It's difficult to trust mechanics, but Mike at Twin Peaks Auto is who I've taken our cars to for years. He has always been personable, reliable, and fair, and has never tried to upsell me anything. Plus, he always tries to get the job done as quickly as possible, and has even gone out of his way to get me on my way.

Mike and his employees have serviced my car for a number of years. Thankful that I was given a referral to Twin Peaks Auto Repair.

Mike, the owner, owes me. Not only did he fail in babysitting his green technician on my engine work, but completely failed in being fair. My warranty company paid him to replace a head that he stated was cracked at the spark plug bung. Needless to say, both heads are perfect! That's why he sent them out to be planed, at Carquest by my brother in the parts world. Mike's then technician was too short to install a head correctly, or any and all of the gaskets, upside down and backwards, blocking coolant flow to and from the engine, so in the process of placing the head onto the block, he cracked my lower intake manifold and the gaskets have a guide pin so you install them correctly ( obviously still missed that). And, on the valve rocker, another one of the tech's mistakes! There was a failed helicoil, installed incorrectly why? Power tools where power tools do not belong... and I'm not even mentioning all of the bolts that were too tight and or too loose! I am disgusted to see the truth under the hood of my vehicle! The ONLY reason it took time to show its owies is because of the simple fact that I was 5min to and from work. Ten years without a heater in Colorado, and the whole time it was the heater core! Not my engine that is now sitting. And what will Mike do? Send me pictures of his new car. NOT impressed, not happy! Integrity is lacking in the world.
My father's truck! Another huge no no! Thank God my husband is a man of intelligence, he fixed my father's truck in no time! And he won't die anytime soon due to loose bolts.

This place wasn’t any good for either my wife her dad, or my sister. They must have had some shoddy mechanics in there during this time and Mike the owner failed to supervise them properly. The one car needed to have the heater core replaced as it was plugged with stop leak. They ended up pulling the heads off and completely missed the point. The reassembly was done without any kind of skill and so the motor was damaged as a result. The other car just needed some emissions parts replaced, after $2500 being spent it still didn’t pass but when a $45 EGR valve was installed, after the fact by someone else! It passed emissions.
My father in law had his truck brought in there for some leaks and they left the front suspension shackle for the front differential completely loose the nuts were able to be turned with one’s fingers. It still leaked. I think there’s a need for this company to make money at whatever cost. When my wife tried to ask Mike fir help he sent her a picture of his new corvette to her? Was this a way of making her feel bad? If you have plenty of money to throw away take it to Twin Peaks. No I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you need something simple done like an oil change. Maybe not?
Update… Mike contacted my wife and was willing to refund her for all the time lost. But when he realized how much it would be he replied, “Let me think it over.” On the promise that I would take down this post. There are several other people that my wife and I have learned of the bad experiences with Twin Peaks Auto. When looking at his reviews on his site he is able to take any bad reviews out. So if you have money then go there because you’ll need it.
After about ten days of waiting I don’t think he is willing to do anything. We have not heard back from him about settling with us.
It doesn’t matter how long ago this was done. The work had been done at this shop and it was done incorrectly. The reason for the time it took to come back was that over the course of time these incidents occurred. I was a friend of the owner since we were very young. I did not want say anything about the first two incidents because of this. But the utter disregard for that friendship by treating my wife my sister and father in law this way, was when I decided to post this. A friend should honor that friendship rather than disregard it by swindling three people in my life. I am sorry but the question still stands and a business owner should right his wrongs no matter how long ago they were. It’s just another example of people taking advantage of ones kindness. Also the last work done was on my wife’s car that was in February of 2021. So that was not ten years ago. Plus it was under warranty and he was supposed to replace the head in question. It was not replaced and this could have some implications as to his honesty. I don’t believe this matter will be resolved unless there is a legal action taken.

I’ve been to a number of auto repair shops in Longmont over the years, but for the past 6+ years, I’ve gone to Twin Peaks Auto Repair exclusively for my three cars! I can usually get on their schedule quickly, and they’ve always done a great job for a very reasonable price. Mike is awesome, as are all the staff!

I will preface this by saying that Mike is fantastic. I always felt well taken care of, and I never felt like he tried to take advantage of me like other mechanics tend to do to young women. Unfortunately, the last few times my family and I have come in we interacted with Matt. Matt enjoys giving you quotes for services that are twice as much as they will cost anywhere else. In particular, I asked for a quote to get an upstream oxygen sensor replaced. In Matt's words, "for some reason" the part that would be needed cost $200 more than it did from even the most expensive vendor. The total quote to replace the sensor was $650. Needless to say, I took my car home without getting it repaired. The next day, Matt called me to explain the cost was to do with the warranty on the item but that he was able to talk with their vendor and cut the cost of the quote "almost in half" to $416. If you are going to lie Matt, at least make it a believable one. Your customers aren't as stupid as you think they are. He has done the same with both my brother and my father for different repairs. I used to recommend this place to everyone, and now I encourage people to go anywhere else. I've since sold my old vehicle and will not be bringing my new one here.

Twin Peaks Auto Repair has taken care for my family’s cars for about 20 years. They are professional, prompt, caring and hospitable. Over the years, their advice and care has saved me lots of money as well. I can’t imagine taking my cars anywhere else.

Mike and his team at Twin Peaks Auto Repair are amazing! They were able to get my vehicle in and repaired for a great price and faster than any other shop in town. Their honest, straight forward communication is second to none. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone in need of a great mechanic.
