The guy with the dark beard was really insightful about how to fly fish the area. Informed me of hatches and flies to match the hatch. Highly recommend the guide service too!

Did an awesome half-day wade with one of their guides (Tyler). Learned a ton and caught some great fish. Also picked up some nice flies for the area. Great experience!

We love The Sportsman for guided fly fishing trips. Extremely knowledgeable and bend over backwards for their clients. We have been coming here for years and are already looking forward to next summer.

Stopped in on my way back to Denver needed some flys I know the bass in my area like. Man behind the counter was pretty rude but other then that it’s a nice shop.

This was an awesome place when the old ownership was still in place. They would greet you and offer tips on good fishing and other information. Their prices were fair and reasonable. The new owners (since 2021) do not bother to greet you, they act like you should be happy that they exist. When asked for an item, they point, do not even bother to get up and show you. No friendly advice or suggestions are offered. The merchandise is WAY overpriced. One expects to pay more in a remote location, but markup should be reasonable. Dan's Fly Shop has become our go to, since this place has not improved since last year. Quite sad, actually. They have a good product but conceit and lack of basic customer service does not work well in the long run. Incidentally, our party of four different families all had the same experience. It is not just the opinion of one. Hope they will learn, would love to give them my business again next year. We shall see............
