Writing this to warn others searching for vet services. Communication & non transparency within this facility is lacking. Staff will know who I am as they read this since I did express a couple times to team members my feelings. 10/25, I rushed my 9mo old Great Dane to an Emergency vet. We found she was Parvo Positive. I called vets in surrounding areas to see if they could accept my parvo dog for treatments. The tech there said she previously worked @ Westridge Animal Hospital & they carried the NEW BREAKTHROUGH Parvo Vaccine CSU got approved. On the call they were willing to take her in & I gave all the info they needed from me on the phone. I gave them the exact weight of my dog & the Four Seasons Vet Tech sent over all the records test results, & vitals they had as well. West Ridge sent the quote to my email w/ all the info they received from Four Season & myself. It shows $2106.48 & has the breakthrough medication on it*. Per Four Seasons Drs & Westridge advice it was ok to take her in the next day since she had already received meds & fluids that day. 10/26 my husband took our dog in & they tell him to wait outside since they need to enter a separate door to get to the quarantined room. They enter a side door & our Dane goes nose-to-nose w/ another dog. My husband met a tech & Dr & begin to discuss what treatment will look like. They tell him they want to stay within "our budget" but recommend hospitalizing 1 night because she was dehydrated. He was confused, we never talked about $ being an issue. They assumed a budget. It upset him. We were only going off the quote they sent us the day before. They continued to say they would "adjust" things so that the price they quoted was not changing. They would make it work for the "budget" & keep her overnight w/ her condition. Further angering him. I show up to join @ the office where my husband & I talk about things. The Dr who came back was different & gave us her thoughts on how we should proceed. She was saying different recommendations/views on treatments so when she left I was more confused. We agreed to let her stay since they seemed willing to "make it work" in our favor. The tech said she was setting up a "run" they didnt have a crate big enough. I felt ok knowing she would be watched overnight. They said we would get calls/updates. Never got one. We called, reception said dr was busy & would call us back after 6. Still no call. 10/27, I showed up & called the number for them to let me in the side door, she said they were gathering her stuff up & would bring her outside. I still needed to talk to the Dr so I could hear how things went overnight & I dont know what medications/times I needed to administer meds. Steps were not discussed. They open the side door. I talked to w/ an entirely different tech about what I needed to do/how often. She gave me tips because we were going to do the outpatient treatment from then on @ home. I asked when she received the breakthrough vaccine (Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody). The tech told me she wasn't going to get the vaccine. I was confused because based on the conversation we had w/ the Dr & tech the day before nothing was changing except, they were going to "make it work" & have her hospitalized for the night. Apparently it meant we gave up the Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody vaccine. I called my husband & asked him if I was thinking incorrectly but they completely blindsided us & substituted the vaccine for the hospitalization. When I asked why, she stated that they didn't even have enough vaccine viles in the building to use on her based on her weight & they couldnt even get enough for her. They knew her weight on Wednesday! This was NOT discussed the 2 days prior they didnt have enough! I asked to see my dog. She was in a tiny cage. She couldnt stand up/turn around to get away from her mess. I called my husband again & sent pictures, he demanded I get h

We have taken our animals here for a long time. The service and care of our animals keeps us coming back. I have had other experiences with other vets that were not good. We will stay with Westridge animal hospital.

I used to really love this place. The vets were very sweet, took their time to explain things, and treated my cats like their own. However, this last experience has really changed my opinion. I have been quite a few times since for all 3 of my cats, and unfortunately the Dr. I used to see all the time isn't here anymore. Dr Byes is okay. He's more skittish around cats. However, there is a female doctor here who is downright rude. I took my cat in today because I noticed he was limping. They did a physical exam on his leg and we discussed X-rays which I agreed would be good action to take. My cat was given a sedative and went back for x-rays. All was fine up to this point. My cat is actually really sweet and has been to this vet several times and never had an issue. However, being in pain and being in an unfamiliar situation, he did bite someone today while being x-rayed. The female doctor came in and asked me in a condescending tone if I had the rabies certificate for my cat which at the time I did not bring it with me. They looked in their records but could not find one in the records for him and I gave them the name of the only other vet I've seen so they could check their system but that vet was unfortunately on holiday. She then later explains in a very rude tone that animal control will come visit my home and that my cat will need to be quarantined for 30 days even though he's an indoor-only cat! Not once did she demonstrate any sort of compassion for myself, for my cat, or even for her own staff. While I feel incredibly terrible that my cat bit anyone, and I would never want that to happen to anyone, I don't need to be treated rudely for a happenstance situation. Animals when they feel threatened and frightened are going to bite! And as a veterinarian she should understand that. They have lost a customer forever due to the uncalled for attitude. Can't wait for animal control to visit my house now! Thanks for the response Alex. I also have a zero tolerance policy for being treated poorly and there's a reason you only have 2.5 stars on Yelp. Do better. I stand by my review and comments.

