Food is very solid and fairly priced. Patio is awesome space. We loved our nacho appetizer.

I have been here many times over the years. Platte River Bar and Grille is known for being on the pricier side of other similar places. In the summer they have great music and it's a fun eclectic atmosphere which are all positive. I was told they have a wing night that is worth trying so we went and tried the $.50 cent wings - and they were good! The bad side is the service. It took 20 minutes to be greeted after we sat in the Bar area. Our server and I think who was also the Bartender (Nicole) finally took our drink order but it took about 20 minutes to get to the table. She came back another 20 minutes later for the food order which took another 30 minutes to arrive at the table (just wings). She checked on us once and we ordered more drinks. We would have kept ordering more food and drinks but she never came back. She was sitting AT the bar with the patrons and when not sitting there with her back to us she was just looking at her phone like we weren't in the room. The bar/restaurant was not full at this point - just a bizarre experience. I'm not sure if she wasn't assigned to this area and that's why we were just left alone or if it was something else. If management can get this place running more smoothly it would be a great place to frequent - but we won't try this place again for awhile.

Saturday afternoon in the sun! Great spot to sit on the deck and enjoy a cold beer and some warm food. Service was outstanding! Food was good, not great but good. Definitely a spot I would return to.

The looks on the outside of this restaurant are deceiving. Definitely looks like a big time dive vibe but it cleans up nice inside and the back deck is HUGE. The food is pretty solid and the beer specials are great. The pitchers are super affordable, definitely will be coming here more often down in Littleton!

I do not recommend this place to anyone and will not be returning ever again. My first time here was just okay but when I recently went back, I was appalled by my experience. We came in on a Monday afternoon, it looked somewhat busy but there were still a lot of tables open. It took roughly 15 minutes for a server to even notice we were there even AFTER I asked a bartender if we could get some service. By the time our server even approached our table, we were ready to order food and drinks. She took our order and returned 10 minutes later to tell us that they can't serve us a pitcher of Bud Light and returned another 10 minutes later to tell us what kind of pitchers we can chose from. At this point, we have been there for well over half an hour and still haven't gotten our drinks yet. Our food arrived twenty minutes before our drinks did. The food was less than mediocre.

I've tried to come to this place twice now. It looks like such a neat spot right off the trail and conveniently located off Santa Fe. Every time the service is some of the worst I've had in Denver. The second time we gave it a try, the host sat us outside in the rain and then we tried to open up an umbrella to make do as we saw another table do the same, the server who hadn't come by to even greet us in the ten minutes we had been seated turned around abruptly and loudly scolded us. It was so rude and she made no comment to the other two tables who had done so. We took our wet selves and just left. The first time we were pretty sure our server just forgot about us entirely, we had to go looking for her after our plates had been empty and drinks as well for 30 minutes. Not to mention the food is not great. I got a burger and my fries were cold and my boyfriend got a buffalo chicken wrap that had a 10:1 lettuce to chicken ratio. He was still hungry when we left. This is such a bummer because I'd love to see this place do well, it has so much potential! I just feel unwelcome and unsatisfied during every visit.

Fun and easy to access location. Lots of parking in the back. Indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside on a gorgeous day. Umbrellas available for shade. Had the bacon cheese burger with tater tots and the blueberry (vodka) lemonade. Everything was wonderful! Food was delicious! Tater tots were crispy and plentiful. Service was great!

This restaurant/bar never disappoints! Haven't been in quite a while but decided to have lunch knowing that their Mexican food is outstanding. Sat at the bar had an iced tea and ordered the Chile Rellano plate. As always it was fantastic! Service was very good. The gentleman behind the bar was prompt, friendly, and efficient. The Chile Rellano's were smothered in green chili and gooey cheese and I probably could've eaten another plate but had to get back to work. Great place to hang out in the summer and listen to music.

My boyfriend and I stopped at this cute little spot for a quick date night - food was delicious, service was excellent, and loved the ambiance / vibe of the place! The giant garage doors and HUGE deck are so awesome!

