GO TO ANOTHER VW DEALER. I brought my car in on a Thursday mid-day because the emissions control warning light was flashing. This is where I originally bought my Volkswagen in 2017. I am disabled and it is a 45minute drive from the mountains to bring my car in. My service advisor was David Gadonneix. There were no loaner cars available so I had a friend drive 45min down and 45min back up to my home. I called in Thursday evening and was informed they were "performing diagnosis", okay no worries. The next day, there was no safety inspection or any update in the clickable link, or via text like the other VW dealers I had been to who performed the multi-point inspection and even included video. I decided to give it a day and called in Friday afternoon. They were still diagnosing the vehicle, I asked David for the fault codes so I could write them down and he said he would get back to me with them before close. He never did. I decided to let it remain there over the weekend. Over these several days, because this error was a repeat problem, I had Volkswagen of America monitoring the case to "ensure it would be resolved".
I called in Monday morning, no answer. I call Monday after lunch, and my service advisor was out for the day but I managed to reach another advisor. I asked them for a status update on the vehicle. They just said there's no notes, no diagnostics logged. They said they would talk to the tech to see what was going on and call me back soon. They never called back, so I rang them again and got voicemail, then eventually got through. I asked to pickup the car because nobody communicated to me if it was still being worked on, or what diagnosis had actually been done. They said OK they would have the car ready for pickup.
I arrive to pickup the car, and they don't know where it is. Turns out it was just sitting out in the sun on the lot all day, not getting worked on. I asked for the fault codes they had diagnosed, but they "didn't have them" and it looks like nothing on any diagnosis was written down, if any happened. He did say adamently "we never clear fault codes". Okay sure, i'll look at them myself. I asked what work they had done one the car since Thursday, and the service advisor gave me a blank look and had no idea. I decided to pickup my car to take it to a dealer that is capable of communicating with their customers.
Getting home, I checked the fault codes and they were in fact cleared by the dealer. So this dealer didn't do any dianosis, or if they did they didn't write down anything or log it in any way. I think my car had its fault codes reset and then sat for days without any work happening, and now I'm further back than before I took it in because the codes have been cleaned away. I won't be going back to McDonald to buy a Volkswagen or have it serviced. As an alternate I recommend Emich VW instead, they have been good all around.

Our sales consultant, James Gabrielson, helped me so much while I was buying my first car. I was able to quickly get through the whole process and was able to drive off with my new car the same afternoon. He was incredibly friendly, considerate, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend going to this location when getting a new car and I will probably go back for any of my future cars.

We had a great experience with McDonald VW. We told our salesman Leyton what we were looking for in a used Chevy Silverado. He called to let us know he had one in stock that we might like. The truck has all the bells and whistles we wanted with very low mileage. Leyton and the entire team at McDonald VW were friendly, professional and
knowledgeable without pressure!

Buying a car and working with dealerships is something I usually dread doing, but Miles and the people at McDonald were nice to work with and I appreciate their professionalism. The dealership itself is beautiful and I appreciated the work spaces while I was waiting there during my GTI’s first oil change.

I’m so happy with my purchase of a new Tiguan, and the dealership buying experience was unmatched. Savon went to bat for me to help me get the value I expected on my trade, and Sam helped make it really easy and painless to purchase my car at a great rate. I’ve never had so much fun buying a car. McDonald VW is amazing!

James was able to accommodate all of my needs to the best of his abilities. I spent close to four hours at their dealership purely out of my own indecisiveness and James waited patiently the whole time, offering up help where he could. Admittedly, I was a difficult client but James and the finance team worked with me to get me what I needed in the end. This was the fourth Volkswagen dealership I’ve been to and was most certainly the best in the Denver area.

Tony & Tim were fabulous to work with! We came in pretty ready to purchase a vehicle, pending a few final details and test drives between a VW and a BMW. From the initial greeting until we pulled out of the lot, the service was fabulous! We told the team u front we were not buying one until we went to look at BMWs. They weren’t pushy at all, gave us the facts, explained all the cars features and let us on our way. Then while we were away, they went ahead and started to get the car ready for us in hopes we would return. After a horrible sales experience at Schomp BMW, we returned, signed the papers easily, and drove off with our new vehicle! Ask for Tony or Tim, these guys will take care of you!

