I feel violated. I ordered a cap for my power steering resevoir, because I didn't want to drive to Delta to buy a $6.99 part. They ordered me one for $69 without telling me the price (they threw away my phone number I gave them) and made me buy the part saying they couldn't send it back.I feel robbed and violated.

The people that work there are great. That's where it ends.I live in a nearby town and stopped in to get oil for my truck. I do my own. I needed 7 quarts. They had what I wanted in stock, pricing was not apparent, or visible on the shelf - but to my dismay - after being rung up at the register - I ended up owing over 80 dollars, for the oil. This was less than a year ago, oil prices go up and down, but this was 300+% more than any big box store in Delta would charge. I love supporting our local businesses, but there is a limit - this is a total rip off in my book.It is time for me to do the oil in my truck again - I bypassed this shop entirely, shipped to my door from Amazon - 100% synthetic is setting me back about 28 dollars. Add 4 dollars for the oil filter. I could buy the supplies to do 3 oil changes via Amazon - or just 1 if I go with Carquest here in Hotchkiss. If you can justify spending 300% premium to buy locally, more power to you, but I rate 1 star for price gouging and I don't plan to ever be back.I'm happy to see an auto parts store in town, but I cannot support those margins and they have lost my business.

The People who work here are fantastic. I went in to get a couple of nuts and they went above and beyond to make sure they were correct and it was for a less than 2 dollar sale. This is customer service at its best and how it always should be. Thank you

Is there a regulation about how long you can let your engine idle in Colorado? After we drove over McClure Pass we encountered a temporary traffic light on CO-133 by Crawford Reservoir where the traffic was restricted to one lane. Seeing the delay, the diesel truck behind us shut off his engine. Not realizing that we'd be there for 20 minutes, we left ours running. Good thing we did! When we stopped at the next gas station, the engine refused to turn back over. The kind folks at the Stop N Save lent us jumper cables and a charge. At Hotchkiss Duckworks Carquest, Brandon tested our alternator and found it good. He then sold us a battery and lent us the tools to install it.We couldn't remember how long we'd had the current battery. Brandon explained how to read the sticker on it. The letter corresponds to the month of manufacture. ("A" for January, "B" for February, and so on.) The numeral corresponds to the last digit of the year of manufacture. That meant that the battery was probably from 2014--it had served us long and well. And fortunately that battery didn't expire at a road maintenance site next to the Crawford reservoir, on a 60-mile stretch between gas stations. #DuckworksCarQuest #CDOT
