Rover Retreat is so good to my dog! Always greet him when he walks in and he’s happy as a clam when I pick him up.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE. I brought my dog for daycare almost every Monday for the last 6 weeks. I dropped him off 2/12 and he was super energetic and lively, when I pick him up around 5:30pm he was drooling and could barely walk out the door. I rushed him to an emergency vet 12 mins away and they told me he had a 106 fever and a lung infection and was borderline septic. After a few days at the hospital his body was not responding to antibiotics and I had to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep.I asked multiple different veterinarians in this process if I had been notified earlier when his behavior first changed if it would have helped his outcome and all agreed that it absolutely would have. When the manager at rover retreat contacted me after I voiced my frustration upon my dog’s initial hospital stay, she only stated the staff gave a note to the front desk and the front desk failed to notify me. That the front desk personnel had been reprimanded and retrained, and then offered a refund for my one day of day care.If any of the staff had voiced a concern they should have followed up and in this case if my dog was this bad off the staff should have demanded I come get him. None of this happened, and now my seemingly healthy 2 year old lab is no longer with us.The lack of accountability and oversight clearly shows the staff at this doggy daycare are not properly trained or have no care for the animals they are put in charge of, my dog was suffering for at minimum the last few hours he was in their care, with no communication to me about it.

My dog absolutely loves Rover Retreat. We always feel comfortable leaving her in their care. The staff is kind and friendly. They take the time to get to know each dog individually and make sure they have a fun and safe day. My dog always comes home happy and exhausted from all the playing. Truly recommend.

Rover retreat has been a consistent for our dogs over the last 9 years. Last weekend they went above and beyond to care for our 16 yr old dog that had some health issues. They were calm and communicated often with us while we were out of town. They kept our dog overnight and she was well cared for until we got there. We appreciate their exemplary care!

Seems to be a okay place, our 2 dogs were taken care of. The problem is they tried to charge us over $300.00 for one night of boarding! Yes, we had both dogs bathed. At check out, the lady looked over the bill and she reworked the bill. But then she tried to add on a late pick up fee saying that it was owed because we picked them up in the afternoon time slot instead of the morning. No where is it stated that a fee for the afternoon would be applied. They are open for pick up in the morning from 7-10 from in the afternoon from 4 to 7 PM. She did waive that charge and the bill was correct. Okay place but we will not use them again.

Staffs point of view?Hello I’m Cassandra & I’ve been working at Rover Retreat for 5 years! Why I first got this job was because I needed help with my PTSD. Dogs are the perfect cure to anything!I learn everyday not only about the dogs but about me & the staff. I have learned so much from our team here at Rover Retreat. I don’t plan to ever leave. It’s home. The welcome I get from the parents, the dogs, the team is just not replaceable. So now if you were to ask me why I work here? I’d say because of my team & the bond I have with the dogs. The dogs cured me pretty much ?We love these dogs like they are our own. We get to spoil these dogs with love! We grow bonds with these dogs. If they don’t show up one day.... trust me, we’re asking about them ?we get to watch these dogs learn how to play, create friendships, & grow up! I think that’s the best part about this job is we as a team, as a whole, get to grow together. ?❤️ I’d say we’re a pretty good family here at Rover Retreat!

I boarded my dog here and about 4 days “after” I picked her up she started slightly coughing and by the next day it was worse so I had to take her to the vet and long story short she has kennel cough and she’s on a anti inflammatory med. this place has usually been great but my dog is old and this could’ve been much worse

We have been bringing our dog here for daycare and boarding for several years now. He absolutely loves it here and is sometimes having so much fun he does not want to come home.

We boarded our dog, Otto here for one trial day, followed by a 3 night stay in September. When we picked Otto up, the staff did not give us any information about how his stay went. Otto was in distress for weeks after we picked him up- he had scratches on his nose, legs, and paws. When I called to ask what had happened, they told me that he did well “for the most part” with no additional details. Prior to his stay, Otto never met a dog he didn’t get along with. Since then, we have had to enroll Otto in training classes to re-learn healthy socialization in a controlled setting as he became incredibly fearful following this experience. (I would HIGHLY recommend Ted Terroux dog training and boarding facilities if you’ve already had a traumatic experience at Rover Retreat)I would not recommend this place. The environment is highly chaotic. There is little / no structure and all of the dogs I have encountered there seem to be unbalanced. This is a huge gamble that I would not take - please learn from our experience and choose a more structured, calm environment for your dog to thrive while you’re away.

I have been taking my dog here every week for almost 3 years. Sometimes a few times per week. The negative reviews on here are laughable. Kennel cough is a risk when putting a bunch of dogs together. Don't want that risk? Don't take them to daycare or board them. Period. My dog is ecstatic to come here. That says it all for me. He cannot always play outside when it's melting hot. So some days he isn't super tired. That's fine with me. He's not alone when I'm at work. These employees love these dogs like their own. My dog is my baby. I am very protective of him, but I trust the staff who love him like I do.

We have boarded our dog here for weekend or week long trips throughout the past year and he absolutely LOVES it! He truly cannot wait to get inside and start playing. The employees here take extremely good care of our dog and make sure to let us know of any issues they notice. The employees are very kind and welcoming and we couldn’t imagine not sending our dog here for his own personal overnight vacations! The enrichment courses are a special treat that we cannot replicate at another location. Highly recommend.

Rover Retreat is my go to place for dog boarding and day care. We do daycare about once per week and board with them whenever we are out of town. All of the staff is great and it is obvious they have a genuine love of dogs. They know my dog Oakley by sight and when we walk in she is immediately welcomed.
