I have been in this shoe store a few times. Yes, the shoes are overpriced, but if you were to order them online you may not order the correct size. I called to speak with the owner, and asked for him to call me back recently on 11/10/23. I was ready to purchase a pair of shoes that he had in stock. That's all I wanted to know if he still had them. He waited on me and would know which shoes I was referring to. They are $300 shoes, and priced $80 more than the websites. No return phone call, as other customers suggested. This is a terrible business practice. I also purchased a pair of shoes a couple of years back, and asked if they were "walking shoes." He said, yes. He was only interested in selling me a pair of sandals, which were not "walking shoes" for the outside cement. I have bunions and hammer toes, and he should be concerned about the right walking shoes. I am going to order online and hope the size is what will work for me. Some of the sites to pay for return shipping. He claims he charges extra, so he can tweak the shoes if need be. In my experience, they rarely needed tweaking. I like honesty, and that's why I will not be back.

Some of the poor ratings are about how they found the same shoes cheaper elsewhere. The price reflects him repeatedly tweaking the until they are perfect. Be prepared to have them adjusted several times. I bought a pair then he adjusted them and it was an improvement yet I still had very sore feet this happened several times and I became a bit fed up and thought I would need surgery as my Doctor said. Then the last adjustment and my feet have had no pain for years. Buying shoes from here is a bargain when you have foot pain.

After months of foot pain and was told that surgery was the way to relieve me from it I visited Mario.He spent over a hour with me and explained what was going on with my feet and recommended what shoe to wear.I could tell the difference within a couple of hours.After four days he adjusted the insteps and have not had any of the pain I experience before.I will not be considering surgery as a possible to relieve the pain

Long time satisfied customer of Shoe Design--Can't work without them! Just went back today for a new pair after 2 years, because the shoes lasted THAT LONG. Worth every penny... Thanks again ??

OMG! I was looking for shoes I could walk in comfortably. Mario appeared to be listening but after going back several times for “adjustments” which curiously take about 45 seconds, my feet hurt so much- I went to store down the street and bought some comfortable shoes!Would NOT recommend!

Was quoted $200 for a pair of shoes. Put them on hold and came and picked them up ended up getting charged $80 more than what I was quoted then when I called to let them know I was overcharged he became rude and nasty towards me. I will never shop there again!!

Well tried calling multiple times within their store hrs on a Thursday, left a msg and never got anything back. Called again and got an answer!! Only to be hung up on immediately after.... Seems like if u want any questions answered you have to go in person.

I have had an excellent experience several times with Mario. I had some issues with my feet/shoes. Thought I might need surgery. Went to foot specialists that had all kinds of over the top treatments. I was discouraged. Then I went to Mario. He he had me up and "running" in no time. Back to hiking, walking and all things good. Almost like a miracle. I go to his store every time we visit Grand Junction. Tom J
