A wonderful area of Uncompahgre river walks, wetlands, Colorado Mesa etc, with some great wildlife to be seen. The stone feature and giant eagle sculpture in a small area of created garden honour the sacred place of the Ute tribe. It's a really special place.

A friend and I were stuck with absolutely nothing to do and came upon the Dennis weaver memorial park. William Dennis Weaver was an American actor and president of the Screen Actors Guild from the 1950s until his death in 2006. He is known for his roles as cowboys and deputy marshals in classic TV shows like Gunsmoke and McCloud. Overall it was lovely. -Ellie

We love coming from Colorado Springs to rest and reset at the park next to the Uncompahgre River. I have left a butterfly ? in my Mom's honor and released some of her and my Dad's ashes in the river. This place holds a place in my heart. Did I mention riverside picnics and grass to play in? A must see
Toilets: Porta potty is at the parking lot and clean and maintained
Dog-friendliness: Be courteous and pick up the poop! Lots of rocks to sniff
Picnic area: Riverside picnic table and maintained grassy area

It's a very peaceful and spiritual place. The prayer stone stacks are great. It's truly a little gem, and it's in honor of Dennis Weaver, the actor and wildlife activist.Restrooms: Portable toilet by parking area.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome in most areas here.
