August 2024 by Courtney Shook
I brought my son here to get a haircut before school starts. First I had to ask the hairstylist to wash my son’s hair even though it’s supposed to be included. Then the hairstylist took about 5 minutes to trim his hair and asked me if that was ok. When I asked her to do more, as I could tell there were still split ends, she acted completely put out and gave me an attitude about doing more. After a couple more minutes she again asked if it was ok. After her attitude the first time I didn’t feel comfortable asking her to do more. His hair still looks like we never had anything done.

If I could give a 10+ I would!! This was my first time coming to Hair & Company. I had a coupon so I thought I would try Hair & Company out
and am I glad I did. Leandra was my stylist! Let me tell you she went above and beyond to make sure I was getting what I wanted. I showed her a picture and she did the BEST job ever!! I am 60 yrs old and suffer from mental health issues and she was very nice and respectable to me and she knows how to talk to her clients. She also told me she has only worked for Hair & Company for about a month. I will definitely be coming back!!.
Also I was reading all the negative reviews and everyone that left negativity you need to realize these Beauticians are not Magicians!!
Keep up the Awesome job
Leandra!!

Courtney cut my grandson's hair for the second time today! Looks just as good as the first time! And she's so pleasant. She talks to him, too. He enjoys going to her for a haircut! He'll be back!
Requested style: Boy's haircut. She has the cut info for him in the computer. No guess-work!
Stylist: Courtney

Update June 2024. Still a solid 5 stars. Checked in online and was seated within one minute upon arrival. I waived the shampoo but did opt for the razor neck shave after my haircut. Friendly crew. Still great prices and service.
Another great experience, thanks to the stylist who I was paired with. I don't mind paying a few dollars more to get my hair cut here rather than at the other well-known competitor chain. The competitor's price includes, as does Hair & Company, complimentary shampoo and neck razor cut. The competitor never offers these complimentary services - never - and I used to go there constantly. At Hair & Company, I am offered everything that's included in the price, even though I always decline. But the proper thing for the staff to do is to offer. My stylist asked questions, engaged me in what she was doing with my hair, and performed perfectly.
Hair & Company Fort Collins fills a niche in value hair services, in my opinion.

Showed a picture of the haircut I've been getting at great clips for years with no problem. She didn't ask a single question about the picture. I had to make the stylist look at the picture again when she was obviously cutting it too long. She realized what she was doing wrong and restarted. Even still, most of the haircut was obviously not good and I gritted my teeth because she wasn't taking the feedback constructively (i only objected 2 or 3 times). In my previous experience, stylists always ask for clarification and feedback as they go. The lady was in her own head and didn't seem to care what I wanted at all.
When she was done cutting my hair she directed me to get my eyebrows waxed in another chair (which i ended up not allowing her to do)....but she hadn't shown me the haircut at all, and hadn't even brushed out the texturized bits so when I stopped her and started checking my hair...clumps of hair were still coming out. She didn't ask me if I wanted it blow dried or ask if everything looked right. She left hair all over me.
I told her it wasn't the shape cut of the photo...and a stylist in another station interrupted and told me I should've asked for "a-line," as though the stylist couldn't figure out the terminology herself by looking at the photo (if she cant...I have no idea why the other stylist thought I would know the magic words). BTW, that interrupting stylist had answered the phone earlier and was super rude and surly to the person she was talking to. And was again rude to some people who were trying to make an appointment...because they're "walk-in only." Not sure why they deserve her to be rude...they didn't know that.
My stylist was nicer but unfortunately didn't do an adequate job. I have no idea how to contact the company to ask for a refund. To be fair....my stylist offered to fix it further but I just simply couldn't trust her at that point. Asked someone at a different salon and she told me how she would fix it...but now I'm out the cost if two haircuts and it's not even really what I wanted. I'm poetically just going to accept the ugly haircut and let it grow out

They declined to take us because it was too close to close, but it was before close, and they might have to stay late. Poor customer service and a bad way to make money if it was my business.

As gently as I can put it: the service was terrible, and the stylist and management were absolutely unprofessional. Cost cutters experience for a professional price. Very, very disappointed. Save your hair and go somewhere else. I spent *hours* trying to fix my friend’s hair.

My husband got his haircut here last month for the first time and we were so pleased with Alexis. She knew what to do. This will be his go to place for haircut from now on.

Last hair cut I received was from a very young girl she was nice and all but she cut my hair way to short. If you can try and get Betty to cut your hair from talking to her she has been cutting hair a very long time and I’m always happy with her hair cut. I must not be the only one that feels this way because Betty is always booked up.

I am so disappointed. This business has definitely gone down hill. I’ve been taking my dad here for years. The is will be the last. As usual, he asked for a military haircut. She buzzed off all his hair! Then argued with me that he asked for it. I could hear the conversation, he did not ask for a buzz cut.
But to top off the experience by arguing with me is so inappropriate. She missed her mark on keeping a good customer.

I have been using Hair & company for 4 to 5 years but when you were able to make appointments. Like go to Hairdresser was Becky. When I went in December, Becky was immediately available. I walked over ready to be seated, but we sent back to sign in. Just as I was finishing another gentleman walked in. I was told I’d have to wait for the next available Hairdresser. No explanation, not even a polite ask. After 10 minutes I got the next available Hairdresser who did a pretty poor job. A cut that usually last me two months lasted me one and I kept finding hair of different length in areas that I had to trim back myself afterwards. I had asked for a natural taper at the rear instead of a straight line, but instead I got a curved line. I like to think I tip well, but for some reason I get the feeling they do not want my custom here so I’m going elsewhere from now on.
