My little cat had her tooth pulled at his clinic. She started bleeding on the way home and I called and was very disregarded concerning her bleeding. I'm a recovery room nurse and can recognize when the amount of bleeding is worrisome. I called again that afternoon and he said it's not concerning. We ended up going to an animal ER that night. I called his office after closing, left a message and my voice mail was never returned. The ER was at capacity and they couldn't see her. They told me to follow up with him in the morning. I was putting pressure on her tooth all night and it still had significant oozing. I ended up going to a different cat hospital at 5 am. and they checked her blood count and it was low but not enough to keep her in the hospital. Went to his clinic when it opened and he gave her a shot of antibiotic. Never gave written instructions or pain meds. Who does that?! The next day she could barely walk. Called his office and went to voice mail again with no return follow up from him ever. I took her back to the same ER and she hadn't bled significantly after the first visit because they gave her an emergency asian herb that stopped the bleeding but this time her blood counts were severely low. The doc there said her spleen probably dumped a bunch of blood right after the first check there. She ended up getting two transfusions and stitched at the hospital. She spent three days in the hospital and went into kidney failure, which she never bounced back from. It's been a month and I finally had to take her in to be euthanized. She could've bounced back if this had been addressed right away by him. She became so depleted and drained. He was very disregarding and couldn't be bothered after hours. Now little girl is passed. Sloppy, rushed care, and has no plan or followup after his office closes. Very unhappy with the way she was treated. I have a huge bill and this could have so been prevented. He is unprofessional. Who you choose for your pet's care can save their life actually. I don't like to talk bad about people but I don't want this to happen to someone else's furry loved one. Please consider and I would not take them here. I called him and told him what happened and they never followed up. She could have lived awhile. She had the beginning of renal issues and this could've been managed long term but the trauma from this experience pushed her beyond what her body could handle. I will see her again in Heaven. She is in God's hands but miss her terribly. Saving a buck is not worth it.

Dr MacMillan is an Excellant doctor !! We have been using him for years. Our bull terrier had problems with his feet (runs in the bull terrier family) we were told by two other Vets nothing could be done and we should consider putting him down. My mother-in-law referred us to Dr. MacMillan. What a Godsend ! He told us to start soaking his paws in iodine. It worked !! His paws were healed and his little life saved. He has been our Vet ever since !! Routine care of all our dogs, surgeries, you name it, we would use no one but Dr MacMillan in Ft Lupton for the care of our beloved pets. He's Tops !!!Sandy
