I loved my hair the day I got it done, I wanted it a cherry red and a trim and she did exactly that however my hair felt coarse and she didn't do a test strand with the bleach then was surprised how fast it was lighting.By the next day I noticed my "dandruff" was clumping really bad and my scalp was extremely tender and itchy.when I had my family look at my scalp it was extremely red and my skin was flaking off in clumps. I was in pain and had to spend Alot of money getting baby shampoo and petroleum jelly to help my scalp. Then I had noticed my hair was getting extremely tangled, frizzy, and there were pieces of hair on the top of my head that were not even an inch long.... At this moment I was annoyed with what was going on with my hair. I had spent about $230 on my hair to get damaged and my scalp to get a terrible chemical burn. I have dyed my hair many times and I have never gone through this. I ended up calling Ulta after a few weeks bc I was extremely upset with what had happened to my hair. Only for their manager to not call me on the days I was told she would and then tell me that I had dried out my hair..... Baby shampoo doesn't dry out your hair, then told me I couldn't get my money back bc I had waited to long they didn't care that they had chemically burned my scalp. I am very disappointed in Ulta, I've gotten my hair done by a school and they didn't burn or damage my hair. I regret not calling sooner and not takeing photos. I will never be going to Ulta again to get my hair done.

Never shopping at ulta again! Not only do employees repeatedly follow you around if you’re a person of color, they’re also extremely good at not helping customers. I notice an extreme disparity in how they treat people of color compared to white people and in how they treat those who are older compared to those who are younger. Really disappointed on how this company has gone downhill. Save your money and spend it elsewhere.

I just came in and this girl jenaveve I think was her name was literally the sweetest person. I was having a horrible day but she was so kind and attentive and bright she just lifted my spirits. she helped me find a wonderful fragrance for the holidays, she was so patient. I would say I never received customer service quite like that before. I normally never leave reviews but she needs to be recognized!

Came in today looking for a specific gift set. The woman wearing a pink sweater with bright neon pink combat boots left me alone for 2 minutes instead of bringing us to the front with us, then continued to lie to us and say that no locations had the gift set I was looking for. The closest location did have the gift set and I told her that, in response she rolled her eyes and stormed away. I’m not sure if she was having an off day but I have never been abandoned by a worker in a lose like that unless they are grabbing keys. Then for her to come back and blatantly lie to my face, when she simply could have told me she wasn’t sure if other locations has the product or not. I didn’t even ask her if other locations had the product because I knew they did already, she lied to me for no reason and it baffles me how unprofessional that associate was. She should be on cashier not on the floor if she is so incapable of taking care of customers properly.

I have never had luck in any makeup store, trying to find people that were qualified or knew what they were talking about when it came to what I needed personally for me and my skin and I did not expect anything different when I went into Ulta tonight over in Belmar Shopping Center in Lakewood, CO. But I was completely surprised and taken off guard by the manager, Sera, whom, out of nowhere, came up and asked me if I needed anything (which that never happens either) and when I told her I was looking for contour how to contour she knew exactly what brand she felt I would like and the best way to apply it. She gave me options as far as powders or creams, I felt very satisfied in her selection. Then I asked her about finishing spray and primer and she never hesitated. She knew exactly what to recommend. Then I told her I needed skin care and she took me over to some skincare that was in Travel size containers so I could try it and then also I’m traveling. I told her that I really liked , this one perfume I smelled from Estè Lauder and she took me straight to it. Then she made another recommendation based on conversation and for the first time ever, NAILED it! I have never had anyone make a recommendation of perfume that I liked! Then she said oh try this one and AGAIN she NAILED it! 2 perfume recommendations that I LOVED! Bam! I was so impressed! So kudos to Sarah and whoever hired her! She wasn’t just asking if I needed help because the cameras were on and she had really no interest in helping me like so many other sales people at different establishments. You know the ones who seem so put out when you say “actually can you recommend …?” lolSarah waited for me to ask another question. She didn’t push she just listened to me and heard me and actually took the time (actually she didn’t need anytime because she is on the ball!) to make suggestions of value. Recommendations of substance.She’s just genuine, knowledgeable and doesn’t seem like she’s trying to win a contest or meet a quota like so many others do.One time, I had one gal at Sephora tell me she had been in the makeup industry for 20-years and her recommendations were not only some of the worst for my particular skin and shade they were terrible products themselves. I had told her that I hated caky. This gal angreed annd said I would love her recommendation anbd that she was anctually wearing the same product on her face at that very moment and she just put it into my basket! No way! Not only was this gals recommendation terrible for my skin type & shade, it was caky! I was so mad by the time I realized it after walking around with it on for 30 min. Big differences!I hope upper management reads this review and realizes who they have working for them and treats Sera like Gold! Whenever you have someone working for you that exhibits this kind of professionalism mixed with compassion and knowledge you do everything in your power to keep them. They are hungry and motivated and intelligent enough to know how to do their job and do it well. I believe she can take your company far. Good luck hanging in to her because if someone from another company has the opportunity to interact with her, and knows what gem she is, they will snatch her up in a heartbeat!

This Ulta is the only one I go to and I have been a consumer at this store for 20 years and I live an hour away, love the service I have always received at this Ulta. I have been going and having my hair done here and I love my beautiful awesome hairdresser Izzy she is so very good at what she does every time. She is number one with me.God bless all of you always ❤️ ?

Always great serviceAnd my hair stylist Dominic is the bestUPDATE before i gave 5 stars due to dominic at the salon. When they lost him they lost my good review. I had a new hair dresser and I said I'm getting ready for a photo shoot and I need my hair to be improved it was a 200.00 service that includes the straitening and she begged me to trim my hair. So after she charged me 35 for styling that was supposed to be included. Then 257.00 for a full haircut when a trim is 20. Over all the price was 175 and I feel she was taking advantage of a successful woman. And to booklet she made me late for modeling a treatment that was supposed to be 3 hrs took 6 hrs and my hair is still Frizzell out and the color had faded badly. This was supposed to make my hair strong and looking good for a photo shoot yet it fried my ends about four inches. Before she said " you will be so happy with this it's safe for colored hair. Then after she said we'll your not going to like it for four days. I tipped her 40.00 because that's standard tip. But I went back because my hair was dry for a olaplex. She did the most generic version of olaplex and again tried to over charge me fir a style when I said I'm just going to go to bed. I didn't need a style and a blow-dry is included in a olaplex treatment. Can you get everyone on the same page please? Maybe bring dominic back because you're salon is terrible without him

I came in many weeks ago to buy some purple hair dye after not using colorful dye in many many years. The employee that helped me was amazing! She walked me over to the aisle and I described what I needed/wanted and she easily pinpointed which brand would be best. And so I had to come back and leave a review and a photo because I got exactly the results I was looking for thanks to your help! It was so refreshing to get knowledgeable advice while shopping that I can use to dye my hair in the future.

The employees today were actually very patient, kind, and helpful for once. This rating is not because of them. The 1-star rating is because the Ulta Beauty "system was down," and I couldn't redeem my points, so I walked away from my purchase. Sorry that I had to leave the nice employees to put all my products back at closing time. Fix your system.
