My dog is very excitable and just as I was getting her settled down this toddler pushed through the gate and ran into the room. My dog went crazy and it's my responsibility to take my dog out to calm her down again?? Then after the toddler left I brought her back in the room. Just as I was getting her calmed down again, 2 toddlers approached the gate and my dog went crazy again. Thats when I decided I can't compete with children interrupting the class.gate

I took a class last winter, hopefully this teacher is no longer there. She was young. I was not impressed because she wasn't focused on her students. I should have asked for my money back. She often rushed through things. She didn't have an awareness of how to teach human adults, by saying something , show something, say it again in a different way, show it again slowly. She said it once, showed it quickly then expected us to do it. She would show something, then have us go do it while she talked with her friends she brought in. She didn't pay attention to her students. She only offered help when I was struggling if I asked for her help, she didn't notice when people were struggling. She was stern and not approachable. She said she had lots of experience training. Perhaps that was true but she needs to work on people skills to be a group dog trainer. This intro class was designed to rush us through a program of a bunch of different things every time so that maybe we felt we learned a lot and got our moneys worth, rather than make sure we had important things down really well. The instructor said that after we finished the class we could come in for open play. I called and left a message about this twice but no one called me back. The place was freezing cold in the winter and smelly. I've heard other people like this place, but I won't go back. I also read the review about a woman abusing a dog here and people being rude. Big fat NO.

I had a troubling experience with the Canine Learning Center (CLC) about a year ago. I chose CLC because I was looking for a daycare that would behavior-match dogs, particularly for my selectively social dog who prefers calmer, chiller dogs as friends. After my dog passed his intro assessment with Julie (the owner), I felt confident about the techniques used by her staff to manage dog behavior. He even got an A+ report card after his first day of daycare! But on his second day at CLC, my dog was involved in a fight with an aggressive dog when Julie was not present. Her staff had separated the dogs earlier in the day, but they were allowed to interact *again* in the afternoon, leading to the fight. I was told that the other dog was the instigator, but that my dog "shouldn't have reacted so strongly to being attacked." Julie's manager placed the blame on my dog, even though she wasn't present during the incident and didn't witness it herself. Both dogs were expelled from CLC. And later, Julie admitted that her staff missed a crucial step in handling the situation (putting the aggressive dog in timeout after the morning incident) and I'm left to wonder if the fight would've been avoided if this step had been taken initially. As a result, my dog sustained puncture wounds to his face and required a $300+ urgent care visit. He has scars a year later. Ultimately, I felt that my dog was stereotyped and misunderstood by the CLC staff, and his needs were mishandled. While Julie offered free private lessons to make amends, I ultimately lost trust in CLC and wouldn't return.

I would not recommend you take your dog here. First off, they cancelled my entire 6-week class an hour before the class was supposed to begin. Then the trainer seemed annoyed that he was a slightly older puppy (4months).Secondly, for a canine center they had no grass for my dog to go to the bathroom. The trainer would not let my puppy play with all the other puppies because he was "too big", he is a pointer. We instead had to go back to the kennel room and play with two German shepards , one of them being rather aggressive. Basically she just assumed my dog couldn't play well with other dogs even though I assured her he was well socialized. She made me feel like my dog was too energetic and she couldn't handle him. After 6 weeks she kept calling my male dog a female and the trainer didn't even know his name and making passive aggressive comments about his size. We started with 10 puppies in the class and by then end there were 3, I think that speaks for itself. My dog did learn a few new commands but overall I was dissatisfied with my experience and won't be bringing him back. Spend a little more money and go elsewhere!!

Over the years, I've done tons of dog training with Julie and her staff at the Canine Learning Center. They're always positive and you leave feeling good and motivated to work with your dog. Our dogs love training there! The staff is very skilled at reading dog behavior and teaching you the best ways to teach your dog. I'm so thankful for their guidance! Highly recommend!

Love Canine Learning Center - training is personal, loads of experience behind the methods and approaches. No only for training dogs, also for the person training the dog. There are classes for puppies, classes for obtaining a Canine Good Citizen certification, Nose work, drop in classes for Obedience and Confirmation. Lots to choose from. Highly recommend! Reasonable rates too. Worth the drive as I live on the opposite end of Fort Collins. Check them out!

Lucy loves going to doggy daycare every week. When we drive up to the building her tail starts wagging. She has the same friends there...both canine and human.

The Canine Learning center teaches the training techniques AND helps understand your canine companion point of view. I have a very "excited to greet people and dogs" dog. She just loves everyone - alot. On her first visit to the Canine Learning Center (CLC) she did extremely well! I was amazed - on her first visit! I highly recommend CLC to all. They go above and beyond every day.

Wonderful and very supportive place to train your dog!I have been taking classes and attending drop ins for almost three years now and I have been very happy with my experience. Owner and trainer, Julie, is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and encouraging towards her students. She was an instrumental part in helping my undersocialized ACD gain confidence and become a more well-rounded dog. Millie has a full body wag whenever we walk through the door :)I have also taken puppy kindergarten and basic obedience with Karen, who is another wonderfully knowledgeable trainer! She is very friendly and happy to answer questions. The training community at the CLC is welcoming and very helpful to new handlers. We always enjoy seeing our friends, human and canine alike!

Been taking Charlie Brown (lab) for day care for a couple of years. He has so much fun and has learned to socialize and share. He is so excited to go to day care. The people there really love the animals.

I cannot say enough about our experience with Canine Learning Center. What an amazing and positive experience for the entire 6week Obedience Course. Charlie (whippet/Pitt- Puerto Rican rescue) loved the course. She looked forward to seeing her friends and learning new skills every week. Julie is so patient with both the canines and the humans. I learned how to be a much better pet parent. Her behavior is markedly better, so much so in fact that friends and family comment how they notice. She was always a sweet girl, but overly excited to the point of annoyance. Now she is sweet, loving and a joy to be around. Thank you, CLC for bringing out the best in my girl!

I already had a little bit of knowledge with being in the ring. And when I went in for my first time I brought my puppy Titan, I was really impressed with the trainer because I immediately knew she had extreme knowledge about shapes structures and sizes and she had a very good eye for watching as you walk around the ring

Sukha our 5 month old puppy is enjoying her time at daycare. It has really helped us move forward on her dog training too. The staff supports us with extra dog training and kennel sessions during her time at day care. We hope to take a nosework class soon too.
