the other night when the regular employees were on strike
Well Let me tell you that the people who were working relief for the usual employees
were The Best in customer service
Ever way better than the regular employees who were on strike
they were helpful happy and even bagged my groceries just like the old days
i think if i were the store manager i would hire the replacement team of good workers and let the other employees who went on strike go
the customer service of the people who wanted to be working was out of this world and it was so nice having a good cashier and a man bagging my groceries that was just as nice didn't seam put out like i have seen the other regular employees do
they wanted to be there
they wanted the work and they made a lasting good impression on me and i hope someone important gets this review and does something good for the relief employees who stepped up to the plate and hit a home run grand slam in truly a blessed experience in customer service !

With a strike going on it looked like Ghost Town. A lot of items out of stock and a lot of items overstocked. The nice thing about it going up and down the aisles was an easy navigation. Self-checkout lady was so rude that I put everything in my cart and went to a non-self check out isle. The whole visit made me sentimental towards, and I don't think I'll be shopping there until the strike is no longer.

They treat people very poorly and yell at customers.

Chronically understaffed 😠Why is there always a lineup even at 10 at night? It's like the checkout capacity is constantly throttled to be subpar even during non-peak times, and even at the self checkouts, which are also usually half closed. I feel bad for the staff, when they have time they are always helpful at this location. But they need more workers.

Ive shopped here a long time. My partner shops here, my friends, co workers etc. Recently in the last couple years, their clearance section has grown. A sign of the times and Kroger learning that if they keep price gouging, folks simply won't but it. The other, more concerning change in recent time, is the presence of wannabe-boot-licking security. I've ignored their presence until now. As I was leaving the store today, with a slightly haphazardly filled cart due to the bagger (I really don't mind and don't find him at fault at all) the security guard looked at my cart, filled mostly with clearly visible and brightly colored clearance tags, looked me up and down and said "Got a receipt?", with a tone that more than half implied I was trying to steal something. When I laughed and smiled and said "actually I do" she proceeded to look intently at the receipt, then at my cart, and then at me. I told her she was welcome to empty the whole thing if she thought it was necessary, she smirked and said no. From the strikes happening in the springs, it's clear Kroger is in a spiral, but this is unacceptable. I have always felt respected and treated well by all of the staff, knowing they're doing their best. But I will not tolerate being treated like I have committed a crime by having a full cart full of clearance items. I won't be coming back. And I'll be telling everyone I know, and on every social media to just boycott KS all together. Price gouging, under paying employees, and now treating every *PAYING* customer like a criminal does not make a grocery store that deserves business. The non-security staff at this location are still great, and seeing quite a few of them regularly brings a smile to my face, I feel sorry for them having to deal with a company like this. Don't shop here, unless you too want to be looked down at and embarrassed because you are just trying to afford groceries.

This USED to be my go to grocery store, but the last 4yrs have really ruined this area of Lakewood. Tons of vagrants constantly hanging around and the massive increase in theft has driven the prices at this location through the roof. Selection and quality are abysmal compared to other locations nearby.

Jason is the man!! Always very patient & helpful at the self-checkouts. Not an easy job these days when shoppers are in a rush & have an attitude about folks just doing their job well. I digress, this is the King Soopers I use because of folks like Jason & the chicken restaurant within 🤘