Have been going here for years, they used to be great but the customer service has completely disappeared. My dog has been dealing with a skin infection since October and the treatment she has received could be great if their staff knew how to communicate with each other. We waited over an hour for her appointment then the wrong vet came in waited another 45 minutes for the right vet and then waited almost another hour to get pills that I found sitting on the counter because they don't know how to communicate if they're patient is there or waiting. Fast forward to not receiving a call back on results that meant that we were treating the wrong thing so naturally the condition got worse. I tried to get a referral over to a specialist and was unable to get in for 3 months. In the meantime I made another appointment so my dog could get some help till then but the vet was booked out for 10 days. I asked if the vet could call me back on Monday to possibly give her an antibiotic in the meantime till her appointment. The very rude front desk girl Ashley didn't even bother to leave my message for the vet meaning that she made it where my dog is sick and in pain without care because she decided she didn't want to do her job. I finally spoke to another vet and they honestly don't even care about the horrible service we've received. Definitely don't recommend taking your animals here.

Please do NOT take your pet here, the other reviews of they might die is true. My usual vet was closed and calling the afterhours line they suggested West Ridge Animal Hospital as the closest option. Our 16 month old Great Dane/ Pit Bull was hit by a truck and was scratched up pretty badly. I was worried he was hurt more than letting on as he was licking his back leg and would not lay down. My biggest regret was not reading reviews and trusting the afterhours vet who suggested this place. I called, explained what happened and they asked if he was shaking which he was. They stated they wanted him to come in immediately. When we arrived I called the number, informed them what spot we were in and about 5 minutes later a young man came out. He used his phone light to shine it on his injuries to which our dog did not respond well to and began growling at him. He asked me to restrain him so he could get a closer look. I held my dog while he looked then he stood up and ran inside saying he was going to get a room ready. A few minutes later he came back out to let us know the room was ready. He kept mentioning as we walked in that he looked fine and was able to walk appropriately. My dog would not let him approach him, he continued to growl and even nip. The Vet came in, explained that he was the best looking dog he'd seen that was struck by a car. He went on to explain because he was so frightened that he would recommend giving him a pain killer. He said it's standard practice to give this and that he might throw up but will be fine. I should have never agreed to that. After giving the shot, our dog began drooling and breathing heavy to which they stated was normal. They said it would last up to 4 hours. We waited in the room for over 20 minutes before they returned and began extending his limbs and looking at his wounds. Afterwards, he stated the dog looked good and he had no major concerns. We commented on the excessive drooling to which they stated was normal due to the pain meds. They explained that they would give us an anti-inflammatory and get us on our way. They asked if we had any questions and I said I was mostly concerned about internal bleeding. He stated we could do X-rays for safe measure. I asked for his opinion to which he said he didn't think there was major concern and didn't think an X-ray was needed. We live about 40 minutes away from this place. The bill was 250 dollars. We drove home, he seemed content in the back seat. As soon as we got home he wanted to lay outside to which we thought was not normal. It's freezing today in Colorado. We then coaxed him in where we tried to feed him and he had no desire to eat. He laid on the floor drooling excessively and attempting to throw up. All of which they said was normal. After the 4 hours his breathing seemed to stabilize and the drugs appeared to wear off. He was completely loopy, large pupils and breathing heavy. I tried to get him to drink water or eat where he had no desire to. I tried to call the vet back and they were closed. I then noticed he had defecated on himself. I went to get a towel to clean him up and when I returned he wasn't breathing. I attempted to give CPR and dialed 911 where they stated they don't help with pets. I called an emergency animal clinic that was 45 minutes away, and we sped the entire way there. He was pronounced dead. The vet from the emergency clinic asked us tons of questions about his care and though he was wearing a mask, after each time I mentioned what they had did he would raise his eyebrows. They do not care about the safety of you loved pets. We may never know what really killed him but we believe it was that pain killer they gave him or a missed internal bleeding from the accident.

