I attended the memorial of a woman with Intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) on March 6th. The pastor, and I don't remember his name, did a really good job with her service and seemed to understand IDD very well. Turns out his favorite author is also a minister who founded L'Arche, a self sustained community for folks with IDD and their helpers. Just one thought though, although it's tempting to turn folks with disabilities who have passed into saints, what I've learned over many decades, and some of their funerals is their service should not dwell on them being special or enlightened. Having recently attended a funeral at another church where the pastor absolutely did not get it right, thanks to Howe for coming through for our dear friend and her family. And the table arrangement replacing pews made for more conversational tributes, which was great. Very professional staff all around.

Every step was handled with the utmost care and respect. Every request was met and the private service was exactly what my husband wanted. I do not hesitate to recommend that you use their services.

Where to start with this company. It looks like to me that Howe Mortuary & Crematory wants you to believe they are a locally owned funeral home. However that is far from the truth. If one was to do some simple research, you'll find out they sold the real estate to SCI for 1.8 Million in 2016 and before that were owned by Allnutt.Who is SCI you ask? They are a publicly traded company based out of Houston, Texas. They have made their billions going around and buying up these long established family owned funeral homes. SCI will retain the name and sometimes some of the staff during a transition phase, as to make you think you are dealing with someone local. Here is an example, their website says " To this day, Geoffrey and his staff continue to provide the highest level of personal and professional service in the area." Check out the picture of their staff, as there is not a Geoffrey that works there.Carroll- Lewellen located at 503 Terry Street, looks to be the last remaining locally family owned funeral home in Longmont. I say this because Ahlberg Funeral home looks to of sold its real estate to SCI for 1 million in November of 2019. Howe and Ahlberg websites are now both Dignity aka SCI.We live in an era where we need to focus on taking care of our locally owned businesses before we spend our hard earned money with a publicly traded company that only cares about sales numbers and profits, not your feelings. Why do you think they push packages with stuff that's not needed? My guess is they pay a bonus/spiff to the Funeral Directors for selling a package. If you take your time and research and dig deep on the internet, you'll find out that they pay their employees, that makes the money for the company poorly (Salary: $16.35/hr.- $23.30/hr) for Funeral Director in the Longmont area. Another example of how poorly they must treat their employees is, SCI will supposedly pay a removal tech $12.32-$14.65 per hr. Carroll-Lewellen looks to start that same position off at $15.50-$18.00 per hour.I would be very upset as a consumer thinking I am dealing with a local funeral home, only come to find out I am helping some CEO buy a new boat or mansion. Do not make the mistake of assuming you are still dealing with the same great company your family did in the past when a death occurred.

Phyllis Medina was amazing!! She anticipated all of our needs and went over and above the call of duty. Extending to camping out in the Dr. office in order to get a signature to process the death certificate or driving to Boulder to get death certificates because Longmont couldn't print them. We could not have had a better experience. The facility was fantastic, food was perfect audio video was spot on. Everything was above and beyond expectation.

Howe Mortuary provided excellent support and customer service in preparing the funeral arrangements for my father. He was a very public figure so it was important that everything was done with honor. Darrie, funeral director here in Longmont did an amazing job to ensure that nothing was missed. I recommend her and Howe Mortuary highly. It made the difficult task of preparing a funeral into a seamless task without much worry or concern.

We lost our sister in October and had to handle the cremation halfway across the country. Mily was extraordinary in every aspect of the painful process. She was kind, patient and compassionate, always available anytime of day, and we had a 2 hour time difference. Her ability to make my family feel at ease in getting our sister back to us safely and promptly was greatly appreciated. I only wish I could have met her in person...Forever gratefulAmy Fleury and family???

We are extremely pleased with our experience with Howe Mortuary. We worked with Connie. She was very caring, knowledgeable, explicit, and able to answer all our questions in an honest and precise manner. She made us feel loved and thanked us for making it much easier for our children when we pass on. We are so relieved to have this taken care of since we spend time in AZ as snowbirds. Howe Mortuary is reasonably priced and extremely professional. Our kids will be extremely thankful to have all details taken care of and not have to do that at an emotional time. Kudos to Howe Mortuary!!!

We had a wonderful experience with the staff at Howe Mortuary. They were professional, kind, and helpful in every way. We worked most closely with Darrie, who was amazing throughout the process. Everything she did was of the highest quality. We have a big family, so lots of us were working on various aspects of the funeral arrangements. Darrie was great at taking all of our input and helping to create a beautiful experience as we remembered our dear father.

Had a great experience considering our loss. We worked with Tom and he did a great job meeting all our needs and wants without pushing us to purchasing anything we didn't need. The urn that we got is engraved for us and paid attention to detail when it came to our loved ones name. It beautiful. Would us them again.
