling/nurses in the department for their efficiency and friendliness.

All the staff was great... except the ER doc, Dr. Dan. Zero bedside manner, read through his checklist, didn't ask if I had questions, didn't give recommendations. He's clearly not up to par on the patient experience. Unless you're bleeding, skip going here.

I went to the ER in January 2023. I knew immediately I needed an MRI, but they didn't have staff available to do the MRI. Instead they ordered an X-Ray. The X-Ray came back negative as I expected. They determined that it was a knee sprain and gave me crutches and a knee brace. For all that the bill came to almost $4,000, $3,200 of which was billed to me because I hadn't met my insurance deductible. So basically an X-Ray, crutches and a knee brace cost me $3,200. The injury turned out to be a patella tendon tear, meniscus tear, ACL tear and MCL tear. They didn't write an MRI referral so I had to wait 3 weeks to finally get the MRI because I couldn't get into an Orthopedic Surgeon right away. Heart of the Rockies did nothing to help. At one point I called the hospital to see if they might be able to prescribe me some pain medication and they never called me back to tell me one way or the other. I would never go here again and would rather drive to Gunnison, or further if needed.

My brother went in last spring knowing something wasn't right. He was sent home in a ride provided by the hospital. He couldn't walk or talk by this point. His roommate brought him back in and the ER staff mocked him and thought he was just after pain killers, until social services was called. Then about 2 days after it happened they realized he had a stroke and sent him to Swedish. How can any of them call themselves medical professionals?

Dr. Syre was my surgeon for a recent back surgery. I chose to have the surgery at HRRMC because I found Dr. Syre a careful listener who I trusted. He and his surgical team gave me confidence and the results have taken away the pain and restored my physical health.

Doctor and staff are wonderful, BUT they are charging me more than 3 time the national average price for a implant and have told me it is a normal markup!.Summit county is charging me about ½ of what the hospital wanted for removing screws from my harm.Do not go there shop around you will save a tone.
