Great museum with a collection of folk art, including miniatures. Rotating exhibits cover different areas and themes, largely focused on the cultures of ordinary people in different places. Good hands-on activities for children. Inspiration to travel, collect, photograph, create, and display.
Inexpensive admission. Enthusiastic volunteer staff. Small gift shop with unique decorative items and jewelry - not exorbitantly expensive either.
A great find in Ft Collins close to Old Town!

It looks small but allow plenty of time. In addition to the changing featured displays there is a huge permananent collection of items from all over the world. Many are small with tiny details and you can take plenty of time enjoying the details and learning about countries and cultures and leave wanting to learn more. This is a hidden gem in downtown Fort Collins that would be interesting to all ages, even as simply art and craft if the culture is not your thing or for children. Homeschoolers, this is a fantastic field trip. Easy parking, low cost.

This was an amazing visit! It was quiet, well curated, and fun. The kids sat and colored a picture while I read the art and artifact signs. There was a whole hands-on music exhibit in the back that the kids loved. Almost every exhibit area had something for little kids to do or touch. There is also a search the kids can do to find little gnomes, just like the Museum of Nature and Science.

This is one of the best kept secrets in Northern Colorado. The museum offers many events throughout the year about different countries. Well respected speakers who not only are travelers, many are professors with more in depth knowledge about the seasons countries being on display. Don't miss the annual holiday displays. My favorite is the Dia de Las Muertos. Many local families, including students, share their own displays. Looking for something exciting and different to show guests this weekend? Come to the Global Village Museum.

We had a great afternoon visit here. There was a special exhibit on Girl Scouts and one of the volunteers gave us the BEST tour of all the items which I think really added to our time there. They have thought a lot about the Girl Scout exhibit. We also enjoyed letting the kids play music in the music room and searching for gnomes in the figurine area. It's a great place to visit (check out the passes from the library ahead of time). It isn't that big, but it was nicely kept up and interesting.

Interesting place to spend about an hour looking around. I took my 2 grandsons, ages 7 & 9. We had fun looking at all the miniatures in several rooms & trying to find the 6. 1" gnomes that were hidden within the displays. The items for sale in their gift shop were reasonably priced.

We very muxhenjoyed the exhibits at the Global Museum of Arts. It was special to see children's drawings that are part of the Mythical Beasts exhibit. It's nice that the allow attendees to participate in an exhibit. The miniatures from different counties can take a long time to look at aa there are so many amazing miniature pieces.
