I brought my blue diamond dove in after another vet failed to properly diagnose him. He was distraught, I was distraught and thought I was going to have to euthanize him.
They were very accommodating with scheduling.
And I felt immediately relieved as the doctor gave him a thorough exam and explanation of her findings. She did a quick gram stain that showed he had a bacterial infection and sent us home with antibiotics. Boom. Problem solved.
Wish I'd come here first! It's a long drive for us from Bounder County, but I won't go anywhere else in the future. This doctor clearly knows what she's doing.
If you have an exotic pet, its so important to take them to someone qualified! And the prices are totally reasonable. I'm feeling so thankful right now for this doctor!

Dr. Duree with Homestead Animal Hospital has provided excellent care to both my dog and cat for several years. The staff and technicians are also very courteous and professional. I highly recommend Homestead Animal Hospital to take care of your pet.

We love Homestead! The staff is always friendly and professional. The parking lot is often full, but they always take us right away. I honestly don’t think we have ever had to wait more than five minutes. Dr. Joseph is always so kind and gentle with our dogs. I can’t say they enjoy going to the vet, but they love Dr. Joseph. And he always takes the time to address any questions or concerns we have. There are other animal hospitals closer to us, but Homestead is worth the drive.

can't say enough good things about my recent experience with Homestead Animal Hospital. They were able to get my Frenchie in for an appointment on a Saturday, which was a huge relief. The staff was incredibly professional, took the time to listen to my concerns, and gave my dog a thorough examination. What stood out the most was their honesty—no attempts to upsell unnecessary treatments—and the way they handled my dog with such gentleness and care. It's clear they genuinely care about their patients. Highly recommend!

We have used Homestead for our dogs, ducks and chickens. I know most people don’t take a chicken to the vet, but to us they are pets and bring us a lot of joy so we want to make sure they get care when sick or injured. I feel like I have learned a lot from the avian bird vet specifically in spotting issues and treating simple things that could become fatal if untreated. When I do bring a bird in, the vet is very attentive/informative and their rates are really affordable. I refer them all the time on my Facebook groups.

My dog is usually a nervous wreck and DR. Jorgensen was so gentle with him. He walked with her to do his blood work with no problem. I was so happy about how much he liked Her and as a new patient I think My Lukie highly recommends this wonderful place. Thank you!

My regular vet couldn't see my Guinea Pig for more than a wheek (GP parents will get it) but they recommended Homestead (along with a couple of other names that required $185-$250 consultation fees in advance!). The team at Homestead saw Lady Gaga the next morning and I'm so grateful because the ulceration on her eye likely would have cost her the eye if we had waited. Let's just say the visit plus tests and meds was less than the 'consultation fees' at the two other places. It's a long drive from home but I'll absolutely use them in the future if I can't get into my closer to home vet.

I really appreciate the staff's friendliness throughout what can be a stressful experience. And I love that they have Avian care here as well as boarding. Not easy to find. A separate entrance is wonderful too and keeps things moving forward. A big thank you to Homestead!

My first experience as a pet owner taking my sugar glider to a vet for an emergency. The staff was amazing, caring, knowledgeable, and attentive. We had tough conversations honestly and made sure of the right course of action. Treatment and followup were easy. Obviously no one ever hopes to go the vet, but I'm glad I went to this one and will be going back if needed. Thank you!

Homestead Animal is outstanding! They've made a huge difference for all of my dogs. They saved one of my dogs that cut his leg on landscaping edging years ago. Today Dr Jorgensen, Dr Duree, and their outstanding Receptionist saved my Pomeranian. I was on the fence about bringing her in, but i felt something wasn't right. Dr Jorgensen talked to me one evening and explained that my dog may need a chest X-ray. Their amazing Receptionist encouraged me to get her in and not put it off. Dr Duree diagnosed her and treated her for heart failure. I hope to have more great time with my dog. THANK YOU for all your care. Janet & my dog, Roxy
