Hotel de Paris Museum is a beautiful historic building located in the Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District. It is one of the Old West's most colorful gathering places, conserved in good shape and offering a snapshot of the late 1800s with original furnishings, utilities, room layout, millwork, pictures, kitchen, and laundry. Entering this historic, fancy hotel is like going back in time. Knowledgeable docents share the fascinating culinary history and the story of Louis Dupuy, the "Mysterious Frenchman," who was a progressive thinker and held human rights close to his heart. The tour is highly recommended, especially for those into history, as guides demonstrate deep care and second-to-none knowledge of the hotel, its history, and the people associated with it. The site, owned by The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in Colorado, is a member of the Great American Treasures Museum Alliance and is well worth the time for a tour.
