Doesn't have the endless aisles of big stores. What they lack in that department they more than make up for with customer service. Anyone there will not just tell you which aisle you're looking for but will help you. They have a knowledgeable staff that will answer questions and help with your project.

Needed a very specific lightbulb immediately. Nowhere else in town had it and the staff helped to find it quickly and saved the day!

Great store with the best staff in town! Everyone is friendly, professional and ready to help. While they don't have as large of an inventory or the lumber that home Depot and Lowe's have they do have a lot of things the big box stores do not stock. The staff here are actively working to find and help customers. I highly recommend checking them out!

I was checking the store out for the first time and was harassed...I was asked to place my backpack at the front of the store due to policy, which I had complied to. As I'm walking around I was asked for assistance which is nice. But I've overheard the employees talking about what I'm doing, asking if I'm stealing. I picked up a spray paint can and later decided I didn't want it, that I'd come back another time to get it. Same with most of the tools I was looking at. If it's such a problem for someone to browse a store why even have it open? It's a store, people shop. But I was profiled and treated like a theif..I'm a hard working man, and I also do construction on my free days for a second job. So I was considering getting new tools for the job as well. But they were a little overpriced so I decided to come back another time as well. Just simply browsing seeing all that's in stock. I loved what I saw and was making a list on what to come back for but the employees just suspected me to be a thief....Long story short, once I had got a couple items, with clearly lots of money in my wallet, so if I did want something I'D BUY IT. I was forced to show and prove I've returned items. Accused of stealing cause they were missing an item in inventory. Clearly I had no spray paint can cause the clothing I was wearing wouldn't even conceal such an item it would easily be visible. Anyway, the staff (except the one at the front desk) were absolutely rude and prejudice. That's not how you run a business. I work right across from the store so it wouldn't even make sense to take something. Absolutely disgusted with the way they conducted their work. And I will be letting others know.

Rented a rug dr it did not work, took it back was told I would get my money back, within a couple hours on my debit card over 24 hours later still no return bank shows nothing is being processed. Called spoke to manager, she blamed me because instead of going by what her employee said "I should have known better" so now I'm rude when I told her she shouldn't blame the custome for the lack of training her employee has.

Every time I go to this location, the staff is excellent! Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and just great folks! They have home maintenance essentials that I seem to need. Stay Local keeps our community strong.

So many helpful sales reps in this store. I felt welcome immediately. There was always someone nearby to answer questions to be sure I purchased the correct items for my projects. The variety of goods is really surprising, too. Home goods. Garden supplies. Toys. Home Depot is great, but I always feel like just another shopper. True Value made me feel valued. The prices were just right, too. I'm sold.

Almost every time I need to get something from here after work they have been closed early, as much as 50 minutes early. I have now had to take several hundred dollars of business to Lowe’s or Home Depot because I try come here after work 10-45 minutes before closing time and their not open.

The True Value on 12th St is always a pleasure to shop at. The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable about their store. Not a big box store, it feels like the good ol days.

I have been a fan of this store since 1993. The retail is great. But be WARNED about their SMALL ENGINE REPAIR. I took my chainsaw in for a gas leak. Two weeks later they said they fixed it by replacing hoses. When I picked it up I immediately noticed they had put the chain on backwards. I brought it to their attention and they corrected that. That is UNACCEPTABLE attention to detail. They told me it ran great. After payment I went to the parking lot and tried to start it but there was no gas in it. I assumed they emptied the tank after testing. Wrong assumption! When I added fuel to the tank it did run great but still leaked fuel as before. I took it back and they inspected it. They told me it was because of a cracked tank. Over an extra $100 for parts and labor. Why didn't they find this to begin with? I paid over $60 for a problem they missed! I am not recommending using their small engine repair. It is obvious they are not competent to diagnose and repair a problem. No complaints about the retail side of Truvalue.
