We took my Shih Tzu into the hospital. She was very sick and dehydrated. She was vomiting and not eating. We paid $160.00 upfront to get a room. They came into the room did a basic exam and said that they needed to do a blood panel on her to know what was going on. We agreed to that. They the said they would put together a estimate for us for the cost, and told us to apply for care credit so that we could pay for the services. My husband applied and got accepted. She kept coming back in and asking if we got accepted and for how much. We told her, she came back and said the blood work and x ray would be $1300.00 we said okay because we where so scared for our sweet girl. They had her in the back for approximately 25 minutes. They said that she was a vicious dog because she growled and try to bite them so they sedated her and had a muzzle on her. She is 7 pounds and very sick and small, I think this was completely uncalled for!!! They said that they would bring us another estimate. In total we got 5 estimates that evening. It went from $1300.00 to $3200 to $4900.00 to $5600.00 and the final estimate was $7082.00. We arrived with her at 4:45 pm and got home at 11:30 pm, no treatment was given to my dog in that amount of time. Except sedation and a x ray of her abdomen, and a blood draw. They said we could think about the treatment for her because this serious and she could pass away, the vet also stated it could be Leptospirosis and asked if I had wildlife or rodents in my backyard! What are you talking about! Again wasting time and playing on our emotions. So being there for over 6 hours without treatment and the only concern was money, my husband I walked out to get her treatment. They called me an hour later to ask if I was outside or near by, because they didn't see us in the room and wanted to ask if we agreed to the final estimate. They also stated if not we owed the an additional balance of $1006.25. For what I have no idea? Was it for the sedation injection, blood draw and a x ray I guess? I hope that this review will help anyone in need of treatment for there pets to seek another place to avoid the rehearsed scam that we dealt with. Please know that this is not about the treatment of the concern of your dear pets, but all about criminal financial gain by taking advantage of the pet owner by using technique of the emotion manipulation.

Gave our furry friend the best care before his passing. Thank you for taking care of Leo and the postcard sent over to us.

$160 for emergency for my cat might be okay, but after 3 hours all I received is a prescription for pain. They wanted $200 for the pain medication which I got at Walmart for $4.46. That's more than a 400% mark-up. I have made an appointment with my regular vet in 3 days. Marianna F

I have been here twice for my dog. Once when she had to be seen emergently for a UTI and once for accidental caffeine ingestion. Each time, everyone that I spoke with and came in contact with were all very friendly and caring. I have been to other emergency vets in the past and this is right up there with them. I would recommend this vet to anyone.

When it was time for my daughter's Baby boy and my Baby boy 7 weeks later to say goodbye. Everyone there was super caring and empathetic to our situation. They let us know that we had made the right choice to let them go and not suffer anymore. Even though I was crushed and crying, I believe they were truly in the moment with me. I got a rosewood urn that is so beautiful and a clay paw print along with a clipping of his hair an ink print of his little nose. They did what they could and for that I am Ever grateful.

I would never again bring an animal there. They charge more than double to treat your pet. They come in with a sheet of paper with all of the procedures that they can do, of course they do not all need to be done, but I guess they're hoping that you may be d*** enough to have them all done. But the estimate for me was $1,500, my dog had an obvious they could not hear her heart beat very well at all, I had to put her to sleep. The cost, almost $600. I don't know how they feel that what they do and how they do it is okay. Save your money and go elsewhere

This place was one of the worst places I have ever dealt with. My puppy was seriously injured Tuesday. I took him in and before the even saw him they demanded payment up front. They took him back and I sat in the room. The doctor comes back and tells me he isn't seriously hurt just banged up. Not once did they show me his X-rays. Then he comes back in says another doctor looked and he had a fractured pelvis and all he would need is kennel care and he should heal. We were sent home with no antibiotic. We were home for about 2 hours and they called back and said he would need surgery. They charged a hefty price and not even all of his injury's were found. They didn't give him the meds he needed to relax him to get the right X-rays. They are rude and not all your needs are meet I was hung up on. 5 doctors and a specialist looked at him and it was another hospital who found the true underlying issues. If you care about your fur babies this is absolutely the last place I would take them. It's awful and poor care!

Terrible place to take your pet, my pup was hit by a car took him in extremely rude and demanded payment before even finding out what happened. Once we paid and got him in we were told it was just scrapes and that was it . After their dr and their X-ray tech looked at X-rays we were told of one break . 2 hours later got a call from a different doctor saying his leg is broken. Took him to another hospital for surgery and turns out he has a 3rd break and that we should have took him to the 2nd hospital immediately after being told to take him home . If you value your pet STAY AWAY FROM HERE! Anywhere but here has to be better .

