Loved the sanctuary and its people. Safe place to learn, and freedom to explore without harm.

Great experience for a great cause. Some animals are little far and hidden but you have to understand that is not a zoo. I will recommend bringing a binoculars and wind breaker, being high up in the walk path could be chilly at times. Take your time, no need to rush through the exhibit.
A 33,500-acre network of Sanctuaries for Lions, Tigers, Bears, Wolves, and other large carnivores that have been rescued from illegal or abusive situations, as well as Wild Horses have been removed from the wild. Animals are rehabilitated and released into large acreage habitats where they can live and roam freely with others of their own kind. The Sanctuary operates four facilities, with three being located in Colorado, and one in Texas. Together they offer over 33,000 acres of natural habitats to more than 900 Lions, Tigers, Bears, Wolves, Wild Horses and many other rescued animals. The Wild Animal Sanctuary network is the largest and oldest Captive Wildlife Sanctuary in the world, and travels internationally to rescue animals in need.
