I had an emergency while here on vacation and because it was late, I had no other options but to go here alone. You never want to go to the ER, let alone away from home, but I’m so grateful for the staff who took care of me. Every single nurse, doctor, NP, phlebotomist, and the receptionist I met was so kind, patient, and empathetic. I felt safe and secure here and I can’t be more thankful that I found myself in good hands - as well as checked in and out in amazing time.

I was visiting Estes Park from out of town, by myself, and had an emergency that required surgery. Everyone here was very caring and compassionate, and extremely efficient. I was admitted immediately, had a CT scan done within an hour and a diagnosis. The surgeon came in during the middle of the night and we made a plan together. I am now in recovery, feeling much better, under the attentive care of the amazing nursing staff. My sincere gratitude to all of the amazing people here.

Avoid this emergency department at all cost. Physician billed us separately from hospital for ER visit (Harvey Sheppard, MD). 4X our visit estimate we were told at the door for a 30 minute visit. Will be filling a complaint with DORA and CMP.

The urgent care was okay, but don't go here if you value your money. They make inappropriate billings by claiming testing on another site means they cannot bill as urgent care. So you get a surprise bill, which they say isn't a surprise. You file a dispute and they ignore that. You get your insurance company to tell them to change the billing and they ignore that. Then they send you to collections. All the time, their communications were nasty to me. And I can't seem to find recourse with collections either. Now, the amount isn't enough to hire a lawyer, but I suspect that is the only way to fight them because they ignore the law. The collection agency didn't even read my email detailing everything, so my credit will get messed up unless I just pay them off.

Please think twice before going to Estes Park Health. I left 4 voicemails, and sent countless emails to them about setting up a payment plan. They never got back to me once, and sent my bill to a collection agency. They are uncommunicative and punitive. I was in a very difficult situation after my health scare and I received absolutely no help or explanation and the bills just kept coming. Beware!!!

The night duty doctor and the people who took me in when I went there in the night were the most kindest and loving people. They were very considerate and diagnosed me correctly. I am so grateful and Thankyou for the entire team.

The checkin process all the way to my discharge from the ER was unprofessional and appalling. I would rather drive an hour to Boulder with a medical emergency than be seen here ever again. The nurses and doctors were complacent, cold and unwilling to listen. I do not recommend this hospital unless it’s a life and death situation.

I just spent two days in the Estes Park Medical Center and was pleasantly surprised. I had heard negative things about this hospital so I was not expecting to get the excellent care that I received while I was there. The entire hospital staff from the Doctors, Nurses, Respiratory Therapist were all so nice and took such wonderful care of me. They all knew what they were doing and I was very confident in under their care. Even the food service staff was kind and accommodating and the food was good. Overall it was a very good experience. Very slow, unresponsive. Seemed understaffed or the staff was lazy and didn't want to work, The place was practically empty but it took way too many hours to get some wounds cleaned up.

Thank you for your kindness, listening ears and prompt service. One of the best ER experiences we have ever encountered.

This ER and it's staff are top notch. My husband and I are visiting from out of state and only on day 2 of our vacation when he developed acute appendicitis. Within 1 hour of walking through the doors they had an IV in, pain meds and fluids on board and a CT scan done confirming the diagnosis of appendicitis. I am so very thankful this was the hospital nearest us because they treated us so kindly and allowed me (a nurse) to be involved in his care. It's pretty scary being all alone in an unfamiliar place while having a medical emergency requiring surgery. Within 8 hours he was discharged to me and back comfortably in our cabin. Dr. Woodard, our surgeon, gave us options and allowed my husband to make his own informed decisions. This hospital is the definition of patient centered care. Our nurse (I so wish I could remember her name!) was stellar and a literal angel. She even packed us some soup and snacks to take home since I was so nervous to drive (husband always drives when we're not in our home state). I don't normally leave reviews on anything but felt this hospital and their staff deserve some recognition. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys are the best!

My wife has Covid and continues to have trouble breathing. This makeshift hospital refuses to help. We are definitely feeling some discrimination because we don’t have the vaccine. When a person has very obvious, labored breathing you should be able to offer some kind of help. Another doctor also asked my wife to go to the ER in the first place! Dr. Meyer made my wife feel small and might need to be reminded of the Core Tenets of the Hippocratic Oath.

I was visiting from out of town and experiencing shortness of breath. I went to the ER & was promptly placed in a wheelchair and taken into an examination room. Nicole was excellent in making me feel at ease and being an all-around excellent nurse. Tyler, the Dr. & those whose names I can't recall, were also awesome. They conducted a very thorough series of tests. Ekg, blood & urine, chest xray, etc.. they sent me off with a clean bill of health and I was able to enjoy the rest of my visit in Estes :-)

I'd choose zero stars if possible... Worthless staff (including doctor) and billing "practices." Dr. John Meyer is truly worthless. He came to my room for quite literally 1 minute. I diagnosed myself and he said "sure let's go with that." Never to be seen again. I have insurance and never received a bill for the balance not covered by insurance. Yet somehow I managed to receive a letter threatening to send to collections. I NEVER RECEIVED ONE BILL!!!!!! The charge for the "doctor" visit was appalling. He literally did NOTHING. It actually is robbery and they get away with it!!! Good luck trying to get through to "customer service." Had I actually received a bill I WOULD HAVE PAID IT IMMEDIATELY. This truly is an incompetent hospital and luckily I'll never be back as I thankfully do not live there. Reading many of the other reviews and it's shocking how similar many of them are (in a very negative way). Yet nothing will change. Disgusting. Editing to include the fact that there was ZERO follow up to this. I emailed the address (as listed) and of course, never heard back. This was weeks ago. By all means, if you can help it, GO ELSEWHERE!!!! Shady, awful service and billing practices that won't bother responding to your concerns!
