“One of those shiny spots in the gritty end of town.
There's a lot of delightfully cheap stuff here, even brand name stuff at a discount.
As with everywhere I go, it's the people that make it for me, and the people here seem to smile a lot. If you look the least bit like you can't find something, an employee will generally show up and offer assistance.
Lots of smiles in the checkout. You make a guy feel welcome.”
“I love the new Dollar General! It's so clean and it's so easy to find what I'm looking for. I love the new products; better quality than they used to be. The food section is more complete with a wide variety of products. The prices are still low, but you don't feel like you're buying cheap products. My only complaint is that they no longer carry pajama bottoms. I've been buying them for years at Dollar General, but now I'll have to go somewhere else for them. I've moved across town and there are Dollar Generals closer to me, but I will always drive over to the 8th Avenue store because April and the store make it worth it!”
“Friendly staff. Responsible management that is trained in "cage fighting" . He looks out for the safety of his customers. Other staff too puts cameras on customer with possible gun panhandling, like vatos asking if they know me when they don't. Besides the boxes of inventory stacked in the aisles, they're still the cheapest dollar store in town for nonfood items. Food king is cheapest for groceries. I don't like shopping at stores that sell weapons like pawn shops.”

“I shop here on a daily basis as it is the only shopping within walking distances and they have a pretty good basic overall selection and always have really awesome last minute sales and clearances on clothes and home goods ! Let’s be honest here folks things are strapped for most financially and this is a fine store to meet in the middle!”

“Went in for some valentine's day gifts. Needless to say they were super busy. They had multiple registers open so I was in and out quickly. I like to commend Maria and Joseph on their positive attitudes! I know it can be tough to smile and be friendly when things are nonstop but both of these employees greeted me with a smile and engaged in conversation. That goes a long way this day and age!! Thank you Maria and Joseph for making my visit a pleasurable one amongst all the chaos.”
