I scheduled a box for delivery on 2/23 with a pickup on 2/24. Someone named Stephen from Bailey's Moving and Storage called me (seven two zero seven six five one five three four) and gave me some lame excuse about his truck being cold and not being able to deliver the box as planned. Well for starters, nobody at SMARTBOX told me they contract out the pickup and drop off of the boxes or I wouldn't have hired them. No accountability. None the less, I agreed that he could drop off the box on Friday, 2/24 since the movers were coming on Friday. He dropped off the box and has not been seen or heard of since. The scheduled pickup was Friday, 2/24 late in the day and the box was locked and loaded as planned. It is Monday, 2/27 at 8:42pm and the box is on a public sidewalk in Denver! Stephen hasn't answered his cell phone or text back, I spent 35 minutes on hold for SMARTBOX on Saturday and never got through to anyone, apparently only sales folks work the weekends. Tonight I got through to sales and I was given the name of the smartbox franchise owner in Denver, but no idea if this is correct or not since the call went to voicemail. The name I was given was Chris at three zero three seven eight five one zero zero nine. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, STAY AWAY!

We got a Smartbox some time ago for a remodel project and then I got sick for a long time and everything went on hold. Smartbox was supportive and helpful as we needed to keep the box for an extended time. We finally finished this week.Stephen from Bailey Moving and Storage just picked up the Smartbox, maneuvering our narrow road, and narrower, hilly driveway - WITHOUT bumping my favorite evergreen tree!? a bit of a feat. Thank you!!!!!Will definitely use again if needed.

I have been on hold for three days. Everyone I emailed is out of office. The chatbox has given me someone will be with you momentarily every minute for the last 3 hours with no one responding. This company has everything I own and I can't get a single person to respond so I can get it back. Honestly this should be illegal.

This company has been awful from the start. I found them online and hired them for my July 2021 move. As the date got closer to my moving date, I tried calling, emailing and using their online chat feature (which conveniently is always down) and I could never get ahold of anyone, because I needed to find out what time they would be delivering the box. When I could never reach anyone, I decided to go with another, more reliable company and cancelled my services with Smartbox. After many calls and call backs, I was finally able to cancel the service and I received a refund about a week later. Fast forward to August 2021, and the company randomly debits my account the same amount they did back in July when I was originally going to use their services. I have called NUMEROUS times since I found this error in my account and each person I speak with just passes the blame, but no one is actually willing to do anything to correct this and refund my money. I have asked to speak with a manager multiple times and am promised one will call me back and I have yet to receive a call from one. I have emails out to Neil and Laura regarding this matter and neither of them have returned my emails. I did get one email from Miranda, and she was incredibly rude and condescending and failed to address my concerns and questions in my emails after that first response. This has been incredibly frustrating and I have had to dispute this with my bank due to the company's negligence or willingness to communicate with me. I also had to cancel my debit card and have a new one reissued to ensure this company that loves to pass the buck cannot pull from my account again next month for a service I never even received in the first place. I strongly encourage others to look elsewhere when looking for a pod. If you are in Denver, I highly suggest "Units." They are reliable, professional, answer their phones, reply to emails in a promptly manner and show up the time they tell you they will.

If I could I would give NEGATIVE stars. Not worthy of one but had to rate to post review. Set up for moving and storage until we closed on new home. Stated where we were moving to and no issues with redelivery. Upon moving, tried to set up delivery of box and took 3 weeks and they stated I was outside of delivery zone. Had to rent trailer, drive to location and unload box in their parking lot. Asked several times to speak with a manager, never heard a word. Waited on hold over an hour several times to speak with someone. Finally got someone to email me the location since I had to go get my stuff. Still never was able to speak with manager. I would never recommend this company even to my worst enemy. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE-I've used PODS in the past and highly recommend them NOT SMARTBOX. Only reason I had to go with them because of timeframe I needed a container to load from home I sold. PODS was booked out for weeks. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON SMARTBOX.