I strongly recommend you skip this hospital and just add 30 to 40 minutes of your drive to Fort Collins. Unfortunately, I have been to this hospital a few times with my dogs. The final straw happened last night. My dog required a second life-saving surgery in two months because he swallows things like socks or dish towels. This would've added up to a total cost of $12,000 in two months. I told Dr. Waite I was upset about this and that I was not leaning towards paying for the surgery because I could pay for a new dog 5 times over for the cost of the additional surgery. Instead of cooperating with me, the animal's owner, she went behind my back and called my wife to make an emotional plea to her because she disagreed with my thinking as to whether or not I should spend that kind of money on surgery for a dog. She didn't even ask about extenuating circumstances behind my thinking before she disregarded how I felt and went behind my back. While she was on the phone with my wife, I asked a couple extra questions about the risks and benefits about the surgery the veterinarian demanded I pay for and she didn't answer the question. Instead, she responded with a dismissive comment justifying her view. This has, predictably, caused all kinds of difficulties. Basically what I'm saying is, you can get the same procedure at less cost (try Animal Works in Fort Collins during business hours or some other hospital outside of business hours) and not be treated poorly by a vet who thinks little of you.

Wonderful! My dog crossed the rainbow Bridge on January 4th 2022. Months prior to we knew it was her time to go, and I wasn't sure where to go just because she was 15 and wasn't registered under any vet so I had been searching where she could go and where it could be affordable. I came across the pet emergency hospital and gave them a call, they let me know what I had to do for them and for her and I did just that. It came to the dreadful day of putting my baby to sleep and let me just say this, everyone was so kind to me and my dog. They made sure she was comfortable and they let me be with her in her final moments. And the after care is amazing too! When I got her ashes back, it was within a week and a half, I was expected longer just because it was after the holidays but they did it fast and I appreciate it! Thank you!

My cat was sick, sneezing with some discharge. I brought her in in a crate and they couldn't get to her right away. They said they would keep her till they had time and that I could pick her up after I got off work at 5 AM. Well they finished up around 11:30 PM and said they would keep her, no charge. When I got her home and took her out of the crate she was soaking wet in her own pee, I'm sure they could have put a puppy pad in there if that's where they were keeping her. They also said to be sure she was eating and drinking. She was starving when I got her home. If I had known they were going to treat her like that I would have left work and brought her home. I also feel that maybe she didn't the sedation to get a good look up her nose to determine the cause of sneezing and discharge. When I took her in I figured she would get some antibiotics and come back home. Instead we did the nose probe at quite some additional expense. I won't be going back.

We took our puppy here yesterday. Mixed feelings about our visit. We arrived to find that we cannot walk in due to their Covid protocols. When we followed the directions to call from the parking lot, the individual answering the phone was not very personable. Very curt in her communication to me, and not very understanding of my confusion on how the process worked for them. Demanded $120 payment prior to filling out any paperwork. She came out to the car to hand us forms to fill out and was very condescending towards me, then when I questioned if there was a problem and stated my concern for the way I was being addressed. The woman had an angry demeanor and said that I was very rude. This was confusing to both my wife and I, as we did not think that we were being that way. The rest of the visit we dealt with other staff, who were very kind, professional and quick to take care of our puppy. They asked our budget and tailored a treatment plan that fit in our price range. The doctor called and was very concise with her action plan and we had our puppy back within 2 hours of arrival. I was quite please with the care we received, however the initial contact with front line staff was very poor. It taints my review of the service. I would otherwise say 5 stars, for care, speed of diagnosis and treatment, and professionalism. First impression was to drive off, because we were treated like unwanted customers. I get that these are trying times, but your customer base is what pays the bills.

while the staff and doctors are friendly, they don't communicate with one another and or it's all just a money grab. they don't listen to the owner when you say you have no money. I specifically stated I just want antibiotics for my dog. the forced x-rays (which showed nothing) and blood work (which stated was great) and cost me over $1100 and only got antibiotics anyway! they said she had pneumonia which made sense because she was terribly sick. she got worse after taking her there. had to go back and spend more money and meds. and 4 days later we just had to put her down because she was suffering so bad. this vet has no compassion for animals and just sent my dog home while I was syringe feeding her. they just want money not to help. RIP DOLLY

Our dog has been treated at Pets Emergency Hospital two time. Dr. Claire Tovrea has been our vet. She has done a great job. Not only has her treatment of our dog been phenomenal, her communication with us regarding the dog we love was great and she clearly loves the animals. I would highly recommend her and Pets Emergency Hospital to anyone who loves their pet.
