Alpine Adventures Dogsledding offers a memorable experience for visitors seeking to enjoy dog sledding in a beautiful mountain setting. The tours typically cover around six miles of trail with expansive mountain views and a stop midway for photos. The weather can vary, but clear, dry days provide especially spectacular scenery, though visitors are encouraged to dress appropriately for all conditions. The activity is suitable for all, including those adjusting to altitude, providing a gentle way to enjoy the mountains without over-exertion. The staff is friendly, professional, and well-informed, creating a welcoming environment for all guests. The dogs are clearly well-cared for, trained, and happy, which is evident in their energetic and vocal behavior during runs. Visitors have the opportunity to visit the kennel afterward, meet the dogs, and even hold the lead dogs, making the experience engaging especially for animal lovers. The animals are treated with love and respect, and their well-being is prioritized, with plenty of food, water, and fresh straw in the kennel areas. Tour options include private sled rides, where guests can drive or sit in the basket, and even lead the sled themselves under the guidance of a skilled guide. Guides like Tyler and Wes are praised for their patience, kindness, and expertise, enhancing the overall experience. The remote location requires some driving effort, especially in winter conditions, so extra caution and time are advised. Visitors often enjoy combining their trip with a meal in Leadville afterward. Tips are encouraged, and facilities are rustic, with portable toilets available. Overall, Alpine Adventures Dogsledding provides a fun, authentic, and well-respected dog sledding experience in a stunning mountain setting.
