The staff here really cares about the welfare of the dogs. They work hard to match the right dog with the right owner for the benefit of both! They go the extra mile for every dogs well being!

My family and I initially adopted a dog there and failed to tell me about this dogs behavior and potty habits let her know the difficulties I was having and offered little advice. With no choice and no other options we gave the dog back to the shelter and the manager was upset and banned us from ever adopting there again. She claimed because i lied about the whole situation but she had no right to be insensitive and cruel . this shelter is a dump these dogs are living in flith and stink . I DO NOT recommend to adopt!

Zero if it was possible. They won’t accept strays! And don’t answer the phone . I Had a puppy show up that didn’t get the memo not to get lost before after 4 or before 11 and definitely not a Monday!I Tried to take a different stray here in July 2019 they refused him and again now in December of 2022 the refused again they said I would just have to keep this puppy. I had him for 2.5 days my dogs did not take to him at all plus I rent my home. They were doing fundraising today…. Asking for money while simultaneously refusing to help the animals they are supposedly sheltering. What a scam! Between the refusal to take him and their hours no wonder so many animals are homeless and getting dumped in the country. We ended up taking this sweet puppy at the d*** friends in alamosa.

Amazing people running the shelter. They are extremely good at their jobs and very loving towards every dog. Each dog has a story and they make sure they are all being heard

These folks are just loving, caring people. I took my best friend to them after he passed away for them to cremate him. They MORE than understood my grief and were wonderful.

The staff was very professional, and helpful. Dorthy is a Christmas gift for my husband, as his best friend passed away three weeks ago. I can't wait to bring her home. Thanks Guys, for making this happen.

I don't about how treat live animals but they were rude with cremation. They told me it would be 3 to 4 weeks, at 4 weeks, nobody called. I called left a message, nm obody called me. A couple days later I called left a message. I called a couple and got somebody, he didn't know if my dog was done I told him to go look. I got a call back in about 10 minutes from a woman that said "I don't appreciate being spoken to like that". I asked when my dog would be ready she said" we had a lot of animals come in" and " the crematory wasn't working right". I had my son call them the following week after I had left another message. They could have spoken to me at anytime about the issues they were having, but they yelled at me and then ignored me. My dog wasn't just a dog she was my girl and she was very much.loved.

Called ahead about a dog, (Doger) asked if he was available. Chris the assistant manager said, "YES". Went down that day to meet the dog, and I put a $50 hold on him.I was called the next day by the manager, Stevie. She said, she had a scheduled a meet and greet for the dog the next day. They decided they like the dog.I was told, Chris made a mistake, and the dog was not infact available. Apparently they have a few places that they post if the dog is on hold or not. They use sticky notes, and a white board. They have a real system in place (I say sarcasticly)I would've been cool about the mix up, but Stevie didn't even apologize. She was cold, and heartless . When I asked her questions trying to understand what happened she gave me attitude like it was my fault.I sincerely hope she treats the dogs better then potential adopters, because her energy was so negative and sad. This shelter needs a update on a good system and a caring employee.

Great, helpful staff. They worked with us on our recent fur baby at a pace that worked for us and we couldn't be happier with our new girl, Finesse.
