Out West Books is a full-service independent bookstore established in 2014. It offers a wonderful and interesting selection of new books, with specialties in Western history and natural history. The store also has an extensive children’s collection, sections for local authors, and all manner of genres, plus puzzles, activity books, and cookbooks. The staff is kind, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and phenomenal, providing great recommendations and incredibly kind service. They welcome special orders and can get any book in print quickly, in a couple of days. The store is a favorite, described as the best bookstore in town hands-down, where customers always find something wonderful. It is very welcoming, including to young children, and is great at helping with gifts for out-of-town family.
Great destination for local guide books, local history books and nature related writing. Perfect place to stop on your first day in town.

My favorite bookstore in Grand Junction! The staff is really helpful and knowledgeable and have great recommendations! Anything they don’t have in stock you can order online and still support them which I love! My 2 year old loves going too and they are always so welcoming of him ☺️
