Very friendly staff. I always try to go in if there isn’t a line otherwise you might be standing there for awhile since they are understaffed. So either be patient or come back when they aren’t busy!

I paid over $200 to expedite a highly time sensitive passport application here. I received the entire packet back four days later marked return to sender because the Ouray post office FORGOT TO PUT THE POSTAGE ON IT. I can’t believe the incompetence.

I have lived in the same house in town for close to 20 years. I live 4 blocks from the post office on the same street as the post office. We have a small business and our residence there, but our mail is not delivered to the residence. We are forced to have a P.O. Box. That’s fine, but if our mail is sent to our residence address (friends, businesses, orders, clients). The post office sends that mail back to the sender. Many times we do not know for a week or two that this has happened. Many businesses will not deliver or respond to a P.O. Box. I have asked at the post office how we can remedy this problem. Reactions through the years have run from being scolded and told to put the correct address, to them just putting mail in our boxes like they know us. Or nothing happens and I get the blank stare. The confusion is with the post office. No amount of talking makes any difference. It’s a stone wall. I’d love for this to be worked out but has been an ongoing problem for 19 years. And is currently happening again. Who can we talk toto make this work? It never goes further than an exchange at the counter.

So can hear the big guy yelling at the women. The old woman is screeching out demands to all workers. They all look terrible. BUT it is very clean. Thus how they earn the one star.

The best post office! They take extra care and are always friendly and helpful - I even snuck in a few minutes past closing and they still helped. We use our box number as our extra 4 digit zip and never have a problem getting our mail.

Lose our packages or deliver weeks later. Laura so sweet but others in back are not helping customers when the lines are huge. People step out of line all the time...after having waited 20-30 minutes standing there. Sorry. I'm sure they are all super people but the service and professionalism is lacking.

I have not received any of my mail. I did an official temporary change of address in early December and have RECEIVED NOTHING. In fact all of my packages and mail have been returned to sender without notifying me. I only learned through the senders.Additionally several of my packages have not arrived still from Christmas, all sent USPS Priority. I had one finally arrive to my sister with a giant hole in it and soaking in the rain (the package contained children's books for my niece).I can't get through to the main Ridgway office and have been put on hold. I'm going to be filing a complaint with the main office. I'm pretty upset how poor the service is and will not support the post office after this.

I hate to write bad reviews, but I feel the need to write one due to multiple bad experiences here at the Ridgway Post Office. On 5+ occasions we have gone to pick up packages, only to be turned away saying they aren't there (when they've clearly been delivered, & are somewhere in the back). Too, my partner and I share a P.O. box, and the ladies at the front desk act suspicious when I go to pick up his packages for him (even though we literally share the box). Nobody seems like they want to help or assist, which is super frustrating. It shouldn't be this difficult, nor this uncomfortable, to recieve items that you've paid for.

Not sure what the other reviewer is talking about...this place is such a sht show! It all falls on managements shoulders. They bark contradictory orders to their employees in front of customers, and don't even bother helping when they see a huge line and have an extra employee to spare. There are always issues getting packages and a majority of or stuff sent out doesn't get to the destination for 2+weeks!!! We get package pick up slips then after waiting 30min are told there are no packages- only to track the package to our post office (this happend 4 times)...We desperately need a new post master in ouray county!! Btw Laura is awesome! Death to the postal service- it's time for privatization of the mail system!

Great service and always with a smile. Long lines around lunchtime do move rather fast. Ask for stamps that are not selling well for a funky collection of postage options. Packages are kept in the back.
