Had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish! The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the retreat hut cabin was great, especially for the price. Clean facilities in such a beautiful wilderness setting. I enjoyed all the activities and the meals were delicious. I would love to go back again sometime!

I did my yoga teacher training through shoshoni 14 years ago. It was definitely a valuable experience. I came back up last month for just a day retreat. It is just as beautiful as i remember it. There are many buildings where you will participate or can participate in various things . There are also several hiking trails available to you to use. There are currently a lot of moose in the area so if you go up and are out on the trails be sure to be on the look out. The day retreat started with some art. (this was okay, I went because my friend is into art. if i had been on my own i would have opted to go hiking instead during this time) After this was a break and then yoga class. Then lunch. They have a homemade vegetarian/vegan lunch. You can request gluten free in advance. Their food is seriously amazing! It is worth the price of the day retreat just to come and enjoy the food! It is so so good! After lunch, you can do an hour of volunteer work in the kitchen. It is the kind thing to do especially since the prices of their retreats are actually pretty afforable. give back. After that you have a couple of hours of free time to go do what you please. There is a pond you could kayak/canoe on. Or bring up your paddleboard. go hiking. Sit in the reading room. Sit on one of the hammocks in the trees. go meditate. so many choices! After that you can come back for an afternoon yoga class, and then dinner! Again so yummy! It is rare to find some place that can make such delicious homemade vegan and gluten free food. After that they do some ceremonial stuff, you can choose to participate in that or not. Highly recommend having a retreat here, it was very relaxing.

I just returned from yet another wonderful Shoshoni Yoga Retreat weekend. The ashram experience is wholesome, the people are friendly and welcoming, the mediation, art classes, chanting, and yoga opportunities are simply wonderful. I slowed down and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the delicious meals. The prices are very reasonable. All in all, this was everything I had hoped for--the fourth time! I have been coming here since 1996 and the quality is simply first-rate!

One of my favorite places when I want to dive into peace and nature for a while weekend. The surroundings are amazing, the views, the little lake, the hikes...Then you have the simple, but very clean and comfortable bedrooms. The food is all vegetarian with vegan options and is delicious. I brought a while bag of snacks, but didn't eat any because I was satisfied with the 3 meals offered. The temple is gorgeous, the art room very bright and with at least 4 options of crafts. And the people so welcoming, helpful, sweet.I will certainly be back.

My first time at Shoshoni was wonderful as it’s truly a unique and charming place to visit. Over the weekend my favorite parts of my yoga retreat included the hatha yoga classes (which were 1.5 hours each inc. meditation led by lovely yoga instructors), evening temple with chanting and meditation, sacred art in the art cabin, and the gorgeous views. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating of my food allergies, and my fellow guests were all very pleasant. My friend and I stayed in a cabin, which was spacious, clean and the bed was comfy. I actually ended up having great phone service (T-mobile) so I was able to check in on my family since this was my first time away from my 2 & 4 year olds, but I took a break from technology, otherwise. The itinerary is packed with so many activities that I chose to slow down halfway through my visit and skipped a few things (sadly, didn’t wake up early enough for fire temple) to ensure that I took time for myself to relax in the gorgeous location that is Shoshoni.

We're into week 2 of a 200 hour Teacher training and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The training is amazingly comprehensive and the philosophy clearly explained. No questions go unanswered. They really take the time to make sure we are understanding the subject matter before moving on. Plenty of practice with others going through the training as well. The property, food, and overall environment is incredible. I couldn't have picked a better time of year. I will very much miss the trails and wildlife when I leave.10/10 highly recommend. ?

This is a one-of-a-kind and wonderful yoga retreat. You can pay for a campsite, a dorm room, or a private cabin. You will get amazing yoga classes, beautiful views, delicious vegetarian food. Options for hikes, kayaking, hot tub. My favorite part is no one is trying to convert you to anything.