I have a 15 month old pup that has a busted tooth he lost with the root stuck below the gum line. They told me that even with it stuck below the gum line it wasn't an emergency to have it pulled even though it's so painful that he freaked out and had an accident in the house. They said that oh well let's get him scheduled for surgery he needs a little bit of sedation and to have the route pulled out that's it and they weren't willing to do it.

Primary vet advised me my dog needed to be seen by a cardiologist or pericardia on Friday like now and recommended I call petcardia right away as my dog was suspected of being in heart failure. So I called them right away Friday knowing they aren't open until Monday at 8 am get a call back at 8 am advised to come in call the emergency let them know what is going on at 9:30am and I'm on my way. Arrived at 10am still waiting and now it is 5:30pm my dog still hasn't been seen. 2:00 pm was almost released as fine without seeing her charts or the cardiologist and no one in emergency seems to know what is going on. I've checked in and explained each time at 8 am when they called, 9:30am when I called 10:30am, 11:am, 2:08pm and 3:08 pm and now 5:00pm! 7pm still here. Told my dog was fine in oxygen so that meant no heart failure so that is why no one saw her until now. Her hypertension has just gotten significantly worse and she isn't oxygenating well and pets are seen as worse case first. Ok. I have watched dogs with a limp come and go.

Very unimpressed. We took our kitten here because she was having seizures. They were happening very frequently and they began her on a medicine that was going to take ONE-TWO months before it goes into effect. Clearly unacceptable for a kitten who started having seizures nearly every 15 minutes. We took her to Pets Emergency Clinic later in the day and the vet there immediately loaded her up on seizures medicine to try to lessen her seizure activity. I will never be taking another animal to this clinic. When an animal is in emergency, they deserve the most thorough care possible. Not to mention, we spent an extreme amount of money to find out no information.

I signed up for Yelp solely to discourage rodent owners from seeking care at West Ridge (I only went here because Sheep Draw did not have an available exotic vet appointment for this week). I adopted a month-old patchwork rex rat from a breeder who specified that the rat was one month old. He was incredibly small and could fit in the palm of my hand. He's been growing rapidly and is now about two months old, and less than half the size of my two-year old rat. The vet insisted that he was fully grown. This was odd because he is clearly very small for a rat and my primary vet at Sheep Draw, the breeder, and other rat owners all agree he is about two months old now. When I tried to politely explain this to the vet, she replied: "well, do YOU think he's going to get any bigger?" Absolutely! There's no way he's full grown and it's unsettling that a vet would not know that. She also noticed that he had a bite wound from my other adult male rat (it's normal for male rats to fight, especially since they are not neutered) and she suggested separating them. This was shocking to me as basic rat owners all know that rats are pack animals and *must* be in pairs or they else can suffer, and die early, from depression. This lack of basic rat knowledge and unwarranted rude comment were surprising to me and frustrating as I had been waiting in my car for over an hour with only one other car in the parking lot. Maybe this particular vet is not experienced with rats or exotic animals because this is not the response I received from the exotic vet at Sheep Draw. I will also add that in September, one of my rats was suffering from tumors and sadly needed to be put down. I would have gone to Sheep Draw instead if I had known better at the time. After the euthanasia, the vet tech came into the room and just put my dead rat in my hands. I was incredibly distraught and was shocked to have to ask for a box for him... Overall, I would strongly suggest seeking an appointment with an exotic vet at Sheep Draw instead of West Ridge if you are looking for care for your rodent. On a positive note, Shannon at the front desk of West Ridge is very pleasant and helpful!!
