Great local music store that has a great collection of printed music. I've found many pieces for myself and always found whatever method books or music for my son. They often have the accessories that we need. The staff is always friendly and great to deal with. With so many music stores closing, I am beyond happy this one still exists and will continue supporting it! I highly recommend this location for new musicians to pros (for pro side, you will find your next song project easily).

This little store is tucked away in a shopping center amidst salons and restaurants so can be easily missed, which is a shame because it really is such a gem. They have an extensive collection of sheet music for most commonly played instruments (and more), lots of instruments for rent or sale, and services like instrument tune-ups etc. Give this Mom-and-Pop some love and get out from in front of your screens to learn or improve your musical skills. It's never too late to start! Thanks, Mark, for helping me to get back to playing my clarinet, which had been in storage for 15+ years! New Orleans jazz here I come!

Terrible Experience. The owner made personal accusations, was extremely combative and cussed out my wife and I all in regards to a question about the stores rental agreement. He basically tried to steal our money and we were not ok with that... I think the business model is a wonderful concept but Mark decided to make amendments to his contract in real time... It was a wild experience and I hope this man can find peace in retirement....

Wide selection of instruments and sheet music, not that they let you look at any of it anyway. The whole experience made me feel very uncomfortable. The sales clerk followed me around and watched me like a hawk the entire time, I didn't feel comfortable to browse the sheet music in peace. I also wanted to rent an instrument and the sales clerk seemed annoyed that I wanted to look at more than one instrument. It felt like he was trying to get me out of there as quickly as possible. If my business is such an inconvenience for you, maybe just close up shop. Owner also refused to wear a mask and walked around the store coughing everywhere. Use hand sanitizer after touching anything

I cannot believe how much this place had gone downhill in the past year. The owner refuses to wear a mask even after asked even though there is a legal mandate in place. The blatant disrespect that I was greeted with was just insane. The guy at the front register took an hour to get my instrument contract for repairs because he kept helping other people. I was also refused a nice loaned instrument and was given a terrible one.The older woman also kept giving me a nasty side eye. I'm not sure if my appearance has anything to do with how I was treated, but I would not doubt it at all. When I was told my instrument would be sent out for repairs they told me it would be back on the next Tuesday. They then promptly forgot to send out my instrument even after trusting them to get it back in time for advanced music courses at school. When I called ahead to see if it was there and ready to be picked up I told them it was in a BRIGHT PINK CASE. They didn't look for it and told me it was there. Therefor wasting my gas, time, and patience. Thats when I found out that they forgot to send it out. I'm now on the verge of paying for another month of paying for a rental so I have an instrument to play because they can't do their jobs. I will be switching music companies and I would suggest anyone who reads this to do the same. The stupidity and disrespect is too much to handle anymore and I am sick of it.

Excellent customer service. Called with 10 minutes to close on a Friday afternoon for a Saxophone sheet music book needed for Monday. Immediately the nice sales person put their hands on the book and held it for me until I got there. They just made a repeat customer especially since I didn't know they were so close to me! I love that it's supporting an individual instead of a chain as well. Thank you very much!

This is my first stop for those times when my kids need sheet music or supplies for their instruments Their selection is beyond belief, and their staff is extremely helpful. If I’m looking for something, even if I have a lot of questions about it, they’ll take the time to answer my questions until I know I’m making the right decision. While I don’t have these needs currently, based on how the staff has worked with me so far, I believe Lafayette music would also be my first choice for instrument rentals and purchases. They have an incredible selection, and their prices are more than reasonable. I know if I had any questions or concerns, they’d make sure to stick with me until I was completely satisfied. That’s not something you get at every music store, but its here!

Do you want to receive damaged goods and just receive passive aggressive emails? Then this is the place. They seem to specialize in doing an abysmal job and then being rude about it. There's a reason why this page is peppered with 1 and 2 star reviews. To echo many others: "If I could give this place negative stars I would. I have had more than one occasion where I am appalled by the way I was treated." Their online store portal offers attractive prices, but you will not receive carefully packaged product. Music scores, without exception, will arrive damaged. They ship in paper thin card board and are the only music store that does that. I wonder why? Yeah, let's pinch pennies and then let customers live with our poor decision making. That's the next part. Once you ask to replace or refund their awfully packaged goods, good luck! They first make you dance around by sending them multiple photos - as if any of this at all matters to them -, then will write rude emails back that are terse, evasive, and just downright "it's your fault, live with the damage." On top, they impose return conditions on the damaged things you just got that are actually unlawful under Colorado state law. Like: you must pay for our return shipping and if the returned goods have a scratch, we'll knock off money from the refund we give you. That's actually the exact reverse of how seller-buyer law works in Colorado and under all standard online seller platforms like Ebay and Paypal. None of the seller emails seem to be intended to be taken at face value. They are here to deter buyers from going through with a return. Why provide customers service when you don't have to, right? That's the business attitude at Lafayette Music. The seller is on record with Paypal for violating their returns policy too. Stay away. Life is too short to treat with unprofessional and rude sellers. This is not a seller having a bad day, this is a bad seller having his usual day. I pity the employees who work for this guy.
