The employees are all friendly and efficient! Don’t understand the bad reviews!! You can’t blame them for the long lines! They handle all of it the best they can!!

Alan is the only good thing about this office. No one answers the phone. Lines are out the door. Zero staff. Mail gets lost, stolen etc. don’t ship to Pagosa via USPS. Total incompetence. 30 year resident.

Please hire more people ! It's always an extremely long wait to pick up packages at the front desk . Our small town has outgrown the small staff that is working. Great workers just need more help

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. I always have a pleasant experience here. The staff is incredibly helpful and always positive, even when they are slammed for hours at a time. The lines can be long, 30-35 minutes on occasion (especially on holidays/black Friday). People should be able to carve that time out of their day. Come after work, not before. It's not rocket science.Pro tip, if you are having stuff delivered from a sender that won't send to PO Box, just put "123 address/PO Box number". Or, put PO Box in the second address line on the shipping form. That way, all the information is there and the postal workers can put a slip in your box to pick up your package. I've never had an issue doing it that way.I guess people feel personally affronted because the limited staff can't work faster. It's not their fault. Another person asked "why is the building so big?" That's a silly reason to leave a negative review. If more people had mailboxes at home, they wouldn't need a warehouse for everyone's parcels. That's how it is in small mountain towns. This post office rocks.

Amazing! We received so much personal assistance from the postmaster, Nester Rivera, and an employee Alan. It's so heartwarming to be care for by people with a neighborly spirit!

This post USPS office is the worst, literally in the country. Living here since 2013, continuously missing mail, returning packages and mail to sender because we don’t have a mail box at our home, which is not our fault, we pay taxes and they should provide a box. Instead they keep blaming each other between the USPS and the HOA . They provided a PO box, but many businesses we receive mail from, don’t accept PO box addresses. We have explained this to the post office, the could not care less. The lines are always so long, is a nightmare. The need to update their system, hire more personnel and have the estate inspectors come to check this particular office. Every time I have reported an issue, the central USPS passes the report to the local office which is a good his same usps that Im reviewing, and the problem persists and nothing changes for years and years. How can this be ???!!

What a big beautiful building to house such a tiny little staff. We were in town trying to mail a postcard and it took over half an hour. Suggestion, maybe put in a stamp machine! This is the slowest post office I've ever dealt with.

This post office is a really big building for such a small town. Why is the building so big? Why do they need so much space?I went in to buy postcard stamps on a Thursday morning. Three (or maybe four) people were in line in front of me. Only one worker was helping the people in line. Another worker was handing packages over to one customer. After she handed over the packages, she disappeared. I don't know where she went. When it was my turn at the counter, the worker was very friendly and helpful.

They will not deliver your package if it does not fit in a standard mailbox. They will put delivery attempted, but in truth, they did not attempt to deliver. The mail carrier doesn't even bring the package. Everyone in town has to go to the post office to pick up their packages. I have spoken to the postmaster. The postmaster stated that the mail carriers are contractors and are not required to deliver packages if the packages do not fit in the carriers vehicle. This is where the loophole is and i can assure you a pair of shoes will fit in the vehicle. Long lines, added time and expense. It should be a crime to not complete the delivery that has been paid for.

Extra long line at 11:15am, people in line were friendly and chatty! I waited about 20-25 minutes. The postal associate that helped me was extremely knowledgeable, took care of my undelivered package issue, and was very pleasant!

I don't know how this post office still exists. They never answer the phones, constantly deliver mail late or lose items, and if you have something that needs to go to the UPS store, good luck, they always hold things an extra day or two at least.

Most of the staff is rude and/or incompetent. Inside of building is filthy, trash is never emptied. Wish I would've taken a pic!

I stood in line for 30- 35 minutes two days in a row at the front desk only to learn that a package I was expecting was delivered to a postal box that they have not yet made keys to. Then I left a message for the carrier to call me so I could pick up the package before we left town, but no return call. The front desk workers were very courteous. Very frustrating.

May-Front desk was very helpful in getting my package. I saw purpose and customer service today.Update: Having gone back several times now, I think it depends on who you get to help you. Sometimes, I get a friendly customer service representative, and other times not.I was told to come back after 1:30 for packages on a Sat. They close at 2. I tracked my packages, and although it says ready for pick up on my end, this isn't so. I'm learning.
