I am hooked on using Avis when I rent a car for business because the pick up and return is so easy. I receive a text and go right to the car. Love it. Good job Avis.

Terrible customer service. My flight was delayed so the premium SUV that I pre-paid for was not available when I arrived and the alternative vehicle did not have enough space for my passengers plus luggage. My passengers had to take a bus to our destination. The clerk was unhelpful, impolite, unapologetic, and did not offer any sort of refund.

Had an unfortunate experience of being double charged and the extra charge was over the original amount. Received a credit back but still no credit for the overcharge amount. very painful experience. :( The best part of experience is I am totally satisfied with the car issued. Hopefully I will not have a bad experinece $$ again on future rentals.

I recently had a vehicle break down on me while traveling through Grand Junction. I showed up at Avis late at night, just before they were about to close. I was in desperate need of a pickup truck to complete my trip, and thankfully Avis had one available. They processed things for me quickly and efficiently, resulting in having me back on the road in no time. All for what I thought was a very fair price as well. Thank you!

I recently had a disappointing experience with Avis car rental at the Grand Junction Airport location. Upon renting a Jeep Wrangler, I was shocked to find the tank completely empty. When I addressed this issue with the associate, Eric, he responded unprofessionally and raised his voice. Despite the inconvenience and their error, there was no discount or reimbursement offered. I was still expected to fill the tank to full before returning the vehicle. This level of customer service and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I will not be recommending or using Avis in the future.

Avis Car Do not useWe picked up this car in the early evening in Grand Junction CO at the airport. The car, a Ford Escape, was dirty both inside and out. The windshield was bug spattered as was the front grill. The interior had been given a quick and lacking cleaning. Food particles and debris in the seat creases. Because the windshield was unclean we did not see the rock chip in it until the next day when I cleaned the windshield myself. Calling the Avis customer service number was very difficult. It took several tries before we finally got through their automated response system. We wanted to report this defect so Avis didn’t blame it on us and bill us for the repair. The irresponsibility at the rental desk and the difficulty of getting anyone at the Avis national number to answer means that I will avoid using this company in the future.

Difficult time getting website to work properly, poor customer service help when I contacted them about multiple issues. Location was closed (mid-day on a Saturday) when I went to pick up the car about 30 minutes late after my travel being delayed. Paid more to pick it up at another location, got a dirty (car cleaners had gone home mid-day on a Saturday), gas-guzzling car at the other location. Flight was delayed so I needed to keep it, app wasn't working to notify them, and was charged again for returning it later. Prices might look lower, but they're hugely expensive in terms of time and money in the end. Look elsewhere.

Avis waited over a month after returning the car to charge me $450 extra due to leaving a water bottle and two napkins on the floor in the car. They did this without ever sending me notice. They just charged my card. Anyone with questions is more than welcome to reach out to me and get proof of this happening. These actions are fraudulent and criminal. Choose any other rental company if you want to keep from being stolen from.

Rented a vehicle today from GJT, was told I had to buy the insurance (everything-loss damage, personal effects, personal accident, and additional liability) or they would charge me more for the rental. Found my vehicle and spent the next 20 minutes fixing the seatbelts in the rear seat, only fixed one side so my son could buckle up in the back seat.Left town and then finally looked in the passenger seat and saw items left from whom ever rented it prior to me. The cars interior was never cleaned. Continued on my way only to discover that the car has something amiss with it, it will suddenly pull to the right, like a sensor sensing an object. Car isn't really safe, but what's my options? I'm now in Utah, still driving it. I have Wi-Fi service but cannot make any calls.

Very fast check in. Car was a new GMC SUV, very clean, good gas mileage. Return process was simple...walked in and handed them the key. Later received a verifying text that vehicle return was processed.

Do not rent from this location! This is a dishonest company that should not be allowed to do business in this hard-working country. I reserved a small car through Priceline for $31/day and made the trip from Moab to Grand Junction to pick up the car. On arrival, I was told that the reserved car was not available, and offered me an upgrade for $105/day (more than 3 times what I had reserved). Priceline customer service clearly said over chat that "The counter is supposed to upgrade you to the next car class for free if the reserved car class is not available". The manager on-site Matt repeatedly lied to me about 1) having no other car except a 7-seater with a cracked windshield that was 4x more expensive than the small car I had reserved (I later found a lot full of cars and a queue of people with reservations afterward) 2) having tried to reduce the upgrade fee by talking to his superior (didn't see him making any calls while I was figuring out my options - I realized I had none) 3) having called Priceline repeatedly over the course of the day to not send them any more customers since they had no cars to rent (Priceline denies this)I realized from talking to both companies that this is standard practice - Priceline makes deals that don't exist to bait customers to this location, where at the Avis counter, Matt has been trained to do this con-job of extorting the customers into renting vehicles which are otherwise unrentable (see previous reviews as well) by pointing out (correctly) that there are no other options since only airport locations are open and other honest rental companies are out of vehicles at that time. Since the alternative was to cancel my weeklong vacation starting at an Airbnb hundreds of miles away, I eventually forked out the extra bucks for the upgrade that should have been free, with a sick feeling knowing that I was paying someone who had successfully conspired to cheat me.

This was my first time flying into Grand Junction and rented a car to get to my destination.I booked a car with Avis and it was a good experience. Rental office located on the first floor of this small airport and getting and dropping the car was an easy in and out process.Attendant that released the vehicle to me asked if I wanted to upgrade to a Mustang for $5 more and that opened up the dialogue for a good conversation, but I did decline. When I dropped off the car and handed the keys in, I was pleasantly surprised to have a very handsome Asian guy help me, who was professional and nice. Wasn't expecting that and he reminded me of a hot Asian cowboy, if that even exists lol. Overall, a good experience, easy and affordable option. I will use them again when I fly into Grand Junction.

Customer service was horrible. We had a flat tire, they wanted to tow the car and THEN send us another car. We were 3 hours from the rental agency! We would have been stranded with all our stuff and nowhere to go. We had to drive to Loa, Utah to have it repaired on one spare tire and the other front tire with zero tread. Absolutely horrible experience

It was quick and easy to pick up the rental car at Avis, and the staff was very friendly. In addition, Avis staff was very accommodating and helpful when returning the car early. The good thing was that they only charged the actual number of days being used. I had a pleasant experience with Avis during this trip.

Car wasn't ready and we had to wait 45 minutes. No consolation was offered by the company for a future credit, etc.
