And the Worst Award goes to this City Market deli. Worst!!!!Absolute worst deli fried chicken on the planet. My kids wouldn’t eat it…..my wife wouldn’t eat and the cat wouldn’t eat it. I was ordering a three piece meal and the lady serving me told me that “You can only have a two piece. I advised her that I wanted a three piece meal…..and she made the same statement again. I told her a three piece and charge me accordingly……Nope she would only give me a two piece……then she asked me for I wanted the meal after me telling her twice that I want the meal…..DUUUHHHH!!!! The chicken was sooo dry it was like jerky…..kid you not….jerky. Gave me dinner roll but had no butter……YUMMY dry bread. The corn must have been in the warming pan since the early AM hours….my purchase was at 4:10 PM today. If this store is selling this chicken as “Chester’s Chicken”, Chester would roll over in his grave. Nasty stuff. Deli looked antiquated and dirty. Store looked outdated and run down. Will not be back again. And if I could give it zero stars,I would.

I'll start off by saying I have a very difficult child who is stubborn and argumentative. ( We are currently working through these matters through the proper channels but really that's not what this is about) Anyway some days getting out of the house fully clothed is a real achievement. My son doesn't like wearing shoes and obviously I don't like this and obviously I insist and demand he wear shoes but some days this just doesn't happen and I have to pick my battles so he will be shoeless. I try and have him sit in the car most times this happens but when he gets scared I can't help the fact that he will run into the store barefoot. Well tonight this happened and this older man from your produce section not thinking I was the childs mother was standing next to me speaking to his co worker saying that he sometimes wished the kids would just cut there feet. Like for real?? That's what your hoping for? He has no clue about my life and our situation and what he wishes is that my child injures himself? Maybe try having a little compassion for others as you don't know the challenges they face outside your presence and keep your comments to yourself sir!

Small store for a city market. Lacking selection. Lacking a lot of things. Deli is pitiful. Produce is just as bad. Meat and fish counter, WHAT meat and fish counter. Even the lunch meat selection is poor. Cheese counter. IN YOUR DREAMS What grocery store has poor can goods section. Can you say New Castle. The staff is sometimes helpful. Ryan is a good guy very helpful. I have seen the produce department be rude.

Generally, City Market is a decent grocery store, but this one in New Castle is small + it's like a big convenience store. The employees are nice. They just don't have that much of s selection.

I love this goofy city market. It's hit or miss on produce but usually pretty good. They have some hard to find stuff and a good collection of vegan cheeses and meats. Prices are really great.

I have always loved the New Castle City Market. There are people that have worked there a long time that you know and everyone has always been very helpful. No issues with them at all.The corporate end is really getting aggravating. They have consolidated most items down to no choices and then there is no stock as the shelves are so narrow. But hey, they took a bunch of floor space for groceries so they could have beer and wine! At some point soon Kroger needs to realize they need a bigger location. This was great for the New Castle area of old, but times have changed and the store is too busy for its size. Unforunately, I still find it a better option than going to Glenwood or Rifle. And I still go to the liquor store when I need alcohol...

All the fresh garlic bulbs go bad in less than a day. When they start growing green sprouts that means the garlic has turned. Just bought two more today and both of them are also bad. If garlic is turning green on top it is bad. Stop selling rotten garlic.

Stock seemed low. I couldn't get half of what I needed.
