My kitty Grayson was just getting some updated vaccines and a check up, and the vet noticed his teeth were bad. I was able to get him scheduled for a cleaning and extraction within 2 months! The vet made sure to walk me through the process and explain the extractions. He is SO happy now. It's been a week now and he has been happier than ever! He was purring nonstop the first 3 days. I mean NONSTOP. Now you can just see he's in a lot less pain. He also cuddles more!! Thank you Alameda for taking care of my boy.

We just moved to Lakewood in August 2020 and needed a new vet come March 2021. I made our dog's appointment, and we really only had to wait a week to get her in (not bad, from my POV)! Due to COVID restrictions, you obviously have to stay in your car, but I honestly have never felt more cared for as a pet parent than I have at this clinic. They come out to your car to pick up your pet and explain everything to you. Miguel was wonderful and so kind - 10/10. The vet, Dr. Howard, also came out to the car just to debrief me on our pups annual exam. I have never had a vet do anything like this besides call me from inside the office. I felt like this was such a great personal touch. The exam was quick and to the point as well. I highly recommend this vet. Affordable, kind, and compassionate. Thank you, Alameda Vet Clinic! We look forward to coming here for years to come :)
Just here to update that in 2024 the service at Alameda Vet Clinic continues to be 11/10. Our dog was acting strange, and AVC got her in same day to take a look. Dr. Howard is truly the best vet I have ever experienced. He really loves every animal and is so informative about what's going on with your pet and why. He is never trying to sell you something - he just genuinely cares about your animal. I love this vet so much!

I would no longer recommend this clinic. Their front staff does not communicate with the doctors. We had a very unpleasant experience here recently where they said they would fill a prescription by the morning and to come first thing so our dog could have them. When we arrived at 7:30 (usually when they accept same day sick appts) they were closed with no one around until much later. Doctor showed up late and had a waiting room full of patients without any explanation or notification of why they would be late. We waited for an hour and a half because the doctor needed to approve the prescription prior to filling and then they doctor came out at 9:30 to tell us they wouldnt fill the prescription without an exam (one she has filled before without an exam).
We also had an unpleasant experience where they didn't properly quote us for a dental cleaning. When I tried to check out the charge was almost double the estimate they provided and when I asked about why there was a difference when the surgery went exactly as planned they let us know the estimate was incorrect so they offered us a "discount" which was barely $100 less. For a $1500 surgery that is expected to be around $700 that is hardly helpful.
I used to like Dr. Howard but as he transitions out the new vets have really failed to provide adequate care. We will not be returning and recommend you dont either.

They misdiagnosed my dog’s osteosarcoma as a sprain so I found a new vet several years ago. My new vet closed due to Covid so I thought I’d try them again with a young healthy cat, since the location is very convenient. The office staff can’t manage to spell my let’s name correctly or make the appointment for the day we agreed to, so I’ll move on. There won’t be a third chance.
