Simply the best commercial range in the area. Professional Range Safety Officers keep things running well and safe.

The time I spent today at the Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex was fantastic! I enjoyed every part of it from receiving a good safety briefing to sending rounds down range. The range masters were extremely professional and helpful as they continued their movement/supervision up and down the firing line.
I haven't been there in some time but I guarantee I will be going again soon. Thank you again to all the range personnel!

Look Dave, a woman learned how to use Google too! This was our first time at this range and boy was it a rough start. We walk in and Dave greets us and asks if we brought guns, I am the gun person in our family, so I take the lead on the conversation. I say yes, to which he says "very good." He asks what kinds and I start to answer then look away to my husband to see if i forgot any and Dave says "don't look at him, I'm the one asking you." I was stunned that he must have mistaken me, a 30yr old woman, for an army recruit and just stared at him. He then instructs us to read the rules on the wall to our left, then come back and sign the waiver. HE LOOKS RIGHT AT ME and adds "if there are any words up there that are too long or confusing, ask him (looks at my husband) to Google them for you." 2 more people came in, and we were still staring at the wall trying to decide to leave or stay when good old boy Dave shouts to us "you two are the slowest readers!" My husband tried to lighten the mood and said "we're just trying to be thorough." If our friends hadn't already been out there waiting for us I would have left with a certain finger in the air and gone to Magnum. But I kept my mouth shut and we worked with the other guy behind the counter WHO WAS ACTUALLY NICE. And the range officer was AWESOME. So it was quite surprising that Dave was such an ass. I don't know if he has a problem with women or just picks one person in every group to belittle. It's 2024 dude. You need to do better. Especially if you work with customers and want them to come back or leave a good review.

I adore this place; it's clean and safe.
The staff are pleasant and helpful. In fact, I'm new to pistol red dots, and the range safety officer took time to assist me. in zeroing my red dot. Prices are competitive and fair. After making a single payment of $14, you can return throughout the day. If you're searching for a new range or your first one, this one exudes a positive vibe and doesn't intimidate or overpower new shooters. This is your place.

Don’t come here as in inexperienced shooter hoping for tips and insight. The staff inside was very friendly, and supportive but these RSO must be ex military as they are all on one huge power trip. The rules they rattle off to you are not posted anywhere to my knowledge as it was not brought to my attention but they scream at you the second you do something. Go indoors if you want support and comfort.

One of the most professional ranges I have ever been to. The staff there is top notch. Stephanie was our RSO at range 3. It was evident that safety was a top priority.

Awesome place to go shoot with killer Mountain sights in the background. For morale day, my unit brought us all in the morning to go skeet shooting. Thank god for Warrior Adventure Quest (WAQ) because this experience was a lot of fun.

Great public range. I chose Cheyenne Mountain so I could get scope settings for 200 and 300 yds for my hunting rifle. They run 30 min shooting sessions before target changing so plenry of opportunity to pit up fresh targets and let the barrel cool down.

Judge this place by their bad reviews. You'll find that the complainers all bellyache about the strict enforcement of reasonable range safety rules. I much prefer a range with this level of dedication to safety. The range safety officers can be a bit gruff, but they're just doing their jobs.
Being outdoors, this range is a bit weathered from the elements, but the infrastructure is mostly in good shape. Firing lines are protected from sun and rain and you'll find typical barriers between shooting lanes to protect you from flying brass. This range allows the firing of "green tip" NATO rounds as well as large-caliber cartriges, both of which are prohibited at most other ranges in the area. Unfortunately, those permissions mean that the range experience can be much louder and more intense than at an indoor range. Expect to sweep up your own casings.
For the downsides: the access roads are unpaved and include a crossing that is subject to high water after intense weather, so if you have the option, bring a vehicle with a higher clearance. There's no running water, so the bathrooms are portajohns, which some people aren't keen on using. Online pricing doesn't mention the requirement of a target stand, which will cost you $6 or $9, depending on which one you buy. This range doesn't update their hours on days when the employees are on leave, so call ahead if you plan to shoot on or around a holiday (example: they were closed the Saturday that was two days after July 4th). Ranges are in full sunlight, which is nice for general shooting, but lousy if you want to zero new optics using a boresight. This also means they can be muddy after rain or snow. I also thought some conditions in the mandatory range waiver were a bit excessive, but whatever, lawyers gonna lawyer. ?
Update: I recently bought a 10-punch pass at this range. I was admitted to the range for free on the day that I bought it, making it technically an 11-punch pass. You can use punches to admit people joining you at the range, which is a great benefit. The one downside is that unused punches expire after a year.

Excellent range with a strong focus on safety. I spent nearly 5 hours on my first trip. Everyone from the front counter to the RSO were welcoming and respectful. They did ensure people followed the safety rules though so if you can't you may as well not go. See the 1 star reviews for not following the rules examples.

Having to pull your own targets with a delay control was kinda bizarre.

Absolutely love this place I wish I knew about it sooner! Staff is very kind and accommodating to first time shooters, very knowledgeable and of course stern with their rules which is expected when it comes to dealing with guns! I felt very safe shooting for my first time and staff remained helpful and always willing to answer any questions we had! Prices are great and the area is quite nice. Hope to come by again!
