What a disappointing business/customer service. I live in Old Town so I thought I would find a local account to help me with my personal and business taxes/company formation. I walked in to schedule an appointment in late April, and understandably, they were quite busy finishing up tax season. They took down all of my info and said they have me one of the waitlist and would reach out in 2-3 weeks.
? 5 weeks later I walked in again to see if I could schedule an appointment since I had not heard back yet. After a chaotic sequence of their office dog running out the door into the street as soon as I opened it to come in, one of the employees said the scheduler was out to lunch and said they would have her call me right when they got back from lunch. It is now a week later and I never received a call or email from this business.
Though I cannot speak to the work that they do as accountants, the way they run their business towards a prospective customer is incredibly disappointing. I recently recounted my experience with Momentum to a friend, and they said they had a friend who had the exact same lack of service and follow up. Unfortunately for Momentum, this was someone who had recently come across $500M and was looking for support with how to navigate such a large sum tax wise ?. Can't say I was going to be playing with as much money but a customer is a customer and both us us received the same poor service. At least there is consistency and equality here...? ?

Momentum Tax & Financial assisted me with filing my personal income taxes and self-employment taxes this year after I moved to Colorado from a different state. Darian, Kail, and Ryann made the process very easy for me and I ended up getting larger federal and state tax refunds than I expected! I will be pleased to work with them again next year.

Do not approach this business for your tax or financial needs unless you make sure you meet their criteria as a client and then, it is possibly best to make sure you have a written agreement that they will service you if you need them to complete your taxes. Unfortunately I approached them at an off tax time with an accounting concern and they were very helpful and, at that time, I got a verbal agreement that they would complete our filing. I called a couple of times after the initial contact with this company to make sure I would be contacted at tax time and asked questions regarding their procedures and asked to be put on their contact list when they were completing returns. After calling today again, to confirm their process I got the unfiltered truth that because of their selected client criteria and because they were short staffed they would not be able to complete our return. Additionally, there was no "notes" in their system that I had contacted them previously other than the helpful accountant did remember us. Very disappointing business practices.

Ryann and her associates at Momentum have been the solution to my small business problems. I walked through the door with a lot of inexperience and a lot of questions. I walked out with more than an accountant, but a partner in my success as a new business owner. The system they have in place to organize my financials is so easy for me to do and keep up with. Having a tax budget estimate done half way through the year really helps with perspective and planning. The office atmosphere is very light and welcoming, offsetting any anxiety that I may have felt walking into an accountant's office. Working with Momentum has been a pleasureable experience and I look forward to working with them, guiding me through new business territory.
