Love this studio. Dan is absolutely amazing and so talented. I took lessons from him for several years and learned so much. He can be a bit gruff but he’s only being over protective. Nobody wants to make a mistake while working with lava.

Fun experience! Daggett was awesome. His shop isn't the cleanest, but its a working man's shop. I didn't find anything to be concerned with as far as safety goes or hygienic issues. He watches you very closely to ensure your safety. He goes over the heat sources and safety concerns prior to anyone starting. Pretty sad to see some of these reviews. This man has generously opened his shop and home to people for a true authentic experience.

We had a great time with Dan! He helped us make beautiful Christmas ornaments and taught us a little about the history of glass blowing. His teaching style is straightforward and concise due to safety (it’s molten glass after all) but we found him to be friendly and helpful. I recommend this as a fun date idea.

Disappointing. Would not return to this studio.I purchased the introductory glass-blowing class for two. It was a bit of a challenge to schedule, involving several phone calls back and forth with changing availability on Mr. Daggett's end. Once we had the appointment scheduled for mid-October, Dan did provide more detailed instruction on how to find the place and what type of clothing to wear. This was helpful information that some others apparently did not also receive.Dan was friendly enough when he greeted us, but that did not extend to his teaching style. He gave brief instructions on selecting colors for our ornaments. It was clear he was concerned about safety with the flames and hot items in the shop. However, the shop was covered in dust and glass fragments, and we did not see him sanitize the blowing pipes we used. After perfunctory instructions, we began. My friend went first, and when he yelled at her to, "TURN! TURN!" neither of us knew if he meant to turn the pipe or her body. It was the beginning of a nerve-wracking and flustering experience. Once the glass was heated enough we had to kneel on the glass-fragment-covered floor in order to blow the bauble. When we finished (about 45 minutes later), I paid an extra $20 for Dan to ship the ornaments to me, and as instructed wrote down the colors we used on our ornaments so he could identify them. When I called two weeks later to ask about the ornaments, Dad said he'd ship them in the next few days. Six week after our "class", no ornaments had arrived. During another follow-up phone call to Dan, he said he'd ship them the next work day. I asked for a tracking number. He called a few days later with the tracking number. The package arrived with ONE ornament inside not wrapped in any way, but sitting on some tissue paper, a "RECEIVED UNSEALED" sticker on the box, and "REWRAPPED-RESEALED" tape from the post office. The one ornament that astonishingly arrived intact does not appear to be the one I made - it is shaped differently at the top.I will never know if the missing ornament was ever included in the package. After so much delay, and knowing the disarray in the shop, I doubted Dan would have any way (other than the colors we used) of know which ornaments were our, or of finding them.If we decide to try glass-blowing again, we'll find another studio.

Got this via Groupon for my Mom's birthday and we had a great time!! Dan was friendly and super knowledgeable. His instructions are stern, though in this setting I think you have to be (ie, 2000degree heat). We plan on going back and making more ornaments! I recommend everyone else who commented read the fine print before booking ;)

Wow... This was definitely an experience... I found this place from a Groupon - and even at the "discounted" price I don't think it was worth the money. The place was hard to find, scheduling was very difficult, we were not really given much instruction before we came so we were caught off guard by all of the "rules" that weren't explained ahead of time. The instructor was not nice at all... He's a grumpy guy and I felt as though he didn't really care if we had a good time or not.Don't even get me started on all the safety issues of this place.... broken glass EVERYWHERE, power tools lying around, and there was NO safety instructions before we got started... It was just jumping right in.It was not explained to us ahead of time that we would have to leave our ornaments there to cool overnight... We live in the Denver Metro area so its not exactly convenient for us to get up to this studio....The ornaments are NOT organized or labeled WHATSOEVER, you're just supposed to remember which one was yours - and they all look exactly the same.....We were mostly thrown off by how rude the instructor was. We messed up a couple times and the guy yelled at us... I couldn't believe it...I'm really not sure how he's still in business. But hey... we have crazy stories to share now.