Beyond horrible. Had everything lined up to use Smartboxes for our cross country move to Florida. On the morning our boxes were to be delivered, got a TEXT saying the boxes will be delayed by 3 weeks. Along with an apology "for the inconvenience." Thousands of additional dollars spent and I rented a truck from Penske and drove it to Florida. What's worse is that when I went to their office in Centennial, the manager had no better ideas on how to get out of the mess they caused than for me to call around to Uhaul, etc. Tried calling their corporate office in Salt Lake and they kept routing me back to the local unhelpful manager.

I used SmartBox several years ago and the service was ok. You get what you pay for. I ordered a box on 6/9 to be delivered 6/11 and they were a no call no show. I tried calling them and spent 3 hours on wait and never got through to an actual person. I let the automated call back system save my place in line and never got a call back. I finally got a call back on 6/13 and the rescheduled for 6/14 and again no call no show. I had to be out of my house on that date forcing me to rent storage and a UHaul. I can't imagine if they actually had my property and I couldn't get through to them to deliver. Do not trust this company. . In a time of moving where dates and accountability are needed do not trust in this company to follow up and be accountable and respect you as a customer. This place is not reliable what so ever. They left me hanging.

I have been trying for a week to get some in touch with Smart Box to schedule delivery of my 5 boxes from storage. This is very upsetting that they have EVERYTHING I own and no one responds to emails, no one answers the phone OR returns phone calls. Even the Live Chat feature doesn't work. How can I get my stuff scheduled for delivery? If you own this company, you have my account info based on my name. Please call me!

This company doesn't answer the phone, and doesn't call you back when their system saves your place in line. How can they be America's preferred mover if they ignore their customers. Are they a stable company ? I've been on hold for an hour now, while writing this review -

My experience with this company has been HORRIFIC. I ordered a unit to sit on my property for 2 months. I received the unit and it was extremely rickety (its wood) and didn't include the lock I had ordered / paid for. Instead, there was a wooden stick used as a makeshift "lock." Nonetheless, we filled the unit with our belongings and 3 days later I received a phone call from Smartbox saying they needed to come get the unit and store it at their facility. This is neither what I had specified nor agreed to. I was told that because they don't have enough of the red coverings, they have to come get the box and use the red covering for another customer. So, they essentially sell more than what they have to offer. Once you sign up and go to the trouble of having everything delivered and fill it with your things, they call with the bait and switch news that you have no choice but to have them pick it up. They had the nerve of even wanting to charge me delivery fees! I've tried calling this company back multiple times and today I finally got a live person after sitting on hold for over 45 MINUTES. Then, the customer service rep was unable to help me and has apparently asked the local manager to contact me. I have, not surprisingly, not heard back.This company has a website that doesn't have the functionality to deliver on the limitations of the local operations. The communication is horrific. They are obviously grossly understaffed and, again, are committing to services that they can't deliver. I strongly recommend avoiding this company. I wish I had done my research.

Very rarely do I ever write reviews, however I thought it would be important to warn others against using this company. I chose Smartbox because they were inexpensive and I didn’t plan to need to use them for very long (no minimum time). Unfortunately I’ve had a bad experience. One of the boxes would not latch properly when it was loaded, thus it sat for two days at my house without a lock, filled with my things. I called Smartbox and they said they would have someone come out and look at it. No one ever came. Recently I called to have my boxes pulled out of storage so that I could access them. They tell you they will be out for a 2 hour window. It took me 30 minutes to find the correct place, and I was on hold the entire time trying to ask someone directions. Once I realized they are located at Bailey’s, I found someone in the office. They had my information, however my boxes had not been moved outside. I waited another 15 minutes for them to move my boxes out. When I finally got through to customer service (located in the Midwest), I requested that the local manager call me to discuss these issues. To date, I have not received a call. The one star in this review is for the very kind man who retrieved my boxes and helped me fix the lock on the one that would not latch.

This experience was a problem from the beginning they put it in the wrong location and tried to charge us to fix it. Auto pay issues and terrible customer service. Would avoid this company at all costs !
