A professional and friendly experience. Everyone from the staff at the front desk to the vet who saw our cat was wonderful.

Read reviews and be aware of new ownership here. I had to request my dogs records 3 times to move him to a new Vet after I read the reviews. I finally went in and the person that finally printed them for me knew me and I told her of the reviews and I said I just can’t stay here and she shook her head and she knew. We both cried. Even after my new Vet called they would not send the records‼️. I had been a customer of Rocky Mountain for over 20 years and I walked in and said after reading the reviews I will never bring my beloved dog here again. I said I just can’t and we cried and she acknowledged and said, “I know”. My dog had his last nail trim before the change over. When I went in for the records, there was another lady with 2 dogs getting records printed also. It is a sad thing to watch a thriving business be lost. There was no staff there either except the front desk person. Everything was stripped down. Lastly, even the treats on the counter were gone. Dog food they used to sell, gone. ??

I agree with all the recent reviews. We have been clients for the past 25 years, and the last few interactions have been horrible. The first being that we couldn't bring in our Guinea pig, though had brought him in previously. There wasn't an "exotics" vet any longer, so I had to search for another practice that would put him down due to a tumor. The worst experience was that we took our dog in for a small growth on her back. The dr suggested surgery removal, which surprised me since it was pea-sized and superficial, but went with the dr's recommendation. The morning we brought her in for surgery, the dr was not the one we had seen and we found out later it was changed to a fill-in vet. Picking her up after surgery, my dog had a huge 8" scar and no dr available to ask questions. I called and left several messages, no dr available to ask why the incision was so big. I was told to email photos, with a response "looks normal". We have moved practices as we don't have any confidence in the practice that we loved for so many years. We keep getting reminder emails for moneymaker rabies shots, but no way would we bring our animals back.

They almost killed our cat. I'm so sorry I ever trusted them. Never again. We've boarded with them previously and suddenly all our info was changed to someone else, no one bothered to tell us he was sick when we picked him up, just said "he was great!" He was not eating, he had lost so much weight, and was coughing and sneezing, and we had to force feed him to save his life after taking him to our normal vet.Don't board your cat or any animal here if you want them to be safe and healthy when you pick them up.

Wow I should have looked at the reviews recently. I've brought my 3 cats to Rocky Mountain since 2019, Dr. Tancher was our doctor originally and he was amazing, so full of passion and love for his craft. Eventually we were assigned to another doctor, and I believe now another one. We tried bringing in one of our cats a few months ago for a skin abscess which would have normally not been an issue, but we were referred to an urgent care instead due to weeks out of scheduling. Recently I had issues with prescriptions for one of my cats and decided to take a look at the reviews. Did not know it was bought out, will start looking for another place, shame because this was a convenient location for me.

Picked up our cat a day early after boarding for 13 days while on vacation. This is the third time using them. He was emaciated. Skinny and near unresponsive. He also was coughing and sneezing. Never got notified of any issues while gone only to find out that all of our info was changed to someone else. Third visit. They said he was great. We took him to our regular vet the next day. Got him on meds and an appetite enhancer. He had a near brush with death due to their neglect. I've been warned about them from multiple vets and friends, but they are close to the house. He's still recovering 2 weeks later. We will seek another boarding facility.

This vet clinic has changed management within the last year. We saw a vet who I found out later was a fill-in vet. He was fine but he wasn't there to call or explain the bloodwork results for my older dog. When I called after waiting two weeks for results, there wasn't a doctor working. They weren't sure when I could expect to receive a call from a doctor. The receptionist said she could go over the bloodwork with me. I had them email me the results and went to another vet. Now I get emails and postcards saying my dog is overdue for exam and other tests that were done by them 2 months ago.

I have gone here for over 20 yrs. It is a 45 min drive and a little more expensive but I loved the staff. A new company took over and when I called to have them see my cat for her eye they refused. They kept telling me to take her to an emergency vet. I was practically begging to be seen. ? They have always taken care of any issue my pets have had. Change is hard, but they have lost me as a client.

We sat for 45 minutes listening to laughter in the back. Have no surgeons to fix my new dog. Not impressed at all. My parents take there dogs there. Guess time will tell. FYI was just there for a booter shot. Trash service!

This place has no doctor, new ownership no longer family owned. Now corporate owned business. No longer reliable, they never even let the old owner who's taken care of so many of your pets say good bye to any of you.

We have taken our dogs to Rocky Mountain since it first opened and loved Dr. Bean and Dr. Tancher. Dr. Tancher was treating our dog for cancer and we were taking him in every 6 weeks or so for a cancer check. What a surprise it was to call and find out Dr. Tancher was gone and the clinic had been sold. It would have been nice if we had gotten some kind of notification after over 25 years of visits and thousands of dollars spent there. Since none of the vets we knew are still there we won't be back.

Highlands Ranch and Roxborough residents for 28 years. Going to RMSAH for 20+ Years, Dr Bean was great, then retired and owners changed and place is going down hill. Listen to our circumstances. Two dogs, one gland swollen, meds wrong, would not follow up, then charged again for same problem. Other dog, paid for service on bacteria in ear, said they would refill drops since infection did not clear up, then said they would not provide since could not find record. They completely deleted both dogs records. Would not recommend anyone go to RMSAH.

We used to travel over an hour to board our pets here and have vet services. We tried calling to have our pets boarded and updated on shots, only to be told it was a 6 week wait and we couldn't board our pets unless they were up to date on vaccines.Looking at recent reviews , and a quick Google of the new practice manager's name,Jenee Shipman,I am disgusted they (MVP) would allow such an awful women to take over this loved family practice. To say I miss the care and love the Tanchers and staff gave my pets is an understatement. My pets will be going else where for care

If you love your pets, take them elsewhere. My family brought our pets here since Dr. Tancher opened his first clinic in a small storefront next door to Cub Foods on Broadway and Mineral in the early 1990s. He and his team lovingly cared for generations of our pets. Sadly, Rocky Mountain Small Animal Hospital has been purchased by a corporation and all of the original staff has left the practice. This new group is unhelpful and concerningly disorganized. We took each of our two dogs in to the new group one time where they performed their annual exams, administered vaccinations, and prescribed medications for each dog. Before leaving, we scheduled a nurse appointment for the required second booster vaccine for one of our dogs. However when we showed up, they did not have a nurse present to actually administer the vaccine. Although this was completely their error, their solution was to tell us we needed to start the series over again at our cost. Then when I called to refill the medications that had been prescribed by them only a month earlier, they had no record of those prescriptions and said that I had to bring the dogs back in and pay for examinations in order to re-prescribe the medications. This is Rocky Mountain Small Animal Hospital in name only.

We have taken our dog here since he was a puppy. I loved how they offered same day appts if you called exactly when they opened. Over the years my dog has developed allergies, resulting in ear infections, rashes etc. so sometimes I need the occasional last minute appt. Well they no longer offer same day appts and my two options were 1. emergency vet or 2. wait for their next appt 4 weeks out. There are a whole slew of problems that cannot wait a month but do not require emergency care and for my dog's vet to not offer that in-between option is absurd. We have started taking our dog to VCA Mountain View and I am way happier. A vet clinic NEEDS to be available to work clients into their schedule, or it just doesn't work.So sad.
