The nightly rate is decent. Or so it seems when you book it.
First of all, you have to pay to park in the parking lot so that to me in Grand Junction is ridiculous. And yes I am a local.
Second of all, not only is breakfast not included but you will end up paying $50 for some pretty bland eggs and potatoes with toast.
The customer service especially in the restaurant is some of the worst I have ever had and I have worked in almost every department of a very nice hotel in downtown Denver.
I will not stay here again or recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay with the kids.

We used to love this place! It had very nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great food. Live music and fun!! It was the perfect place to stop. Now the hotel is showing its age. Rooms could use an update. The public womans restroom has been missing a door for over a year. The lounge furniture is old and very worn out. It's almost creepy to sit on. It's very dark in there.
Another thing is the VERY overpriced breakfast buffet. It really should be complimentary! Not to mention the $14 a night parking fee. That is ridiculous!! No other hotel in the area charges.
It's time to find a new place to stay!
Noteworthy details: There is a parking fee they do not tell you about until you check in.

This hotel advertises a low rate then hits you with a $14 per night parking fee when you check in. This amounts to false advertising since the hotel is located in an area where parking is not limited and there's nothing nearby that would make parking spaces valuable. Make sure you factor in an additional $14 per night when comparing this hotel with others.

When searching for the hotels and comparing options, you need to add $14 per night at the Grand Vista Hotel for parking. I'm really offended by this practice. It is like McDonalds charging a toll to go through their drive-thru. I've searched other local hotels in this price range and none of them charge for parking. I've stayed here several times because it was cheap, clean and comfortable but this last time, it wasn't that clean, is overpriced and is really showing it's age.

They charge you a non-negotiable $14 to park your car here, even if you are renting a room. Save that $14 and go somewhere much nicer for the same price. Not recommended.

TLDR: Reviews are accurate.
Pro: My room was as expected and correct based on my booking selection.
Cheap posted rate** before FEES.
Cons: Many of them posted below
$86 Room charge, very pleased. Typical hotel stay on a weekday price.
Parking fee of $14? Typically I see this in downtown areas with alot of fees or high congestion. This is none of those. I will add most places will include free parking for booking hotel. My advice is include you parking fee into your price if you need that to be added. Very deceptive, and when you already prepaid it's a shot in the back since you cannot cancel.
Pay extra fees per person? This is very rare or at least it is hidden. Typically hotels will adjust price based on search criteria and adjust what rooms are available for what you want. This place straight up charges the room fee and then adds $5 per adult. Regardless if my room sleeps 1-4 I'm charged extra for what?
Hotel bar was closed when I arrived. This was a driving factor for the booking having a bar and resturant in building.
Hotel pool is open until midnight that is a plus. However you have to be babysat to go in and out by front desk because they have a bar and restaurant?
Last but definitely not least.. $15 for Breakfast ordered per person at front desk before they even make the food. I wouldn't pay $5 for most Hotel Breakfasts let alone prepay for assembly the same thing. By far on my 7 day trip in Colorado and extensive stays in many hotels this is the strangest one yet.
Bottom line.... Charge your real price from the get go including all of the "fees"
This is a truck stop Hotel off the side of the interstate, it is not downtown, it Is not a resort. If all of the amenities were available I would be a little happier.
According to most of the other reviews I am not alone in these opinions.
Rooms: Personally my room was fine, Clean and AC worked. Window was open when I arrived.
Walkability: Easy access for walking to bar, pool, and elevator. Only downside is if parking fills up and your in the back the door to access is posted as emergency exit only fire etc.
Food & drinks: Prepay $15 for breakfast, Restaurant and bar were closed.
Noteworthy details: Parking is extra, Fees per person, Bar and resturant puts a babysitter tax on pool access.

This place is way overpriced! Told 10 for pet fee when reserving through them. Check in was the very next day and the fee went up to 50. I told the young man that. Then he said he could drop it to 30 which is there price during the off season. I made the reservation the day before. Parking fee of 14 is a joke. Didn’t even get enough coffee or shampoo for 2 people. The paid for 2 people. Why do I have to go back down to request more? The room was stuffy and stinky. Bathroom had streaks of something all over the wall, below the sink. Ran the air conditioner hoping it would smell better. Then woke up all sinus congested. Very dirty air conditioner. $250 for 1 night, w double beds, and 1 dog is a down right joke! The staff wasn’t great either. I asked about the $100 deposit when checking out. She says, we’ll send it back to your bank. I dont know what they’ll do with it. ??? I did get it from my bank. If I didn’t I would have disputed the whole charge. I’ve had much better stays at cheaper hotels which included a breakfast too. DO NOT GO!!!! You’ll regret it.