Shoshoni is a truly magical place! I enjoyed every part of my weekend there, loving the freedom to participate in whatever spoke to me. The location creates a sense of calm in my heart with its serene beauty. The delightful and healthy food is made with love and the yoga instruction is deeply-rooted and true. Our accommodations were clean and spacious. I enjoyed the fire ceremony and meditation with kirtan in the gorgeous temple, even as a person who does not ascribe to religion. One windy day my friends and I puttered about in the art cabin, and the other we hiked to the Buddha Rocks and Rollins Peak with its impressive 360 views. Most of all, everyone who nurtured this experience for us had a kindness and lightness that shone through from all they practice there. My friends and I had a relaxing, joyous, and connected experience that rippled into our lives after the visit. Thank you, Shoshoni.

Shoshoni and the people there have been such an inspiration. When I found out about their yoga teacher training a week before it started, with no knowledge of Shoshoni/ShambavAnanda past what I could find on the internet, I jumped in given the great reviews and the fact that they appeared to take yoga seriously. I had no idea I would come out the other side changed for the better as a person, better as a practitioner of yoga asanas, and as someone who finds comfort and learning through meditation and mantra (fairly new to me prior). They also prepared me extremely well as a yoga teacher, and the effect the people there have had on me in 3 weeks has been profound and life changing. I learned so much more than I ever expected at a YTT and I see why they get such good reviews. I now see yoga as a way to be a better version of myself (and for my future students) mentally, spiritually, and physically, at a very fundamental level, and not just as a way to stay in shape and be flexible. I said that they take yoga "seriously"- and they do- but always with laughter, plenty of breaks, activities, and always modify/accommodate.The food is incredible and made by the instructors who are also the staff; it is clearly made fresh and with love. They are also extremely accommodating and helpful, and again just inspiring and wonderful humans to be around and spend time with. The hiking trails nearby are well marked and take you to fantastic vistas, right from the lodge. I didn't have a car and probably hiked more than anyone when I was there, so access is great. Mats, yoga props, bath towels, toiletries, tea/coffee/water/fruit are always available, there's a hot tub and sauna that are well maintained... I can't say anything negative about this place. I have a loving family back home and I missed them terribly, but I was sad to leave Shoshoni. I will be back one day, I hope. If you have the opportunity to do a weekend retreat, or YTT or mediation training here, you should jump at the opportunity. I'm glad I did. ❤️

Wonderful retreat with excellent food, friendly staff, and lovely programs. The yoga teachers were warm and started out the weekend with basic, simple poses and then we progressed to more advanced practices over the weekend. The Shiva Puja was a highlight, as was the melodic chanting, especially the Saturday evening with Shakti and Turay (spelling?). Our cabin was cosy and had everything we needed--we even took advantage of the hot tub and the sauna during our snowy and cold stay. Absolutely rejuvenating and grounding experience! We closed out the weekend with a snowshoe up to Buddha Rocks on a very well-marked trail.

Shoshoni is my favorite place on Earth! I've been visiting for 12 years on yoga retreats and as a work study student. The meditation practices keep me coming back, because they are real and authentic. My life is so much better when I meditate and Shoshoni taught me how.I love the lovingly prepared food, the kind residents and teachers, the beautiful temples filled with sacred art, and the sweet dogs who will hike with you on the trails of the 200-acre property.Remember a headlamp, snow boots, scarf & mittens, long skirts or dress slacks for temple, and a swim suit for the sauna and hot tub.Only AT&T has service and there's wi-fi in all the buildings, but do yourself a favor and put your email on out of office, put your phone on airplane mode, and tell loved ones to call the office if they really need to reach you. This is the perfect place for introverts and highly sensitive people to unwind and turn their attention inside.

I first came to Shoshoni to finish my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2006. Shoshoni has deep roots in Yogic Tradition. It was through Shoshoni's structure that I developed my own structure for my spiritual practice. I've come to community (sangha) gatherings here over the years and I've always left feeling uplifted with my energetic bucket filled. I love the fire temple, it is such a magical space. The food is so nourishing. The staff is full of love.