We came here Thursday. The back deck is really pretty with great views. Unfortunately, the view and a couple food items were the only good thing. Our sever was wonderful until we saw mice and rats running all over the deck. I asked if she was aware and she just shrugged it off as it was no big deal. I asked to speak to a manager and again she had an attitude and said they wouldn't do anything about it anyway. Later she said she did tell the manager and no one ever came to speak to us. It's not sanitary to have mice running in and out of the building. There were multiple holes they were going in and out of that went into the indoor dining room. Not only is this gross but a major health issue. At a minimum someone should have come out and spoken to us. We will not be going back and encourage people to consider if they want to dine with mice. When I looked on yelp I saw other reviews addressing the mice that date back for a month.

Great food and all sorts of options for whatever you're feeling from Delicious Mexican food to a traditional grill. Our server on the patio was so nice and attentive, we appreciate her!

The Big Back Deck never disappoints in a Saturday. Rode our bikes over grabbed a cold brew and sat on the deck. Live music playing crispy rellanos and some chips and salad. The rellanos are terrific and their green chili is sooo good. I am not a fan of this stuff, often take a hard pass but here it's flavorful and doesn't have so much heat that you can't savor other flavors. A must on the weekend

I went to dine at Platte River tonight and we had a great meal. Unfortunately at the end of the night when the restaurant was closing up and we were finishing our drinks and dinner we discovered a family of mice crawling around the entire dining area. We spoke with the server who served us who let us speak with the manager who continued to argue with us and ensured our food wasn't touched by the mice. Our point was that when a restaurant is handling food, there shouldn't be any type of health issues or rodents crawling in any vicinity of the restaurant. There is no excuse for having Rodents crawling around the dining area especially in a RESTAURANT!! We will never be dining here again and I strongly encourage whoever is reading this review doesn't either.

Came here with my parents & brother since he's in town from the military. My parents have been coming to this bar for over 10 years, and to say the service wasn't absolute trash would be a lie. The handicap bathroom toilet is broken, so I had the curtesy to go tell the bartender. The female bartender with frizzy blonde hair was super rude and acted annoyed because I let her know the flusher is broken. Like alright I'll just make sure not to say anything next time and y'all will have an overflowing toilet! Only people who were even a sliver of polite was the male bartender & our server. Thanks for being good humans and making the service better! This place has a reputation of being a really great bar in the Denver area, y'all should work on training your employees to not have crappy attitudes towards military families & paying customers to keep up with that good reputation.

Really wanted to like Platte River Bar and Grill but a couple little demerits and one giant demerit (in a small package) sank it on a recent visit. I've biked past the bar many times and it always looked fun and inviting. Found ourselves in Littleton with free time, so we parked in their back parking lot and trekked around to front entrance, eventually finding correct door to go in. No hostess present at check-in so made our way to the back bar. Female bartender wasn't the friendliest but eventually got us our drinks. Told us we couldn't sit at any of the several dozen empty tables on the deck unless we checked with a hostess. Made our way, with drinks, back to the front. Waited for hostess, eventually a nice one noticed us waiting and led us back to the same outdoor deck area. As we were sitting down, I noticed a furry scurry of activity in my peripheral vision and had a sinking feeling. Patrons at another table a couple tables away laughed and said, "You have a little friend! Just throw him some scraps!" My wife just looked at me and put her feet up on the chair. I followed suit. Sure enough, within two minutes a rat poked his head out around the corner. Now, I like animals. I like wild animals. I can even find a place in my heart to appreciate the importance rats play in the food chain and overall ecosystem. However, there's a giant chasm between appreciating rats in their natural habitat and enjoying a relaxing drink on an outdoor patio. The two are really quite mutually exclusive. You know, that whole plague thing. Not to mention basic standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Stomping our feet scared away the furry friend for a minute or two, before he boldly poked his head out. Once we missed shuffling our feet for a few minutes and so we got to see his full size: not a NYC rat, thankfully, but also not a cute little Fievel mouse. This was a full-fledged rat. Bleh. We rapidly finished our drinks -- a watery rum and coke, and a concentrated artificial margarita -- and scrambled for the exit. Didn't let the door hit us on the way out. It's going to take quite an overhaul, and even then probably a commitment to sitting inside and only drinking bottled beer, to get us to return. To her credit, the outdoor waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. Wish we could've stayed and ordered drinks from her.