I'm not sure if the good reviews are even legitimate.... Please DONT WASTE your money. It's not a good deal.I was made to believe this class would be an hour or 45 minutes,it lasted for 20 if that, as I looked at his shop for at least 5 or 10 minutes of that. This shop is Incredibly dirty. And I dont mean glass or regular dirty. Its pretty gross to be honest. I got zero Instruction(for an intro class?) and was just handed gloves and glass and said let's start. But then he yelled at me the whole time for not knowing how to do it... and told me if I made one more mistake I'd be out the door... but yet explained nothing to me.He also does not make it clear you cant take it home that day... and I expressed I lived almost 2 hours away and he didnt care and instead tried to have me purchase one of his glass pieces he made for 200 dollars and even let me know an ATM was up the road. Also a very hard place to find. Please dont waste your money!

Buyer beware. It's hard to know where to start in reviewing Daggett Glass Studio. The owner clearly cares about sharing his craft. Unfortunately, the studio itself and the owner's delivery of the glass-blowing class leaves much to be desired from several key aspects, including safety and basic cleanliness and any semblance of teaching. Concerning the studio: there are large bags of glassblowing materials and tools everywhere in the cluttered space. There is no public restroom or even a sink to wash hands or get a drink of water despite the intense heat in the studio. There is, however, a strong odor of urine or something decaying. One of my fellow students during our lesson is a firefighter and noted several major fire code violations. Concerning the glass-blowing class: there was no lesson. There was no example provided. There are, however, two very hot furnaces into which the student inserts and rotates molten glass on a pipe, and then the student carries the pole and molten glass over to a table where the owner helps to shape the orb while the student blows through the pipe. The owner guides the student by yelling unclear direction and then by derision if the student misunderstands. For example, one of the instructions is \

For example, one of the instructions is "TURN, TURN!," which may mean to either rotate the metal pole with the molten glass on the end, or to remove the pole from the furnace and turn toward Dan so he can shape the glass. I cannot underscore how stressful and unpleasant this experience (that I paid for) was: if you enjoy mind-reading a drill sergeant while surrounded by furnaces and/or waving around molten glass while being berated in front of others, this one's for you. Otherwise, preserve your funds and your self-respect. My group of four didn't even end up returning a few days later to pick up our cooled and dried ornaments because we did not want to engage with Dan again. There is a lot of "student work" in the front of the gallery that is unclaimed, which makes me suspect we weren't the only ones to decide that stepping foot back in that literal hellhole wasn't worth it. Again, buyer beware.

I would not recommend this glass blowing studio. Firstly it is VERY dirty and smells like cat urine. I doubt this place would pass a health department exam... my husband and I took a class here and we were both in and out in under 20 minutes. It was our second time glass blowing and we felt like the instructor was burdened by us needing help. He also yells and does not communicate or teach well. When we went to pick up our ornaments, he didn't even know which ones were ours! Then, he was arguing me about the one I wanted to take. It was very uncomfortable. I was hoping this would be a better experience but we will not be retuning to this place

please consider going somewhere else. It is worth the money.I bought a class here for my dad for his birthday this year. I called the studio directly - was told to book my dad a beginner class. $60 for a 45-60 minute class. I didn't ask for it to be this cheap. I told Mr. Daggett that my dad had blown glass before so he was wanting to explore glass blowing a bit more - was met with a friendly response on the phone "yes, for sure we will make an ornament and a paper weight with color etc." again I did not ask for it to be this cheap but I have never booked glass blowing before I didn't know what it should cost...I clearly didn't do enough research. On the day of his class - my dad was told he could make either a paper weight or an ornament and when he asked if he could explore more Mr. Daggett said "that's all the time you paid for". He didn't explain things well at all and often yelled instead of communicating. The class was no where near 45 minutes in fact - the whole experience including introductions, walking around his studio, removing and hanging jackets, putting on the gloves, glasses was less than 25 minutes. When he called to come pick up his ornament - Mr. Daggett asked which item was his and my dad told him - a blue ornament - then Mr. Daggett said AND WHAT ELSE. My dad said you didn't let me make anything else. We picked up his ornament from a mailbox unwrapped just sitting rolling around in a mailbox in the middle of winter. Maybe Mr. Daggett just didn't like my dad maybe he's always like this. My dad is a person of color so wouldn't be the first time. Support somewhere else if you can. It's worth the extra money I promise.

It was interesting to see this form of glass art. Both my husband and I attended and each made a different product. Dan was not a great teacher, he had a short temper, did most of my husbands work and sat around after giving us little instruction because his back hurt. If I ever do glass blowing again it definately will not be at this place.
