I took a private tour with some of the folks that run CHR. What an awesome cause. I highly recommend supporting this group in what ever way you can. Time, $, spreading the word…I plan to help in what ever capacity I can. Thank you for all that you do!

One of the best animal rescues out there and one of the first places I ever volunteered as a young child. They have not only improved their process, but now they have become influential to other rescues. It's nice to have a place stay consistent all of these years!

The website is easy to navigate. I found everything I needed on the website. Once I applied to adopt the ball started rolling quickly. The staff is amazing, helpful, and kind.

My daughter and I started working with CHR in, I believe, August last year. We had several horses in mind, but were steered away from them. Adoption coordinator suggested an older horse, Echo. We met her a couple of times and were moving forward to adopt her. Then the rescue decided that she should be a child's horse which was disappointing but understandable because of her age. At the same time we were interested in another horse, Forrest, who was new to the rescue. We were told he would be in quarantine for 2 weeks, then we could meet him after his vet check. That was 4-5 months ago and haven't heard a thing about him or any other horses! In my opinion, CHR doesn't seem very motivated to find their rescue horses new homes!

The adoption manager made us uncomfortable and then wrote us an email blaming the trainers whom we’ve never met or even seen, nor have they met us, for not allowing us to look at other horses. All the while someone else at my very same barn just brought a horse from here and said it was probably because she met the trainers first before the adoption manager, got their approval and didn’t feel intimidated by her like we did. She also told us to go to other adoption places.

I visited from another rescue that I work at and was harassed by one of the employees, Sharon, about the differences in our practices. Will not be back or recommend to our network of clients.

This is a fantastic organization. They truly care about the horses and are extremely compassionate. Rescue horses need homes. These folks will help you to make that happen.
