Colter worked up a quote for a substantial modification on my truck. The price was fair and he answered all my questions (I have a Ranger and this was the first Ranger they'd done, so I had logistical questions). I scheduled a drop off and they completed the work in the time frame they estimated. Both employees I dealt with were friendly and knowledgable. The mod has been great so far and I highly recommend this shop. Fair prices, quality employees, and actually doing what you say is rare in today's society. I appreciate their workmanship and their commitment to taking care of me and my truck.

I just had a go fast camper installed by these folks. I can’t say enough good things about dealing with them. Scheduling was easy. They started the installation right on time and were great and answering questions during the installation. Highly highly highly recommend them!!!

I believe TRU Automotive is a business where customer service is only good when the owner of the shop or person in charge is present. When they’re not around, it's a completely different experience. Today was the second and last time I took my Toyota Hiace to this shop for an oil change. I decided to wait for my vehicle and realized I had forgotten my water bottle at home. I had to ask for some water, got forgotten by the front desk, and had to remember him about it. I was embarrassed.
The waiting area is uncomfortable, with just two stools and a table. Fortunately, I was the only one waiting, otherwise, I would have to stand on my feet for an hour or take a Lyft home and come back in 30 minutes.
When I was heading to my vehicle after the service, I was nearly run over by a mechanic who was speeding while backing up a vehicle from the shop toward the parking lot. He didn’t check his mirrors, and I was shocked. I’m lucky I didn’t step forward, or I’d likely be in the hospital right now. Neither he nor the other mechanics inside the shop said a word. No apologies, just complete indifference. When I got inside my vehicle, I noticed that a compartment that closes with snaps had been left open, as shown in the pictures. When I take my vehicle for a service, I expect it to be returned in the same condition I left it in.
I felt as though I was being treated like I was asking for a favor, but I paid for the service. It makes me wonder if that’s how they treat a customer they don’t want to come again. If that’s the case, congratulations! I won’t be returning.

Nice easy-going people, reasonable prices, good location. The driver’s seat was a little dirty after the oil change but no big deal. I’d like to go back.

Fast, reliable, knowledgeable. You won’t wait over 2 weeks to get in, and you’ll know what’s wrong with your vehicle as soon as the next day. Highly recommended!

Used to be amazing when they were smaller but since they have grown service and repair quality is an issue.
Most recently the bumper they added in 2017 was found, by another shop, to have been rubbing on a hose on my AC for years and caused a leak. $1,400 in so far but could be more. Pics show the install clearly rubbing. Could’ve been wear and tear but could have been install. With other issues I don’t trust them anymore.
They mentioned after I gave the feedback they wish I would have brought it to them. Why? More time? The trust was lost. Do people return to restaurants that give them food poisoning? Places where they receive bad service. No.
Prior issues include a squeak in the front bumper install that they thought was brakes and replaced the brakes a second time. I paid for the first set as I needed them replaced before the squeak. Second time was on them as they thought the first set was faulty. After second set of brakes replaced still squeaked brought it in again. After pressing to have the owner look at it as the tech couldn't figure out where the squeaking was from it was their work from front end. The bumper that has been rubbing on my AC hose. I get it but the misdiagnosis cost me time and seemed not too hard to find once I had the owner look at. Thanks for the free brakes.
Different 2001 four runner brought in. Leaking oil. Diagnosed with one expensive repair and paid them. But after speaking with a friend it didn’t make sense why that repair was the cause of a large oil leak under the vehicle. I just trusted their recommendation. Asked again and the owner said it was a nut on the oil tank that wasn’t put on correctly from the last oil change. Again, had to speak to the owner to get straight answers. That’s what was causing the larger leak not the recommended paid for repair. We did have a little leak from the top of the engine but the larger leak was not addressed until I asked after fact. Plot twist, they had done the most recent oil change and didn’t put the nut on correctly. No mention of a faulty nut until I asked. No mention of this on the work order. I know the statement is we had an oil change five months ago. But am I really going to get another oil change five months after just to say they did poor work? This was totally their poor work. And the temp gage was not working when I picked it up. $1000 repair. It sure was when I dropped it off.
Another occurrence. They are unresponsive in a timely manner for a build requests. Looks like another review had the same issue recently. I emailed several times without a response but they had done what seemed to be good work in the past so I wanted to go with them. Other shops responded within a few hours. I drove to the shop after several days. I would get a response, ask another question and then wait a few more days. They stated they were busy but when I stopped in the staff, including the manager, were all sitting in the shop eating breakfast burritos and watching YouTube. I get you need breaks but didn't seem too professional or too busy.
I have recommended friends to this shop and they have experienced the same. Long response times.
After asking to speak to the owner as I worked with him in the past before I did go forward with build and pre-paid for everything. Unfortunately I did need a refund last minute for that build as we had a financial emergency. It was nice to get a refund but I paid a ton for return shipping fees. I didn’t ask for an invoice to see the return fees but I did feel it was excessive. I appreciated the refund so I didn't worry too much about a receipt.
There are other shops in Denver that can offer great builds, service and prices. Shop around. This experience has put me out over a grand in poor work that had to be redone. The shop I am currently going to, to fix the faulty work, is wonderful and not hard to find though a google search and talking to other Toyota owners.

Tru Automotive is the only shop I trust with my 2017 4Runner. They have exclusively worked on my car for the past several years and even though it is significantly out of the way for me I still have them do all of my service.
Their knowledge is unmatched, the passion they have for what they do clearly shines through in their work, and their level of integrity and honesty is something rare in today’s society let alone the automotive industry.
If you want nothing but the best for your Toyota going to any shop other than Tru Automotive is a mistake.
