Best wine store ever!! Doug, the owner is very knowledgeable about wines, and he consistently makes wonderful recommendations. If you like good quality wine, but prefer not to pay big prices, then Public Wine is the spot!!

Public Wine opened its doors not long ago in the heart of Lafayette, offering a welcome departure from the area's abundance of breweries. The place is not big, but it's very pleasant, with the bottles beautifully displayed, and there is an impressive collection of wines from around the world. A lot of them are reasonably priced under $20, while most remain under $80, high-end ones are also available. What sets Public Wine apart is its commitment to natural wines and its focus on new and unique offerings from the US and beyond. They also work with smaller wine producers which gives them access to limited editions and small batches. I went recently to one of their free weekly wine tastings with a few friends. It was a good way to meet the owner and discover the selection of four Malbecs he had picked for the night. A fun and interesting experience! This is definitely a community-oriented place where you can get advice and learn about what's behind the bottle you bring back home. A great addition to the area!

Got steered to try two new types of wines from someone who clearly loves his job. Same pricing as king soopers while getting unique bottles based off your wants, preferences and event. So worth it

We love this small local wine shop. Came in during one of their Thursday tastings (which are free!) and they have a great shop. Had a chance to meet Doug and Genae and their little pup Stevie, such great people. Doug did all of the wood working in the shop on his own and both are very very informative on all things wine!Glad to have this space to become a staple on public road in Lafayette

We LOVE Public Wine! Doug & Genae are so kind and knowledgeable about wine and have an incredible selection of off the beaten path wines for any budget. They also have some fun selections aside from wine. We got an INCREDIBLE vermouth per Doug’s recommendation. They do free wine tastings on Thursdays that bring the whole community together too! If you’re looking for a bottle for dinners, date nights, rose all days, or just for fun, you absolutely have to swing by Public Wine!!

What a great new wine store in downtown Lafayette! I've been to a few of their tastings and have never had anything that I didn't enjoy. All the wines are curated by the owners, who are also super nice and knowledgeable about their wines, I seem to learn something every time I stop in . Great addition to the neighborhood.

Public Wine is an amazing wine shop that we are truly lucky to have so close to where we live. Doug is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when looking for recommendations. We have really enjoyed the wines (and the occasional bottle of beer or spirits) that we have purchased from Public Wine. We would not hesitate to recommend Public Wine to anyone looking for an excellent, affordable, and unique bottle of wine.
