Sent 4.5oz of mixed karat gold & 25oz sterling .925 silver on January 5th to be refined. After emailing back & forth with Stacey and hearing every excuse imaginable as well as contacting Fort Collins police dept and the Larimer County Sheriff, I finally received a check (1st check got lost in the mail I was told by Stacey) around 2nd week of April. Reasons why included: David has been busy doing shows, he hasn’t completed the paperwork, (not sure what paperwork because I didn’t receive any), he’s out of town, he’s in the office but now working on other things, he’s doing selling on WhatNot…etc. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with any business. I wanted to give a smaller shop my business and that is why I decided to go with Prospectors Gold & Gems instead of Midwest Refineries. Over 3 months of waiting, worrying and hearing excuses for why it was taking so long. Meanwhile, the price of gold & silver pretty much skyrocketed from January to April, but according to Stacey, my gold & silver was refined 2 weeks after I sent it in! So I got a very low price for it considering what it was worth at or near the time that I received the check. Never again will I deal with them, and hopefully this review finds potential customers and changes their minds! I was going to leave a 2 star review because some of the other 1 star reviewers never got a check or their gold back, but I can’t even do it. I’m leaving a 1 star review and I believe they’ve earned every bit of it!
