It’s a great community park! My only minor complaints are that there isn’t enough parking close to some of the picnic structures and that there’s only restrooms at the boat house. Also, it’s expensive to rent watercraft from the boathouse, but I suppose that’s how the city pays for it.

Great place to get your steps in if you're in the area. Pretty view and lots of exercise stretch stations along the 1 mile jaunt around the lake.

I have been coming to Waneka since I was young. It's such a beautiful place to walk around if you need a little peace and quiet. There is also Frisbee golf on one side and a park on the other.

Waneka Lake Park twice and enjoyed it both times. It's a nice place to walk your dog, have a picnic, or take kids out to play. We had a picnic on a weekend with a couple of friends and their kids. There is a play area with slides, climbing, and swings which their kids loved.I also attended a company picnic here. Note, the park rents out a covered picnic area and you have to pay for an alcohol permit if you plan to serve alcohol. The park also rents out stand up paddle boards and paddle boats in the shape of swans, ducks, & a pirate ship. They do not allow you to bring your personal SUP.The free parking was pretty available the times I've visited.

Had a blast Paddle-boarding with my mom on the lake! Unfortunately they did not have lockers, so I would recommend bringing a plastic baggie for your car keys etc.

Really cute park for kids to play at (with large playground) with covered places for eating. They have paddle boats and stuff like that for rent to take out onto the small lake. Super cute area to sit and watch the water and to walk for exercise.

Was a great visit for a work event. My children and I had a great time taking in the beautiful lake on a paddle boat rental, was a great time. Thanks for having such a clean park, it does look great this year!

A great place for families, groups, or even individuals to come and enjoy a wide variety of activities. There is a large playground for kids of all ages, a large field for group activities, pavilions with picnic tables, BBQ grills, and the boat house offers watercraft for rent during the warm season. A large trail circles the lake for those looking for a nice walk or light jog. There are two parking lots which offer ample parking as well. One thing to note: outside watercraft are not allowed as this is considered a drinking water reservoir. So this is not the place to bring your personal jet-skis, boats (remote or otherwise), or anything else really.

It's a really nice park with a beautiful lake nearby. Perfect for the evening or morning stroll along the trail also while enjoying the beautiful lake view. There are lot of slides available which makes it kid friendly. There are not trees which gives sufficient shade during bright sunny days.

There are many things to admire about this playground. It’s one of the best in the area, and it’s equipped with everything a child could desire. It has shade, it has pergolas, it has restrooms. It’s like a miniature oasis for the young and restless. And what’s more, it’s cool. It’s remarkably cool. You don’t have to suffer the heat like some other playgrounds. You can just enjoy the breeze and the scenery. This is where I’m taking my kids this summer, and you should too.