Brought the car in for 2 warning lights a front collision warning assist and a low coolant. Was told both would be covered by warranty. Only one of them was covered by warranty (coolant) but there was no issue for the other light and just required recalibration which was solved through the coolant issue recalibration anyways. I was still charged for the diagnostic of a non issue light that came on my dash ($240). 2 other issues were identified and they vastly overcharged me for the labor to resolve one of them (replace a harness to a cable??? $700 bucks). I was quoted the book repair of 3 hours to fix when they already had the car open fixing the coolant leak. I was told it would be cheaper on labor to fix but then he charged me full price anyways in spite of arguing my case. I was also told I had a potential pulley issue that should be covered under warranty but I have an after market pulley so it wasn't covered. The car has only been serviced by VW dealers so that's impossible. Overall my car was there 9 days and it was difficult to get updates. They didn't even have a loaner available for me day 1 and I had to walk home and go back the next day.
Update:
- I reached out to Anailisa who was great. She did a full diagnostic of the issues I was having with the service department and my car specifically and provided transparency and new solutions that fixed my issues at minimal incremental cost to me. I found out my sister (previous owner) actually had the belt, pulley, and water cooler replaced at a non dealer within the last 6 months who was able to warranty the replacement parts. Anailisa coordinated with the warrant company and then discounted the difference to set me back on OEM parts. She even refunded me the front light diagnostic charge that was applied to me previously.
Overall a really mixed review here. The previous service agent was super defensive, unempathetic and difficult to deal with and then Anailisa was great and the total opposite. Not stoked about my car having to be in the shop for basically 2 weeks straight either as that was a huge impact to kids activities for my wife and I.

After purchasing a vehicle from them a few weeks ago I called to ask some questions about my vehicle and about the coverage that was on the car. My calls were ignored and no one has reached back out to me after leaving multiple messages and trying to contact for days. After they made the sale they completely lost interest in me or anything questions that I had regarding my purchase.

THANK YOU! After having a terrible experience dealing with Groove Ford these guys were a breath of fresh air. James was fantastic to work with and really listened to our wants and needs to find us the right car. I cannot thank you enough, we love the car!

Clean, professional staff.
Miles is the best car salesman I’ve worked with. Genuine guy, really wanted to help me out and was super knowledgeable on the vehicle and was accommodating of my what I was searching for. I didn’t purchase anything but when I am ready I’m going back to this dealership and asking for miles!

We received a quote to replace a water pump 4 months ago. Of course we do not expect them to honor a quote that’s months old, we were trying to get a gauge on what the updated price would be. Called in and asked if the quote was valid. Nope. They said it would be very similar $. Fine. Ok so we got an appt and brought it down. 3
Hours later we got a bill and video of what the car needs. Still no quote for the intended service. A bill for $250. Keep in mind we just had the car in there and know what the car needs etc. so I called them to see what the quote is for the service we scheduled the appt for. No quote yet and So now 3 more hours. No quote yet. We called and left a message. Then an hour later we get a quote and it is $1000 more than last time. 2 hours later, had a call with the service person and he said he explained that the last quote they forgot to include the required additional part.
Also they don’t have the part and it wouldn’t be in for another month.
Total waste of time, and money.

07/15/2024 I just ended my lease on a 2022 Tiguan, although I was sad to let her go I was definitely not expecting to receive the superb customer service from my sales consultant Chris Tovrea. I went in with no idea if I’d get into another vehicle or what I wanted to do. Chris made things super easy to understand laid out all my options with no pressure to get into anything I was not ready for. I had a few minor things in my way (on my end) and Chris and Sam (in finance) made it happen for me! These two gentlemen got me into a 2024 Taos and I LOVE it. It’s the right color, it has the special features I was looking for. I’m super grateful to Chris Tovrea and Sam for getting me into my new car! I look forward to doing business with them again when we get my daughter into a vehicle very soon! Thanks Chris and Sam, and everyone at McDonald Volkswagen for taking care of me and my family!
06/2024This may sound weird but I love when it’s time to take my VW Tiguan into Mcdonald Volkswagen. The service and sales staff is always welcoming and provides the utmost care and information regarding your vehicle. Doug from services is very friendly and keeps you updated with potential repairs and gives an honest diagnosis. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because the wait time is a little on the long side but what can you expect when great service is provided, everyone comes here ?.

Chris at McDonald was fantastic and made the whole process of buying the car seamless and stress free. The whole team was very kind and courteous to my family. My daughters kept commenting on how nice Chris was after we left. Thank you!
